“Thanks, doctor.”
“Let me go!” Scarlet’s voice came from close by. “I need to see him!”
Dr. Robins smiled at me. “Is thatthewoman?”
I nodded. “Thewoman.”
Dr. Robins opened the curtain. “He’s in here, Miss.”
Scarlet rushed over past him, then she leaned down close to me and asked, “How are you doing?”
“I’m fine and that’s what I've been saying all along.”
Looking up, she asked the doctor. “I-is he really okay?”
“Yep, he is and I will instruct you since I know he won't listen. He can’t move that shoulder around for at least a day. Then he needs to wear a sling for a few days. Watch him for fever. I gave him an antibiotic, but he had that bullet in him for a few hours.”
Nodding Scarlet said, “Thank you. Talon said you were the best there is.”
“Oh, he did, eh?” Dr. Robins grinned. “Yeah, I remember how loud he howled when I slapped his tiny butt after he came into the world.”
Staring at him, she laughed. “Really, you helped with his birth?”
“Really.” Dr, Robins stepped back. “Stay safe and give your dad my message, ok?”
I nodded at him. “Thanks, Dr. Robins.”
He looked over at me as he gave me a wink. “Thewoman, I can see why.” Chuckling, he turned and left.
A nurse came in and she carefully placed a sling over my arm. Now remember, no moving this wing at all, you hear me?”
I nodded as just now I felt no pain as I smiled at her.
Looking over at Scarlet, she said, “You are gonna have your hands full with this guy.”
Nodding, Scarlet replied, “Don’t I know it?” She laughed.
“Here's a prescription of antibiotics for him.” She handed a small pill bottle to Scarlet. “And make sure to keep him from moving around too much.”
“I’ll be sitting right on top of him, so no worries.” Then she paused as she realized what she just said and her face went pink. “I mean…” She shook her head.
The nurse chuckled. “Well, I can’t say that I blame you, but do what you have to.” She left through the curtain.
Scarlet covered her face with both hands.
All I could do was chuckle. “Well, I like your plan and if you do that I promise to be a good boy.”
Scarlet lightly smacked my chest. “Oh, shut up. I cannot believe I just said that!”

Ranger came in while pushing a wheelchair and said, “Time to go, councilor.”
Justice’s laughter disappeared as he paused to glare at the chair. “No way.”
“Hospital policy, they said.” Ranger shrugged. “Or you can’t leave.”
