Ranger knelt beside him and did the same.
“No explosives,” they both said after a couple of minutes.
Tank reached into a bag and lifted out what looked like a stick of dynamite.
“What the hell?” Liberty exclaimed.
Tank lit it and dropped it down. “It’s a flare light.”
Suddenly, the whole area below us lit up.
I eagerly moved to the edge and peered down to see a metal tunnel.
Liberty was beside me and he looked up at Talon. “So do all your businesses in town have underground tunnels?”
Talon shook his head. “Only the ones O owned.”
“I’m heading down,” I said in a voice that told them there would be no waiting.
“You’ll need a vehicle,” Tank said as he hovered another device ? with a screen on it like a small Ipad ? over the hole. “This goes a long fucking way.”
Tapping his comm, Talon said, “Dag, bring a bike into the wash alley. In fact, start moving them all close.”
“Ok,” Dagger replied.
After a few minutes, they had the bike inside.
Talon told us to move back.
We did, but I was so angry at the time we were wasting and I couldn’t stop pacing.
Talon went over to the wall and pulled the lever. Again the metal screeching sound could be heard when the heavy door came up. He nodded at me. “Use the bike and we all are coming with you.”
Before I knew it, I was sitting on the motorcycle and several men were with me on theirs as Liberty wheeled a bike over and moved it in next to me. “No way are you leaving me behind.”
We all lowered down and drove off the meat slab. Headlights on, we took off. The metal tunnel was wide enough for a car, so we rode two at a time along it.
Talon was coming in behind us. “Logan, can you hear me?” he called out on the comm.
Nothing came back.
“Yeah, that’s what I thought,” Talon said. “Nothing can reach down here. So, when we get out, her tracker should show.”
“Show where?” Liberty asked in confusion.
“On your bike, the pad in front of you,” he replied.
I glanced down and my bike had one.
“Holy cow Batman, you all are high-tech with this shit,” Liberty said over the comm.
I tapped the screen and it came on but it was blank.
“It’ll work when we come out,” Talon said. “I wanted to get Logan on our location, but I’ll have to wait.”
Wait, wait…I was more than tired of hearing that word. In my mind, all I could see was Scarlet’s face full of fear. If this Wade fucker even left a scratch on her, he would pay with a shattered skull.
