I stare at my friend in confusion.
“They want to fuck you, Rosie.”
“They?” I swallow down bile rising in my throat. What is she talking about?
“The Crewis an alpha pack. Zane, who we met the other day in the library, he’s one of them,” Sophia says slowly.
“Zane, Duncan, Ollie and Seb,” Harrison adds.
“Do you know what that means?” Sophia asks me.
“Yes,” I snap. I’ve heard tales of some alphas choosing to live this way, forming strong lifelong bonds with other alphas and living together as a family unit. I’ve never come across one in reality, though.
“But why have they sent you?” I ask Harrison.
He smirks. “They’re doing things the old fashion way, I guess. They know approaching an omega directly can put them in a difficult spot. It can be intimidating. They like to send me as a go-between to set things up.”
“I’m not interested,” I growl, and Harrison’s eyes widen.
“Are you insane, Rosie? This pack is legendary. They are the hottest guys at this college. Think of the fun you could have.”
Except it wouldn’t be fun. Not when they work out they were wrong about me.
I frown at her and turn to Harrison. “You do this often?” I’ve been approached for sex before, but never through a third person.
“Yeah. They’re good friends. I went to school with some of them.” He chuckles. “You’re the first one to turn an invitation down.”
“Exactly! I’m not interested in being a toy to a bunch of alphas. Their plaything. I don’t want to be chewed up and spat out.”
Sophia giggles. “I’d love to be chewed up and spat out.”
I scowl at her. “You know what I mean.”
“At least think about it,” she says.
“They’re solid guys,” Harrison adds. “And they’re picky. They don’t just ask any and every girl to hang out.”
I shake my head. “Am I supposed to be flattered?”
“I think they’re on the look at for an omega, for their pack.”
“So they want a trial run, do they?”
Harrison chuckles again. “What’d you want me to tell them?”
“To go to Hell!” I snap.
Harrison simply nods and passes his half drunk rum to Sophia.
“I gotta go Soph, got practice, but let’s go for a drink sometime soon.”
“Sounds good.” She follows him to the door. “Don’t mind my friend. She can be a bit of a prude.”
“I am not a prude,” I call out.
“Tell Zane and the others I’d be happy to hang out.”
“Unfortunately, he’s not interested in betas like us.” He kisses her on the cheek.
