"I'm really not sure how I feel about this, Kelsi."

"Why? It's your clothes, and it suits you!"

"If you say so..."

I can't stop frowning at my reflection. I know these clothes came right out of my wardrobe, but there's still an odd feeling about showing off my body like this. First, wearing the clothes I saw myself wearing in a picture, from a scene I can't remember is very weird. Moreover, I've only ever worn a hospital gown for most of the time I remember, and since I came here, I’ve just worn normal clothes, like large pants and simple T-shirts.

This is a bit... sexy and fancy. The white sequin top doesn't hide much skin except for my breasts, and the leather pants are rather tight. With my burns, I wouldn't even have been able to wear such a thing a couple of weeks ago, but now, my scars are fine underneath. They don’t itch as much, except at night. I've decided I don't care about my scars. They are there, and they are healing just fine. They are red to dark brown, covering a lot of surface on my visible skin, but really, I don't care.

"You look sexy as hell, boo. One crazy sexy witch right there."

I turn to Kelsi with a frown. She is still in her gray bunny sweater, playing with her braids and staying reasonably far enough from my cat, nowhere near ready for an outing.

"Why aren't you getting all dressed up too? We are leaving soon."

Kelsi frowns and readjusts her thick glasses.

"I don't like dressing up. I’ll just put on a T-shirt and stay in my shorts."

I've never seen Kelsi out of her geeky or cute clothes, actually. It's as if she is hiding under her super cringey and oversized clothes. She often has her hood on too, and her glasses cover half of her face. I can tell she is pretty without that, though. She is rather tall and thin too, despite her habit of snacking all day. However, she flat out refused to dress up for this; though, she helped me put my makeup on and happily chose my clothes and a few bracelets for me to wear. She doesn’t seem like someone who hates dressing up unless it's just herself?

I turn around to check myself once more, and I suddenly hear a thump , and sigh.

"Kelsi, stop freaking doing that, please!" I say, exasperated.

She bites her lip and turns around to grab whatever she made fall.

"I'm just testing..."

"Stop with the testing."

She's been doing that all day and it's getting super annoying... Ever since I brought up hearing that cup crash before it happened, Kelsi has been dropping random things and pretending to let stuff fall, waiting for my reaction. We are already down two glasses and one bowl, and it's driving me crazy and making me jump all day because of it.

"I promise if it happens again, I'll tell you. But please, stop breaking stuff to see if I have some foresight or whatever."

"Sorry..."

Next to her, the cat suddenly jumps down onto the carpet and stretches, scratching it mercilessly. Kelsi stares at him with a confused expression.

"That cat is still the weirdest part..." she mutters.

"At least you don't have an allergy, it's confirmed by now."

"Well, maybe because I make sure to stay away. Or it's a hypoallergenic one, I don't know. More importantly, he hasn't eaten a thing or gone to the loo since he’s been here! All he does is follow you like your shadow, meow, and sleep! It's like he doesn't have any needs!"

I'm a bit confused about the cat too. How he got here is still a big mystery. The truth is, Bonnie's theory about the cat is growing on me. Could he really be a witch's pet? What does he do, then? Other than ruining my carpet and finding pictures in herbology books... I've been getting more questions than answers, and the cat isn't even one of the biggest questions right now.

The kitty strolls over to rub himself against my leg.

"...I think I'm going to call him Spark," I decide.

"Whatever you want," says Kelsi with a shrug. "I guess he's your cat, anyway... I wish he'd find new clues, though. Aside from sleeping on the carpet, that cat does nothing with his day!"

I chuckle and crouch down to pet him. Well, that much is true, witch cat or not, Spark is a cat. I guess I can't blame him for living his cat life instead of helping out. Especially since we are both locked here anyway... I wonder if my room could have any more clues we missed.

Kelsi and I searched again today, but we found nothing, and I couldn't really focus. I was mostly waiting for tonight. I really hope we will finally get answers at the club. I don't even care much anymore about going out, I just need someone who will finally tell me who I am, and what happened to me. Someone who knows something about witches. I sigh.

"You okay, boo?"

"It's just... I had high hopes about finding more in my room, you know. All we got was..."

"...A book and a cat. Every witch's starter kit!"

Well, that book got the wrong witch. No matter how much I tried to study it, all those plants and notes wouldn't make sense. I guess I'm really not an Earth Witch... I chuckle. If it wasn't for Kelsi being with me, I'd probably be much more upset about my situation.

She helps me adjust my hair a little and leaves the room to go change into the T-shirt she talked about earlier. To my surprise, it's not one of her T-shirts with a movie picture on it. This one is indeed a bit more appropriate for a club, a velvet turtleneck one. It still looks like she is trying to hide herself, though.

"Ready, ladies?" asks Ben from behind the door.

Bonnie couldn't be here tonight as she had an unexpected night shift, but of course Ben is coming with us. Kelsi and I finally leave my bedroom, Spark following us. Ben whistles when he sees our outfits and me with makeup.

"Sexy ladies! Damn, this is my first time going to a club with two chicks and neither is my girlfriend. Sad."

"At least we’re not your sisters!" chuckles Kelsi, grabbing her shoes.

"Any news from your brother?" I ask, putting on a pair of dangerously high heels as well.

"He'll join us there as agreed," nods Ben. "Danny might come a bit later than planned, he's busy with work. It's okay, though, we can wait for them inside the nightclub."

I nod and we go on our way. I can't bring Spark, but the kitty seems to know already. He purrs a bit when I caress his head before leaving, and simply sits in the hallway, staring as we close the door.

Once again, I love the car ride. I'm even more ecstatic that we are finally going to another location! I have been waiting for this all day. I’ve barely been able to contain my excitement since I woke up. I feel my heartbeat accelerate gradually as Ben drives us toward the nightclub, and I can't help but send worried glances at my tracking bracelet. It's still beeping green, not matching my internal excitement.

I hear the music of the nightclub as soon as we get to the parking lot. It's muffled, but the beat is strangely resonating through me. I turn to Kelsi, but it doesn't seem like she hears it... at least not yet.

"There won't be any problems because I'm human, right?" she asks as we leave the car.

Ben laughs.

"If a witch can come, a human shouldn't be a problem! The club is open to everyone, but mostly owned and frequented by werewolves."

Just like he said, to my surprise, we have no problem getting in. The bouncer barely glances our way and gives us an approving nod. We follow Ben inside.

The music is very loud in there, and I am a bit surprised as we enter.

The place is absolutely crowded with people. Women in short outfits that don't make my top look out of place and many men are bare-chested too, everyone dancing to the wild music. The DJ is on an elevated platform, and the strobe lights are sending flashes in all directions. I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the music, the movements, the violent lights. Kelsi grabs my hand, looking a bit lost too, and we keep following Benjamin further into the club.

We have to squeeze and fight our way through the crowd, and I make sure to stay behind Ben. I didn't expect this. Having so many bodies dancing and bouncing around me, so many faces, so much movement. I don't feel too well, but I try to focus on following the redhead through this battlefield. Finally, we get to the bar, and I let out a big sigh of relief.

"You okay?" screams Kelsi above the crowd.

I nod, but honestly, I'm not at my best. Those flashing lights are annoying. I feel like I see less and less every time they hit my eyes, even though I’m trying to avoid them. I try to take deep breaths and control myself. I'm hot. I don't know why, but I feel horribly hot. Well, it is probably hot in here, but still. My skin is reacting to this, and I feel my own goosebumps sending shivers down my spine.

Someone pushes a drink between my fingers, but I can't focus on the red mixture. I need to go there. There's something going on, across the crowd, something I need to see. I turn around, fighting the flashes and squinting my eyes to try and find it. What is it? I feel just like when I heard those screams. This sense of urgency, that something's going on that I need to latch onto. There's... something.

I detach myself from the bar despite the voices calling me, and I submerge myself into the sea of people. Everyone is dancing around me, ignoring me. Don't they hear it? This... sound. I don't know what to call it. It's like a voice or an echo. Something calling me, telling me where to go. I push someone and struggle to get past another group. I'm squeezed between so many bodies, it's infuriating. Just let me through!

Finally, my eyes catch a silhouette. I stop for a second, but now that I've seen it, I need to go there. I need to see him. I look from afar, trying to print his features in my mind. Black hair and a leather jacket. I can only see his back, though, and everything in my head screams for him to look at me. Look at me, look this way! I'm right here...

What the hell is wrong with me? I'm pulled by a force I don't understand, fighting my way through the crowd. My eyes try not to let go of his silhouette, despite the strobe lights that blind me time and time again. I'm almost there! I want to catch him, grab his arm, I'm just a few feet away...

"Hey!"

I stop, someone just stepped in my way. I glare at the guy, with his drink spilled on his outfit. I ignore him to step aside and go on my way, but he suddenly grabs my arm with his large hand. It hurts!

"You could apologize!" he yells.

"Let me go!"

I glance behind him. No, no, where did he go? The guy is gone, and I'm trapped here with this big idiot! That guy looks like a bear with the face of a rat, and the smell of an empty bottle. That jerk made me lose him! I'm furious and glare at him, struggling to free my arm.

"You should learn to say sorry, little girl!"

"I said let me go!"

I feel my fire get agitated inside. I can't lose control now, not with so many people around, but if this guy doesn't let go...! He still has his hand on my arm, holding it tightly, and he even steps forward.

"Dance with me!"

"Fuck you!"

He makes a shocked face to see me suddenly so angry, but I don't give a damn. I brutally push him and he lets go of me. Finally! Now, where is that guy from earlier...

"You little bitch!"

It's the bear guy again, grabbing my wrist this time. I turn around to glare at him. Isn't this drunkard going to let me go?! I can't cause a scene here, but my anger is dangerously rising. I try to look around for Ben, but maybe he hasn’t managed to find me in the crowd. I try to pull my wrist away from that guy using all my strength.

"I said fucking let go!" I shout.

"Hey, what are you doing?!" yells another guy, trying to make the bear guy free me. "Let the girl go!"

Another guy gets involved too, and they all start yelling at each other and... growling. That's right, I forgot this was a werewolf lair. The two guys who just got involved are growling, but the bear guy is definitely human, as he starts insulting them, calling them mutts and dogs. As they argue and growl, they even seem to forget about me. I get impatient. Either Ben or whoever I was chasing, I need to find one of them.

"Let me go!" I yell again, trying to push him away.

"Little bitch!"

Unlike my expectations, he suddenly pushes me, and I fall backward. I don't know if people avoided me or stepped out of the way, but I violently hit the floor. I feel the pain resonate through my head, and suddenly, a flow of voices invades my mind.

It's as if, while I'm getting stoned by the pain, something was unleashed inside. I feel it. This darkness from before, bursting out like a violent hurricane. It's... strangely thrilling. Like a wave of fire flowing through my veins, giving me the chills. I feel... powerful.

Kill him.

I get back up, fire in my hands. I even want to laugh, it's thrilling to see the surprise in that guy's eyes and the fear around us. Everyone who noticed steps back. The lights keep flashing, and I feel the darkness grow around me. I take a step forward. It's so amusing to see that fear in his eyes as my fire dances in my hands.

"A... a witch!"

I snicker. That's right. Did they notice just now?

Kill that human.

Should I? I have a smile on my lips, my fire dancing around my fingers, and ready to do whatever I want... I take another step, my hands raised in front of me, showing the beautiful flames coming out of me. The guy stumbles backward. He hurt me. Why shouldn't I hurt him back? This man deserves it, doesn't he? Men are such vicious creatures. I should–

"Enough."

Someone suddenly grabs one of my wrists, and I fly above a shoulder before violently falling on my back on the floor. I don't understand what just happened, and a sharp pain explodes in my wrist before I do. I hear my own voice screaming, and my body is dragged on the floor.

Something icy brutally pours down on me. I come back to my senses, a bit shook.

"Everyone get the fuck out. Now."

I hear running steps around me, all getting away. I'm cold and drenched. Is that a... an ice bucket? I shiver and look up.

A blonde woman is standing above me, out of breath and looking furious. But what hits me the most is that strange golden, warm halo around her. Like... an aura. She pushes her hair back, shaking her head.

"You damn witch... I knew you were trouble."

"You're... Selena?" I mutter.
