“You are not being serious right now, just because I don’t think that is sexy? You know what, I have nothing to say about the subject. I’m not into aliens. And I’m not into romance.”
“You just said that you liked sci fi.”
“I’m not going to win this argument, am I?”
“Nope.” she says with a sweet smile. “Go and watch sports, and then I will chat with you later.”
“Come let me give you a kiss before I go back to the living room.”
“Okay.”
I grab her face and kiss her hard. She presses her body into mine and I love the feel of her soft, supple limbs as I run my fingers down her back. She moans against my lips as I thrust into her and she feels my hardness.
“No.” she says, gripping my shoulders. “I have to finish working.” she says, breathlessly.
I grin down as I suck on her lower lip and tug on it. She moans again. “Wes.”
“Fine.” I say, dropping my hands and stepping back. “I’ll be thinking of you.”
“I’ll be thinking of you too.” she grins. I watch as she walks back over to the table and takes a seat.
I head out of the room and close the door gently behind me before making my way back to the living room and taking a seat.
My penthouse apartment feels so much more like a home now that she’s here.
She hasn’t technically moved in with me officially, but she’s here more days than not.
I can’t wait until the time comes when she’s here full-time.
I can’t wait till the time that I can call her officially and legally mine.
I know it’s too soon. She’s still young.
And I want to be able to woo her and take her on romantic dates and plan surprise trips and send her dozens and dozens of bouquets of roses and other flowers.
I love her in a way I didn’t think would be possible to love.
I love her in the way that makes me want to reach up to the stars and grab the moon and hand them all to her.
I love her in a way that I could live in darkness without a sun for the rest of my life, if I knew she would be by my side.
I groan as I think about how much I have changed in such a short amount of time.
How much she has grown in my heart. How much I just want to be with her.
My phone rings and I answer it gratefully. “Hey, Tyler what’s up?”
“Yo dude, what you up to?”
“Just here watching TV. What about you?”
“I was thinking that I might go down to a bar, maybe throw some darts. You interested?”
“Um,” I look at my watch. “I’m not sure. I was kind of waiting on Sabrina to be done with work so we could watch a movie and then grab something to eat. But I don’t know how long she’s gonna be, so maybe.”
“Oh man, you really are whipped.”
“What?” I say.
“I mean, I remember a day when you and me would go out drinking all night, and you didn’t have to think about having to be home for some woman.”
“She’s not just some woman. She’s my girl. And if and when you ever have someone you feel about as strongly as I feel about Sabrina, you’ll understand what I mean.”
“Not going to happen.” He burst out laughing. “You know me, if they get more than two nights, they’re lucky.”
“Oh my gosh, Tyler, really?”
“What can I say?” he chuckles. “They don’t call me the bad boy of hockey for nothing.”
“You know what, I’m going to pretend I didn’t hear that.”
“Okay, how’s your sister, by the way? She still mad at me?”
“I think she’ll be mad at you for the rest of your life.”
“I mean, she should have thought it was a compliment.”
“She should have thought you throwing your drink over her a compliment?”
“Well, you said the pretty one, and I thought she was the prettiest of them. So, I mean, no offense, Sabrina is absolutely gorgeous. But you know, Erica is more my type.”
“Um, you do know Erica is my sister, right?”
“I know. I’m not saying that I want her. Of course, I wouldn’t want her. She’s your sister. I’m just saying she’s hot. And if she wasn’t your sister, I’d definitely hit it.”
“Tyler, you do not want me on your bad side.”
He burst out laughing. “Sorry, I should have known better than to speak to an overprotective brother about his little sister.”
“Yeah, you shoulda.”
“So, we going out tonight, or--”
“I don’t know. Hold on. Let me speak to Sabrina and see if she minds if I head out.”
“Whipped,” he says, under his breath, and I just laugh.
I head back to the office and knock on the door. “Hey, my love.”
She looks up again, a small smile on her face. “I already said I’m working. We’re not gonna make love right now.”
“That’s not why I’m interrupting you.” I say, rolling my eyes. I can hear Tyler chuckling on the other side of the line.
“Oh, okay. What is it?”
“I got Tyler here on the phone, and he wanted to know if I wanted to go out, grab a couple of beers, and maybe play some darts. And I was just checking with you, how long you think you’d be writing?”
“Oh, you can go.” she says. “Have fun.”
“What?” I stare at her in amusement.
“Have fun.”
“You’re gonna let me go out with Tyler? The most famous hockey player in the country, and have drinks? You know there will be women swarming us.”
“I trust you. And you literally just told me, I’m your soul mate, the love of your life.” she shrugs. “I’m okay.”
“Okay, wow.” I stare at her in surprise. “I just thought--”
“You thought I’d be super jealous and be like, no, you can’t go.?”
“I mean, I don’t know that I’d let you go.” I say, laughing.
“You wouldn’t let me anything.” she says. “And it’s not up to you to tell me what to do, just like it’s not up to me to tell you what to do.”
“I know, but I’m just trying to be respectful of your feelings, and--”
“I know, and I love you for it, Wes. I love you so much, but have fun. And maybe Erica and I will join you later.”
“Really?” I say staring at her. “Erica and Tyler in the same room? She hates him.”
“She does. But that doesn’t mean she might not want to go out and meet some other hotties.” she winks at me. “Now go and have fun.”
“I love you so much, my darling.”
“I love you too.” She blows me a kiss and I pretend to catch it. I cannot wait to grow old with Sabrina. She is the light of my entire life.
