She leaned her head back and closed her eyes.

“Okay.” She opened her eyes and turned to me. “We wait and let the opportunity present itself.”

“In the meantime, let’s go someplace. The three of us.”

“What like a vacation?”

“Yeah, normal people take vacations all the time, so why can’t we.” I took her hand. “Cason gets out of school soon, right?”

“Yeah, two more weeks.”

“Ok, let’s go someplace.” He said. “I want to spend some time with you and my son.”

The smile on Grace’s face made all the shit in our life worth it. I loved seeing my girl happy.

My phone on the nightstand rang. My heart sank.

I let go of the grip I had on Grace.

She sat up.

“We have to go.”

“Yeah.”

She kissed my chest and rose up on her knees.

“But, I’ve got a few minutes.” I said and rolled her onto her back.

“What should we do with the time?” She angled her hips.
