“We’ll see about those,” I said, doubtfully. He could bite my nipples and pinch them all day long if he wanted to, but metal clamps? And on other body parts?

“Fair enough,” he said. He leaned down and licked my nipple again slowly. “Paddles? Crops and whips?”

I moaned. I couldn’t help it. Had he been doing research? Or maybe he hadn’t been truthful when he said he’d never done anything like this before. The dominance in his eyes and the sound of his voice told me he knew exactly what he wanted.

Brand smiled deviously, and his breath washed over my skin when he said, “God, look what you do to me.” He closed his mouth over my nipple and clamped his teeth around it, then grabbed my hand and led it to his dick.

When I gripped it though his jeans, he was as hard as stone.

“You’ve wrecked me again. Do you think it should go unpunished? ”

He bit down hard, his teeth digging in around the tight bud, and I moaned wantonly and so loudly that I thought I’d probably scared the birds in the trees.

“No, sir,” I breathed. My head tipped back against the headrest as he pushed my thong’s thin strip of fabric out of his way and slipped a finger inside me. It glided in easily, and I tilted my hips to give him better access. “Punish me.”

His mouth came down over mine so hard, my head snapped back against the seat. My legs fell fully open and my arms dropped to my sides like overcooked spaghetti noodles as he added another finger and kissed me.

Pumping slowly, his other hand snaked behind my head. He gripped my hair in his palm, not letting me move. I rode his hand as best as I could in the seat, my hips rolling against his wrist, and my hands lifted to clutch the collar of his shirt.

“When you’re with me, you’re on my time. This is how I want you.” His fingers inside me massaged and pumped possessively, and his thumb came down over my clit. His whole hand owned me. “Tell me yes.”

“Yes.”

“I want you wet and ready for me to fuck you whenever I want. However I want.”

“Oh God.”

“Do you want to come, Roxanne?”

“Yes, sir, please .”

He said nothing more, and my eyes popped open when he stole his body away from mine. After he sucked the fingers that had just been inside me, he put his truck in Reverse and backed onto the dirt lane, adjusting himself beneath his jeans as he drove.

He didn’t look at me again until we parked in front of Bax’s and Bea’s yellow house. “I should make you suck my cock for teasin’ me.”

The scene played clearly in my mind: Brand sitting on my couch in my living room, his jeans and boxers pulled down to his thighs, and me on my knees between his legs, my wrists secured together behind my back and my head bobbing above his lap.

His strong hands would hold me down, make me take him deeper.

His cock in my mouth would choke me, and I’d suck his cum down my throat like a vanilla milkshake from the Dairy Dream when I made him come.

I moaned and pressed my thighs together, trying silently to convince myself not to do it right here in his truck in front of his brother’s house.

“That’s your punishment, Roxanne,” he said, turning and finding satisfaction in the desperate need splashed across my face. “You will imagine givin’ me head all night, and later, I won’t let you come until you’ve sucked me dry. Now, get out of the truck and go say hi to my baby sister.”

I couldn’t look at him. If I did, I’d jump him, so I couldn’t see his smile, but I heard it in the sound of his voice.

“Yes, sir.”

“Roxi?” Brand’s niece, Athena, greeted me when we walked into her house, and the one-two-threes started up again. “What’re you doin’ here?”

Abey’s head appeared around the corner of the wall dividing Bax’s kitchen and living room. “Rox? Is there an emergency? My radio hasn’t gone off.”

I shook my head. I was at a loss for words, but I gripped the hem of my dress and squeezed to stop myself from tapping.

Brand reached for my hand, detached it from the fabric, and held it. “Roxanne is my guest. My date.”

His gentle touch on my skin eased my nervousness, and a rush of relaxation pulsed through me from my hand, where he rubbed soothing circles into my palm, to my heart and my head.

“Oh.” Athena smiled. “Didn’t see that one comin’.”

Abey moved into the kitchen, her wife Devo following behind her. “Your date?” Abey said to Brand, and then she looked at me, eyebrows furrowed, probably confused, like two plus two didn’t equal four anymore. “And how long’s this been goin’ on?”

“Since the search for Natalie,” Brand said easily, like there weren’t three sets of eyes staring us down.

At least their mom hadn’t shown up yet. I could just imagine the look of disapproval Merv would aim at me. Abey told me last year when Bax and Bea had first gotten together that her mama didn’t like any woman who dated her sons.

“Actually,” Brand amended, “it started the first night I was back home.”

It felt like he had injected sunshine straight into my heart hearing him say it. He wanted his family to know how much he liked me.

“And why am I just hearin’ about this now?” Abey asked. There wasn’t anger on her face, just confusion, but she aimed it at me, not her brother.

Bax and Bea joined everyone in their kitchen, Bea holding little Stuey on her hip.

Brand tensed next to me. He could tell me till he was blue in the face that everything would be fine when we outed our relationship, but his hand flexed around mine, so I squeezed back, trying to convey to him that he could be my support, but I’d be his too.

“What’s goin’ on?” Bax asked.

Great. The whole fucking family. And now I needed to explain, except I realized I didn’t really know how to.

What should I say? Brand and I are dating?

Fucking? It’s a tryst? A one-night stand that wouldn’t quit?

I’m totally head over heels for him, but I’m scared it’s a one-sided thing?

Oh, and your brother likes to boss me around and tie my hands to my thighs so he can have his wicked way with me and fuck me with liquor bottles?

But none of that was appropriate in front of Athena and Stuart.

Brand leaned forward, like he was going to take the problem out of my hands and fix it, but it was my confession Abey wanted.

I squeezed again, tugging him back to me.

“We haven’t exactly defined this,” I said, wagging a finger between the two of us. “It happened, and I was afraid to tell you, Abey. I didn’t want it to mess up our friendship or our workin’ relationship. I-I”—looking around the room at all the people Brand loved, I sighed—“I was just scared.”

“Rox, you’re family,” Abey said. “There’s no need for your fear. If you and Brand have somethin’, I can respect that.”

Instant relief. “Thank you.”

Brand rumbled something beside me. Probably, “I told you so.”

Abey smiled. If I wasn’t wrong, there was a little glint in her eye. “But you should’ve told me.”

Standing beside her, Devo snorted loudly. “Oh, book club is gonna hear about this. You’re really in trouble now, Roxi.”

Abey grabbed my hand out of Brand’s, and I followed as she pulled me into the living room. I sat on the couch while the whole family, including Brand, formed a semi-circle in front of me and stared at me.

Just then, the kitchen door banged open behind us.

“Where y’all at?” Merv hollered. “I brought a surprise.”

Bax turned toward the sound of his mom’s voice. “Mama? I was just about to come pick you up.”

“No need,” Merv replied.

She entered the living room. A big meddlesome smile clogged her features as she dragged someone with her by their hand. Someone with long, shiny, black hair.

“Brand, look. I brought your friend, Gina.”
