“Please.” Such a needy moan. I almost give in to her. “Please, oh God, please.”

There are other things to attend to before I give in to her. To myself.

“Let’s see about that grave.”

The second I leave her, she falls forward. I steady her with one arm around her waist, letting go of her as soon as I’m sure she can stay up by herself.

Being a prick about it.

She wants warmth and attention? Too bad. The only thing she’s getting is me.

I make a show of staring at the grave she dug.

Of course it’s perfect.

Pride and warmth swell in my chest at her work. At how she’s persevered despite the challenges life and I threw in her way.

“You’ve done an okay job.”I love you, but I’m too much of a sadist bastard to say that. “Though…no, it isn’t completely symmetrical.”

I couldn’t give a fuck about symmetry. I give a fuck about getting her worked up.

“So?” Her brow scrunches, and she moves closer to me. “Who cares?”

I don’t. I wrap a hand around her throat, pulling her to me. Tipping her face up. “Talking back?”

“Yes.” I choke her harder. “No.”

“Good girl.” Drowning in desire, I lean in and nip at her bottom lip. “You’re lucky I want to rail you so hard, I can barely breathe. Otherwise, I would’ve made you go down there. Would’ve stood watch while you dug another couple of inches in the ground. Until the grave is symmetrical. That would’ve been a fitting punishment for being a brat.”

“You wouldn’t have.”

“Yes, I would.” I cock an eyebrow. “As it stands, this grave will do. Go wait for me by that tree.”

She grabs my hand, squeezing it. “Anderson, I thought we were doing this together?”

“You thought I’d let you touch another man, is that it?” We’re breathing each other’s air, my forehead pressing to hers. She trembles at my ruthlessness. “You thought wrong, kitten. Go wait for me while I take care of them.”

Something about my possessiveness soothes her, and she flashes me a shy smile. “Okay.”

As a reward, I devour her lips, biting, sucking. Wrapping my hand tighter around her throat until she struggles to breathe.

She kisses her monster back. Moans and swipes her tongue along mine.

With death surrounding us, with her complete submission, I’m close to cracking.

I don’t.

“Go over there.” Careful not to stumble into the grave, I step back. “Wait for me.”

“Always.” She walks backward, looking at me as if I’m the man of her dreams.

The burial process happens in a blur.

Their bodies are all that’s left for me to handle. I already crushed their phones into dust after deleting their last locations. Fortunately, nothing was uploaded to the cloud.

When I’m done, I look at my handiwork.

Heaps of dirt cover the two criminals. Leaves, twigs, and scattered debris provide sufficient camouflage if anyone stumbles through.
