I swallowed hard, knowing she was lying half-naked next to me. Reminding myself he would only be here for a few days to celebrate his cousin's birthday, I typed back.
Nate: Can your uncle Landon do a pat-down before she comes so I know she’s not hiding a shank or some shit?
Asher: HA HA just pick her ass up. I already texted her to tell her I’m going to be late. I’ll tell her to play nice.
Katie rolled over, stretching her arms over her head as she blinked away the sleep in her eyes.
“Who’s texting you so early?”
Releasing a yawn, she quickly covered her mouth.
“Your brother. Apparently, you asked to come with me to pick him up, but his flight was delayed. He said you have to play nice.”
Raising my eyebrow, I leaned down, hovering over her lips but not letting them touch.
“You think you can play nice, darlin’?”
Closing the gap between us, a smirk crossed her face.
“Not sure I can do that, Nathan. Maybe you can teach me?”
Why did she have to be so irresistible? Groaning, I pressed harder onto her lips, my tongue slipping inside for just a moment before I pulled away.
“Get dressed. I'm taking you somewhere now that we have a whole day to waste.”
Popping up and leaned over me, her finger tracing down my torso, tempting me to flip her over and teach her a lesson about waking up looking so damn sexy.
“Hmm, where are you taking me?”
Lying back on the pillow, my fingers rose to my lips sealing them with an invisible zipper.
“You can wait and see.”

As I drove down the highway, Katie asked me a half dozen questions about where we were going and what we would do once we got there.
“It’s a surprise, hence why I’m not telling you anything. Now quiet down over there or I’ll turn this truck around.”
She laughed for a good five minutes before giving me shit about sounding like her father. I knew we would be there soon and hopefully she would welcome the idea as a new adventure and not immediately shut down my proposition.
