With my eyes wide, I pouted my lip out. Hoping I could convince him to drop it.
“Please, Nathan.”
After a minute, his shoulders relaxed, and his hands cupped my face.
“You promise you’re going to text Landon?”
I nod as his lips crash into mine. The kiss was everything I needed from him. Hungry and full of passion.
“No more parties for you, you got that? Not unless I’m there with you.”
Leaning my head against his chest, a tear rolled down my cheek. It was finally fully hitting me that things could have gotten so much worse for me tonight had I not kept a level head and gotten myself out of there. Brandon was clearly not in his right mind, and I underestimated just how dangerous he could be.
“Hey...”
Nate’s hand tilted my chin up, noticing that tears filled my eyes to the brim.
“You okay?”
Kissing my forehead again, I tried my best to hide another sniffle.
“I’m just glad you’re here now. I don’t want to be alone.”
A smile crept across his face.
“Do you want me to take you back to my place? Get away from here for the night.”
It was the first time he had ever offered to have me go over to his place. Though it wasn’t far from here, the thought that Brandon could come looking for me left me slightly apprehensive about falling asleep.
“You just drove all the way out here to spend time with me. You’ll have to drive me back again tomorrow before Asher gets back. I can’t ask you to do that.”
Pushing my hair behind my ear, the back of his fingers traced my chin before resting on my lips.
“Grab a change of clothes and I’m not taking no for an answer.”
My heart swelled at the thought of waking up in his arms again after so long. It had been over a month since we were with each other for more than a few hours. Rolling my eyes, I tried my best to make it seem like it was such an imposition only causing him to laugh.
