“I promise. I’ll find a way. But you have to promise not to do anything reckless again.” When I don’t say anything, he nudges me. “Natalya?”
“I promise,” I whisper, clutching the blankets in my hands. “I’ll follow your lead.”
The tension leaves his body. “Thank you. Now, get some rest. It was a long day. I’ll come up with a new plan tomorrow.”
Knowing I have to trust him, I do as he says and sleep soon takes over me.
Chapter Ten
Mikhail
Iget word from one of my men, Aaron, that Nico’s men are trying to steal another of my gun shipments and after what happened with Denis, I’m not in the mood to be messed with again.
I leave Natalya sleeping and looking beautiful after the multiple orgasms I gave her and head to the location of my gun shipment delivery. It’s in a secluded spot on the outskirts of town in an abandoned junkyard. No one ever comes around here, not even the police. Mostly that’s because I’ve paid the police off so they don’t come around, allowing me to conduct my business in peace.
But Nico is not letting me have any fucking peace.
I failed Natalya, even though I promised her I would save her sisters. I punished her for how she acted but I’m also the one who should be punished. I went back on my word. Not intentionally but it still happened. The shit with Nico is my punishment I guess.
Well, I can’t stand for that.
I reach the junkyard and park my car across the street. The large van with my guns is stalled, the driver dead in the front seat. His body is half hanging out the open window.
Nico’s men are at a standstill with my men. All of them are facing off with guns. Fuck this.
I ease out of my car and slowly shut the door so they can’t hear. With my gun raised and the silencer on, I start shooting Nico’s men from behind. Three of them die before the other two even realize what’s happening.
“Spare one,” I tell my men as the two men start running.
Aaron shoots down one of the guys, leaving the other one alive with a gunshot to the leg to slow him down. I nod at Aaron and my other three men.
“Get the guns somewhere safe,” I tell him.
“What are we going to do about all these bodies?” he asks.
“Call Charles. He’ll get rid of them.” Charles is the man you call when you need to dispose of a dead body.
Aaron and my other men nod and head off, pulling the body of the driver out of the van and hopping in instead. The driver was just an innocent man trying to make money for his kid’s college. I feel a little bad that he’s dead but he knew the risks. All my men do.
As I’m sure Nico’s men know as well.
I turn to the last remaining man, now on the ground, cradling his bleeding leg in his hands. “How did Nico find this place?”
“I’m not telling you shit,” he spits out.
“You’re going to die either way. You know that, right? So tell me what I want to know and I’ll make it quick. If you don’t…” I let it hang in the air.
The man’s gulp is visible. “Nico found out because he has an inside mole.”
Fuck. Of course he does. He’s probably paying the mole a lot of extra money for taking such a large risk.
“Who is it?” I grit out.
The man shrugs. “I don’t know a man. I just know there’s a mole.”
“Who is it? Surely you’ve heard a name before.”
It can’t be Jackson since I just killed him. Aaron is too loyal. But I have a lot of men under my command. I pay them all well but maybe not well enough.
