CALLI
My back arches against the damp kitchen counter beneath me as Daemon’s burning hands press against the inside of my thighs, spreading me wide, and his tongue swipes up the centre of me.
This wasn’t meant to happen.
I was with Ant. He was being so sweet and—
“Fuck, Nikolas,” I cry, my fingers twisting in his hair, holding him in place as I grind against his mouth as he sucks my clit, driving me higher and higher.
I should have known something was up the second that alarm started blaring. I should have known the devil was going to be behind it. Maybe, subconsciously, I did. Because when he stepped up behind me, I didn’t freak out half as much as when Ant jumped out at me earlier. It’s like some part of me knew he’d come for me.
I just didn’t think I’d end up laid out on my kitchen counter, getting eaten like I’m his favourite meal.
“Oh God,” I whimper, my release building, my need for him growing. “More, I need more.”
He groans, the deep rumble flowing through me and pushing me even closer.
“I n-need—” But I snap, my demands cut off as I scream his name, my release slamming into me and making my entire body jerk on the counter with the power of it.
Pleasure washes through me in wave after wave as I try to suck in the air I need.
I gasp, my brain coming back to me, and I wake up sitting upright in bed, my skin flushed, my chest heaving, and a delicious pulsing between my legs.
“Holy shit.” Did I just… “Fuck.”
Dropping my head into my hands, I replay those images that just seemed so real in my mind as my temperature begins to lower. My eyes shoot to the kitchen counter where he had me laid out for him. But he never let me fall. He brought me to the edge time and time again as his cruel words filled my ears, and then he vanished into the night.
“Shit, shit, shit.”
I fall back onto my pillow, my dry pillows, and something startles me when it hits my cheek.
“What the—” I pick up the small piece of paper, my brows pulling together as I study it.
It’s a… it’s an origami bat?
My heart picks up speed as I stare down at it, my mind racing as I try to figure out what was dream and what’s reality.
Placing the bat down on my bedside table, I swing my legs over the side of the bed and look around. Evidence of the sprinklers going off is everywhere, and it makes my heart slam in my chest, thinking that my dream might just have been a repeat of reality. No wonder it all feels so real.
I find my phone on the floor in the middle of the room, a small puddle beneath it. Lifting it up, I dry it on the pyjamas I’m wearing, ones I didn’t put on when I first got changed when Ant was here, and I wake it up.
I’ve got a whole stream of messages from Dad checking in and making sure everything really is okay. But it’s the one from Daemon that makes my heart jump into my throat.
Daemon: Keep looking over your shoulder, Angel. You haven’t seen the last of me.
A rush of desire floods me before I curse myself out. That threat shouldn’t be tempting to me. I should want him gone. But I fear that all I’m going to be able to achieve is to fantasise about when he’s going to pop up and ‘punish’ me again for drugging him. If what happened last night can even be described as a punishment.
It’s not until I sit at my kitchen counter with a coffee that I finally look at the time.
“Oh fuck,” I gasp, jumping back up and racing toward the bathroom. Not that it’ll do much good. I’m already late.
* * *
“What the fuck happened last night?” Nico barks as I race toward the girls’ locker room after school for our gymnastics class. I’m late after our study session ran long, and I really don’t have time for his bullshit.
Tugging my shirt up higher on my throat in a pathetic attempt to hide the marks from his prying eyes, I suck in a deep breath and turn to face him.
“Nice of you to show your face and find out for yourself.”
