I shrug. "What's there to know?"
Charlotte turns to face me, the bowl of popcorn in her lap. "You tell me."
I haven't told Charlotte yet about what happened between Jasper and me last night after he picked me up. I'd been vague, only stating that he'd given me a ride home.
The girl can read me like an open book. "Did you two bump uglies?" She wiggles her eyebrows suggestively.
I laugh nervously and sip my drink, hoping it'll alleviate my nerves. "We didn't bang or bump anything together."
"But you're not denying something happened!" she says, pointing at me. "Details, girl. I always tell you all mine."
Another sip of beer, and I laugh. "Yes, but I don't ask for them."
She ignores my remark. "So, what did you both do if you didn't bump nasties? Butt stuff?"
I wrinkle my nose and grab a piece of popcorn from the bowl, tossing it at her face. "No!"
"Oral?" she asks, and my eyes widen. I can't hide anything from Charlotte, even when I try and keep what we did a secret between Jasper and me.
"You did!" Charlotte is far too giddy with excitement. "Oh my gosh. Did he go down on you? Or did you blow him? Tell me it was good. I'll bet he has a huge dick."
I grab another piece of popcorn to throw at her face, but she catches it midair. Damn her!
"Well?" Charlotte asks, waiting for me to elaborate.
I reach for the remote, wanting to end before it turns into a full-on firing squad, and I feel pretty close to that at the moment.
"I don't kiss and tell," I say, hoping that'll put an end to her interrogation.
Charlotte snaps the remote from my hands and keeps it out of my reach. She's a couple of inches taller than I am, so there's not much use in me trying to fight her for the remote. But that doesn't mean I'm going spill all the details about what happened last night.
"Right. Well, he picked you up from the party. What happened after?" Charlotte looks genuinely interested, but she just wants the dirty deets.
"I got hit on by this jerk I have class with, and I wanted to leave. I couldn't find you, so on my way to the subway, I called Jasper to have someone to talk to since it's a long walk."
"And?"
"He offered to come and get me." There's nothing scandalous in him picking me up. We are roommates and friends. I definitely would consider Jasper, a friend. "End of story."
"Bullshit!" Charlotte laughs. "That's not all that happened. So, come on, spill it."
I'm smiling but glance away. "Not happening. We're just friends."
"Right," Charlotte says with a knowing look. "Friends who have phone sex and sneak into his bedroom and are wearing his clothes while he's away?"
I glance down at the clothes that I'm wearing. "My laundry is dirty."
"What about the outfit that you had on when I came over?" Charlotte is full of questions, and nothing seems to get past her.
"Are we watching the movie or staying up all night gossiping about my lack of a sex life?"
Charlotte quirks a grin. "Yeah, I don't believe this innocent charade anymore, but if you don't want to tell me, fine. I'll get it out of your boyfriend when he's home."
"He's not my boyfriend," I say, but even I don't sound convinced.

I'm busy with classes and work for the remainder of the week. With Jasper out of town with the team, I request a couple of extra shifts at Mad Tea House. I need the money, and the apartment feels empty when I come home at night alone.
