"It has nothing to do with me," I say and jab my finger into her arm. "One of the guys on the Ice Dragons has been asking Jasper, who always sits with me at the games."
"If you're joking, I might actually die." Her mouth is hung agape, wide eyes as she stares at me in awe.
"Get a grip." I laugh. "It's just a little crush."
"Him or me?" she asks. "Please tell me it's Noah. Pretty please." She holds her hands together as if she were begging.
I'm not sure that I should tell her, but Jasper mentioned it, and even Noah has asked a few times casually about my friend who joins me at the games. I thought he was just making conversation and being friendly. It turns out it was something more.
"It's a guy."
"Obviously, and you told him I'm single. Didn't you? Because I'm so single that I think my lady bits are covered in cobwebs."
I snort at her description. "You are too much."
"Well, spill it, girl. What did you tell Jasper?"
"I didn't tell Jasper anything. The hockey player who was asking, I told him you might be available if he woos the crap out of you and puts in a lot of effort. You have a lot of interest from men, and you're picky."
"Fuck you." Charlotte's eyes widen. "I haven't been laid in weeks."
"Oh my gosh, poor baby," I mock. "Relax. We're meeting up after the game for drinks, and I think he's going to shoot his best shot with you tonight."
"Who are we talking about? Is he tall, dark, and handsome?" Charlotte leans forward on my every word. "I need details, and I swear if you tell me it's, like, the guy who sharpens the blades on the skates—"
"It's—" I open my mouth and shut it, teasing her.
"Girl, the suspense is driving me crazy. At this rate, you're just going to make me wait until after the game."
"I should make you wait," I say with a sly grin. "But I can't keep a secret any longer. It's Noah Reece."
She squeals and balls her hands into fists, shaking them excitedly. The girl has no filter and no level of self-control. I used to envy her and the fact that she doesn't have anxiety, but I suspect her mouth lands her into trouble too often.

He never expected the girl whose heart he stole would get him put behind bars…
Everyone has secrets. Mine should have come with a warning label:May cause heartache and emotional trauma.
I’ve only ever been in love once. She ripped my heart out when she dumped me and married another player in the league.
After a perfect night with Charlotte and an incredible first date, my disastrous ex-girlfriend shows up on my doorstep in the middle of the night.
I shouldn’t let her in. I ought to chase her away, but it’s the two-foot blue-eyed little boy that has me awestruck.
And he might be my son.
Professional hockey player, yes.
Father?
I’m waiting on the paternity test to find out the results.
No one knows about him. Not my best friends. Not my team.
And certainly not my new girlfriend, Charlotte. She’s perfect. At least, she seems that way until she calls the cops and gets me dragged off to jail.
