CHAPTER SIX
ELI
F or once, Eli was ready for his intro class to end. He had to force himself to stop checking the clock every five minutes to see if they were any closer to being done.
Normally he loved his final class of the week because it meant that the weekend was here. He could relax and spend uninterrupted time with Jackson, but today he was impatient.
Eli had a no technology policy in his class and he would never have his students do something he wouldn't do himself. Which meant that he couldn't text Jackson about the certain brown haired girl that was currently occupying the third row in his classroom.
Glancing up at the clock again, he noted that it was finally time to start closing the class out.
"For next week, I want you to bring back the company that you are choosing to research as well as any group member names that you want to work with should you choose to. You also need to get a start on reading chapters nine through eleven in preparation for next week's class."
He continued to talk over the sound of zipping bags, "This class only meets in person once a week, so I expect you to do the majority of your class assignments during your own time.
There will be very few opportunities for you to work on them during my lecture hour.
Class is dismissed and I'll see everyone next week. "
Eli turned back towards the papers on his desk, but kept an eye on the girl. Jackson was right, she was a very attractive young lady and he completely understands why his husband has become infatuated with her.
Pulling out his phone, he quickly pulled up the messages between them.
Eli: You won't believe who is in my Friday intro class.
Jackson: Oh God...please don't make me sit here and guess. You know that I don't like that game.
Rolling his eyes, Eli laughed at his husband's text. Jackson might say that he hated guessing games, but they both knew that wasn't the case.
Eli: Spare me the dramatics Pup. I had a certain brown haired girl sitting in my third row who looked a lot like you described.
Jackson: What do you mean?
Eli: I mean that Destiny was in my intro class this morning.
Jackson: There's no way that's possible.
Eli: I know that I'm older than you, but I'm not senile. I don't need glasses just yet.
Eli: Unlike a certain Pup I know.
Jackson: Okay..,One-Rude. Let's not point out that I need reading glasses at the age of 32. Plus we both know how turned on you get when I put my sexy librarian glasses on
Jackson: Two-I didn't say that it wasn't possible because I was calling you senile and blind, you jackass. I was saying it wasn't possible because Destiny has been sitting in my library for the past forty-five minutes.
Deciding to come back to the jackass name, Eli focused on the other part of his husband's message. If it was true that Destiny had been with Jackson the whole time, then who was the girl that was sitting in the third row.
Eli had access to a class roster every semester, but he had never been the type of teacher who took roll every morning. He was a firm believer that those who wanted to succeed in his class would show up and it wasn't his job to police who was here and who wasn't.
Eli: Okay, well if that wasn't Destiny...then who was the adorable Little girl sitting in my class?
Jackson: I'm not sure, but we will get to the bottom of it.
Eli: Also, don't think I didn't see the name calling. You will pay for that later, Pup.
Jackson: I'm counting on it, Sir
He shook his head and put his phone down. His husband kept him on his toes, but that was one of the things Eli loved the most. Jackson was the carefree spirit to his serious one. They balanced each other out perfectly.
The buzzing of his phone stopped his progress of packing up the rest of his things. Looking over to see if it was someone important, Eli saw that it was Jackson again. Knowing his husband it was probably him having another cheeky response.
Jackson: OH MY GOD!
Jackson: TWINS!
Jackson: THEY ARE TWINS!!!
Eli stared at the text, unable to move to respond. Twins? There was no way. Of course he wasn't stupid and knew twins existed, but he never would have considered that the Little girl that Jackson had become infatuated with was a twin.
Jackson: I'M GOING TO NEED YOU TO TEXT BACK RN CAUSE I AM FREAKING OUT OVER HERE!
Eli: Simmer down, Pup.
Eli: How do you know they are twins?
Jackson: I know I am looking at two girls who are carbon copies of each other.
Jackson: Your girl has extremely long hair, correct?
Eli: That could be anyone, Jackson.
Jackson: Light and dark purple lace dress with black sandals that have a bow on the side. She has a purple bow in her hair.
Eli: Uh...yeah? That was the girl who was sitting in my class today.
Jackson: Then trust me when I say...this is your girl. Who is sitting talking to my girl...and I know I need glasses but even I can tell they are twins.
What in the world were they going to do with this information? When they had decided to start looking for their future Little, the thought never occurred that she would be a twin. Eli's phone buzzed again in his hand.
Jackson: We have a lot to talk about tonight when we get home.
Eli: I agree. I'll see you soon.
Eli quickly finished packing up his things and made his way out the classroom. He didn't want to waste another second here. He knew that he should just go home, but his feet had other plans in mind. Before he knew it, Eli was standing outside the library front doors.
Not that he didn't believe his husband, but Eli needed to see for himself that there really were two of them. It's like his brain wouldn't believe it until he laid eyes on them.
Grabbing the handle, Eli opened the door and slipped inside making his way towards where his husband sat at the front desk. Stopping in front of him, Eli raised his eyebrows in question knowing that Jackson would know exactly what he was asking about without him ever saying a word.
"They are sitting in the back corner, just on the other side of this bookshelf. If you stand at the end of the desk you can look over and see them both without them knowing."
Nodding his head, Eli slipped just to the other side of the desk and looked around for the table that Jackson mentioned.
It took him less than a second to spot his girl from earlier and sitting right beside her was exactly what Jackson said.
A carbon copy of his Little girl, only her hair was shorter and she of course was wearing a different color of the same dress.
Eli immediately knew that they would have both of them. He didn't know what made him come to that conclusion, but he couldn't imagine any other scenario where they would only have one twin.
"See. I told you they were twins. What are we going to do?"
Eli stepped away and made his way back out the library, but not before whispering his reply.
"They're ours."
Eli was standing at the counter preparing the salad for dinner later that evening when he heard Jackson's key turn in the lock.
"Welcome home, love."
"Mhm, something smells good in here."
"I made lasagna for dinner."
"Did you use your mom's recipe?"
"Is there any other lasagna that you would eat?"
"Not a chance."
He turned and pressed a kiss on Jackson's cheek before going back to chopping up the lettuce that they needed for the salad.
"So, how was the rest of your afternoon at the library?"
"Why don't you ask me what you really want to ask?"
Eli rolled his eyes at Jackson's comment. The brat wasn't wrong though. They both knew that Eli wanted to know one thing about the rest of his day and that was to see if he found anything else out about the girls.
"Fine. Did you figure anything out?"
"I actually did. I used my super spy techniques and found out the name of the sister."
"Super spy techniques? By that you mean you just asked her?" Eli questioned chuckling.
"Well when you put it that way it doesn't sound as much fun now does it?"
Giving Jackson a look of exasperation, "Well, are you going to spit it out?"
"The other half to our dynamic duo is Jessa."
"Jessa.... Jessa... I like that name."
"Well I would sure hope so considering she can't change it."
"That’s twice now Pup, that you have smarted off at the mouth. Don't forget that you called me a jackass this afternoon, as well."
"Mhm and what exactly do you plan on doing about it?"
"Someone can't have smart remarks when their mouth is full and I know exactly how I plan to fill yours."
Eli watched Jackson's eyes darken, also knowing exactly what was going to happen.
"Put the salad in the fridge while I turn the oven on warm. We won’t have dinner until after I teach a certain Pup their lesson."
He watched a shiver rake its way down Jackson's body before he turned to do what was asked of him. Once everything was handled with the food, Eli grabbed Jackson's hand and led him into the living room.
Dropping a pillow on the ground, he pointed at it saying, "You know the position. Kneel, Pup."
This was exactly what they both needed to clear their minds after all the new information they learned this afternoon.
An hour later, both men sat at the table and were ready for dinner.
"What did you mean earlier when you said, 'they're ours'?"
"I meant exactly that. We may have only been looking for one Little girl to make us complete, but we found two. Tell me that you didn't have that same thought when you looked at them both sitting there today."
"I won't deny that the thought briefly crossed my mind, but is that really what you want? It's already going to be taboo enough that we are going to be dating one student, do you really want to make it two?"
"It would be hard and I don't doubt that there would be struggles involved, but yeah.
That's exactly what I want, I want them both, Jackson.
I may not have met Destiny yet, but from how you talk about her, I know I'll like her just as much as you do.
Just like I know you will feel the same about Jessa. "
