CHAPTER ELEVEN
DESTINY
S he couldn’t believe it. Jackson was sitting beside her on the floor while she worked on decorating the Christmas picture frame sitting in front of her. After the men showed up, it took a little while for her to feel comfortable enough to slightly slip back into Little space.
It wasn’t easy letting strangers see her like that, but then she remembered that they weren’t actually strangers. Her and Jess had spent the past sixteen weeks getting to know them, stealing sweet and intimate moments between their hectic class schedules.
That didn’t stop the panic that had bubbled up when D noticed it was them that had stepped into the room.
She was grateful that Jessa broke the tension and helped calm her panic by telling the guys they weren’t exempt from their antics.
Destiny knew that neither of them were prepared for what happened next.
Seeing the two men kiss like they had no concern in the world was something else, but Destiny couldn’t help but feel a little off. She of course found the men attractive, but she couldn’t figure out why seeing that didn’t turn her on like people always said happened to them.
There was no fire burning deep within her belly. No warmth flooding her knickers. No deep desire to watch it progress further. That’s not to say that she didn’t find it attractive, Des just didn’t feel the same things that others do.
Deciding to not focus on that part of herself in this moment, she pushed the thoughts that she was broken out of her brain, turning her focus to the things in front of her.
She had a picture frame to finish and there was no way she was letting this time with Jackson and Eli slip away from her while she tried to dissect her feelings.
“Mr. Jackson, can you please hand me the pink glitter marker beside you?”
Destiny opened her hand waiting for Jackson to drop the marker she asked for into her palm. She gave him a cheeky grin as he did what she asked before turning back to the craft in front of her.
Eli sat on the other side of her working with Jess on her craft. This wasn’t how she expected today to go, but Destiny felt content sitting there with her friends and the men that would maybe one day be her Daddies.
A few hours had passed and all the Littles had slipped into Rae’s nursery to sit and play with dolls before calling it a night. It wouldn’t be much longer before Olivia would need to leave, so they were trying to make the most of the little bit of time they had together.
The men had stayed in the living room cleaning up the mess from the last craft and dinner, so the twins were using this time to grill Rae and Olivia about everything they knew.
“Did you know that Eli and Jackson were married?” D asked, looking at Raelyn. Rae gave her a slight nod before clearing things up for them.
“When you mentioned to me that there were some guys at the college that you and Jessa were getting close to I didn’t realize it was the Wests that you were talking about. You only ever referred to them as their first name and well that could be anyone.”
Destiny thought back to all the conversations they had with Rae about the guys and she was right. Never once did they mention a last name, nor any details that would have given away exactly who they were talking about.
Her and Jessa had decided that it was pointless to give too many details about Jackson and Eli because they knew nothing could come of it. There was no reason to harp on the things that they couldn’t have and up until tonight, neither of the twins thought that they would be able to have them.
Jessa piped up next, asking the question that was burning in the back of Destiny’s mind as well. “Did you know it was them that would be coming tonight?” Rae had the decency to look ashamed at that question which told Destiny that she did know and chose not to say anything.
“I did. Eli had reached out to Emmett a couple weeks ago and they all went out to lunch together. The guys laid it out to Emmett that they had fallen for both of you and were determined to make you theirs.”
Rae took a small breath before continuing. Destiny could tell that keeping this secret from her and Jess had been eating at their sister. Knowing that helped ease the anger she felt towards the situation.
“Emmett came home and told me about it since we don’t keep secrets from each other and because as your sister he wanted to make sure that I was okay with the possibility you would be dating older men. Especially since those same men were in positions of authority over you.”
Tense silence fell over the room. No one said anything, just trying to take the time to process.
Before either of the twins could speak up about the thoughts racing through their minds, a throat cleared from the doorway.
Everyone turned and looked at where Eli and Jackson stood at the entrance of the room.
“Well, we had planned on explaining everything to Jessa and Destiny later this week, but it seems like we don’t have to now. At least not that part of things.” Jackson said looking down at where they were all laying down on the floor.
“I’m sorry, Mr. West. I know that I should have let you just explain things, but I’m a terrible liar and they are my sisters. I just got them back into my life and I don’t want to lose them,” Raelyn whispered, tears forming in her eyes.
Destiny slid over to where her sister was, watching Jess do the same thing on the other side. Wrapping her arms around Raelyn, she whispered reassurance to her. D wasn’t going anywhere and she wanted to make sure Raelyn knew that.
“Call me Jackson or Uncle J. We aren’t upset with you, Rae. We understand why you were filling them in on what you knew and we would never ask you to lie to your sisters.”
Sniffling, Rae nodded her head. Hearing Emmett call out for her, each girl leaned over and gave her one last hug before she left the room. Olivia was next as Miles called for her, explaining that it was time to leave, as well.
The room fell quiet again as Eli, Jackson, Jessa, and Destiny sat there, no one willing to break the silence.
Destiny heard a throat clear and Eli stepped forward, “Alright Little girls, it seems like this conversation that we need to have will be coming sooner than later. Can we come pick you girls up for breakfast tomorrow? We can spend the afternoon together afterwards, if you want to.”
Des turned towards Jessa, once again having a conversation without saying a single word.
“Eli, it seems like we are going to have to learn twin telepathy if we have any chance of not being walked over by our sweet Little girls.” A blush bloomed across D’s face just as the same happened to her sister.
“Good luck with that. We have had many years to perfect our nonverbal communication. You don’t stand a chance Mister,” Jessa smartly sassed, giving Jackson a grin. “We would love to go have breakfast with you guys. I think we deserve a full explanation.” Destiny nodded her head agreeing with Jess.
“Of course you deserve an explanation and we hope to give you that. We can come pick you up here tomorrow morning at nine,” Eli said as he reached down offering a hand to Jessa and Destiny.
She watched a smile grace his face when they both reached up, placing their hand in his letting him assist them to standing.
“Now, I do believe that it’s bedtime for two Little girls. Can we walk you both to your room?”
Both girls nodded and followed Eli out of the playroom with Jackson trailing close behind.
As they reached the bedroom, Eli turned and pressed a small kiss against Jessa’s forehead before turning the same to Destiny.
Jackson followed suit before opening the door and ushering them inside.
“Sleep well, Little ones. We will see you tomorrow morning.”
“Goodnight!” Wished both girls before Destiny reached out and closed the door, sagging against it once they were both alone. “What a night it has been J.”
“I agree, what a night it has been. Are you sure you’re okay with everything that happened tonight?”
“I don’t know honestly. My brain is a jumbled mess, but I’m not upset in the slightest. Just tired and ready to call it a night.
” Jess smiled before pulling her over to the bed where their pajamas waited for them.
Once dressed, the girls crawled into bed and cuddled together.
It didn’t take long before the beating of Jessa’s heart lured Destiny asleep.
Destiny heard Jessa reach over and slam a hand down on the buzzing alarm. Butterflies erupted in her belly as she realized what that alarm meant. It was time to get up and prepare for the day. A day which they would be spending with Eli and Jackson.
“Ugghhhh, it’s too early in the morning. We are on semester break, why do we need to get up just as the sun is peeking over the horizon.” Destiny rolled her eyes. Her twin could be so dramatic at times.
“J, it’s clearly been a while since the sun came up, you buffoon.” D giggled as she danced out of the reach of her sister’s tickling fingers. She loved picking on J and knew that there would be payback later. “Plus, you know what we are doing today. Do you really want to miss that?”
She watched Jessa’s eyes brighten at the mention of the guys. They both had it bad and Des couldn’t help but wish today’s conversation played out in their favor. She would be heartbroken if it didn’t.
Sliding out of the bed and flouncing over to the closet, she opened it knowing exactly what dress to wear today.
Pulling out her favorite pastel pink, yellow, and purple color block dress and bending down snatching up her black hightops, D dropped everything on the bed before settling in at the vanity to once again tame the lion’s mane that was her hair.
Destiny turned her head just as her sister was walking out of the bathroom. Jessa looked confident in the cut off shorts, black crop top, and black combat boots.
