CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE

CY

“We gotta talk,” Davis announces, taking a seat across from me in the seat my woman just vacated.

Alanna and Rebel were going to handle some things for work that Rebel needed my woman for. Thank fuck it didn’t mean her leaving the clubhouse. Not when I’ve got shit about to go down.

This morning, I put plans into place to start coming down on her mother, and I didn’t want anything to happen to her in the process.

“About what?” I ask, cocking a brow while I lift my freshly filled coffee mug to my lips.

“Your plans you’ve set in motion this morning.”

“See, plans are already in motion.”Smirking, I set the coffee mug down and lean back in my chair, legs stretched out under the table. “I’m not putting a stop to what’s been started.”

“Did I ask you to?” Davis growls. “Look, I don’t give a fuck what you do to my mother. Willis and I both agree she deserves whatever falls on her. What we don’t want to happen is for our sister or niece to be affected by it.”

“And why would they be affected?” He has my full attention with this announcement.

“Because she’ll drag the truth out about who Alanna’s birth father was and, in doing so, bring forth a lot more questions for our sister.”

“You know you two don’t share the same father?” Interesting.

“Our father isn’t our father, according to our mother. Alanna, Willis, and I share the same biological father. The man who our mother is married to, she refused to give a child to because she’s a bitch like that. Arranged marriage, if you will.”

“And you father would be?”

“Doesn’t matter since he’s dead. Has been for a few years now.” Davis shrugs, leans forward, and glances around the room. “What will raise questions is the fact that we have two other brothers and a sister. Half siblings, I should say, on his side. More than that, those siblings are a hell of a lot closer than you all realize.”

Two other brothers and a sister?

The fuck?

They’re closer than we realize?

How the fuck is that possible? Alanna isn’t even from this area.

“Explain,” I demand, straightening in my seat.

“I do, you don’t get on the phone and bring ‘em into this shit. None of them need this shit. They don’t even know about us.”

My gut tightens, and it’s telling me I already know the answer. It’s one I’m not going to like.

“Who?” I grind out.

“Father’s name is Cormac. Irish line and tied to the Irish mob. Had two sons, twins, with one woman. A daughter with another. They’re older than us and have lives of their own.”

Twins.

A daughter.

Father’s name is Cormac.

Connections to the Irish.

Fucking hell.

“Dragon and Gadget? Badger’s ol’ lady?” I growl, balling my fingers in to fists.

“Yeah,” Davis grunts and glances around. “They don’t know about us, and we’d like to keep it that way.”

“Considering it was Jordan who sent Alanna here, got a feeling she already knows something.”

“And she might, considering the hell she lived through.”

I could see Davis’s jaw tick as he nods.

“Why would this fuck with my woman and bring up questions?” I ask, wanting him to clarify this all up for me.

“Alanna’s had a shit life. Where ours was shit, hers was shittier. We stuck around long enough to make sure she was old enough to run. We didn’t protect her as we should’ve, and that’s something Willis and I both have to live with. However, if we can keep her from having to deal with more fucked up shit, then we’ll do just that. Willis and I left our mission we were on to take care of her when we heard about the accident, and then you left the trail for us to follow.” His eyes lock on mine. “You’re smarter than leaving a trail. You wanted us here. Wanted answers. Well, now you’ve got them. So, tell me what the hell you’ve got planned.”

I watch him closely, nod, and get to my feet. “You want to know? Then grab your brother and follow me.”

My brothers and I needed to go over what was happening. Get the updates going, and these two might as well be in there with us.

Plus, my brothers are gonna need to hear this shit about who Alanna’s father is. It would definitely fit in more with why Jordan sent Alanna to us.

However, that shit doesn’t explain everything. She could’ve easily told us all about sending Alanna here, and she would’ve had the help she needed a helluva lot sooner than she got it.

I’ll have to talk with my brothers, figure out what to do with this information because I sure as fuck don’t know what to do with it right now. Dragon and Gadget deserve to know they’ve got other siblings. At the same time, Alanna doesn’t need more shit that could fuck her head up more than it’s already been fucked up.

“You should call them,” Savage remarks.

“Why the fuck don’t they already know this shit?” Bruiser demands. “If she was my fuckin’ sister, I’d damn well want to know.”

“Agreed,” Savage growls. “They got a sister they don’t know about. For that matter, they got two brothers and a fuckin’ sister they don’t know about. They won’t give a shit we drop this bomb on them.”

“They’ll give a shit we keep it from them,” Malice finishes, grimacing.

“You’re right,” Hammer agrees and looks around the room, eyes stopping briefly on me, then looking at the two men at the end who were still standing.

Neither Davis nor Willis tried sitting at our table. They stood there silently, watching, listening. Other than when they explained the family ties to my brothers, they’d not spoken a word.

“When I spoke to Jackson and Twister the other day, they said they were gonna look more into this all. Means Gadget was gonna be getting on it. If he doesn’t already know, he’ll know soon enough. It’s best to fill them in on what we know before he and Dragon end up losing their minds. You know they will if they find out we know this shit and didn’t tell them,” Hammer remarks, a grim expression focused on my woman’s brothers. “You might not want them to know, get that, respect that, but those two men are my brothers and their sister, Jordan, she’s the ol’ lady to one of our brothers.”

I glance at both Davis and Willis, now seeing the resemblance to Dragon and Gadget. They’ve got the same eye color and hair color.

“What are you going to do with?—”

The door bursts open, interrupting Davis’s question. We all look in the direction to find members of the Franklin Charter stalking into the room, dark expressions on their faces.

“Looks like you couldn’t wait,” Hammer grunts, eyes on Twister.

“You know this couldn’t wait, Hammer,” Twister grumbles, moving around the room. Eyes going to the men at the end of the table.

“Someone want to explain what the fuck is going on and why no one decided to share we got a fuckin’ sister?” Gadget snarls, Dragon right next to him.

“Sister and two brothers,” I correct him and jerk my chin toward Davis and Willis. “Dragon, Gadget, meet Davis and Willis. They’re your younger brothers. Alanna is somewhere in the clubhouse.”

Slowly, Dragon and Gadget look at their half-brothers, and you can visibly see their jaws clinching. Dragon looks ready to breathe fire, and Gadget isn’t far behind him.

“Cormac was a fuckin’ motherfucker. If he wasn’t already dead, I’d kill him again,” Dragon states, his voice grated and harsh.

“Why didn’t Jordan ever tell us any of this?” Gadget grunts.

“Because, as she told me, there was enough bullshit going on with the club, she didn’t want to add anything more. It’s why she told Alanna to come here. She told her she’d be safe. She and I had that shit out, so don’t go trying to jump your sister’s ass over it,” Badger remarks. “I had to replace that car, and she told me not to worry about going after it. Or reporting it stolen. She gave it the fuck away. Did it knowing the girl was her sister and kept that shit to herself.”

“That explains about the fuckin’ car,” I mutter to myself.

I wondered about how Jordan was able to give her car to Alanna without Badger going after the damn thing. Hell, Jordan’s been working at the health clinic Connors runs for years but stayed part-time at the hospital, same as Connors. Though Connors worked the ER, Jordan was in labor and delivery.

I lift my eyes to Badger’s and cock a brow. “How is it that Jordan figured everything out?”

“She knew Alanna’s mother upon seeing her. Knew who she was, overheard the conversation she and her husband had in the hallway. My woman put two and two together, kept her mouth shut, got Alanna out of there,” Badger answers. “Full disclosure, the money she gave Alanna, she cleared out of our savings to give her.”

“Oh shit,” Bruiser grunts.

“It was something she told me at the time. I just had to trust her, and I fuckin’ did. Pissed as fuck I didn’t push her, but I know my woman. She doesn’t do shit without a good reason.”

“She should’ve called one of us to tell us. Least then, Alanna wouldn’t have been on her own for two years before she ended up befriending Willow while at school, which then landed her ass in a job working for Rebel.”

“Shit, she works for Rebel?” Gadget grumbles and reaches up to pinch the bridge of his nose.

“Yeah, you got a problem with that?” Rogue growls, going on the defense.

“Just that your woman is a pain in the ass and stubborn as fuck when it comes to shit.” Gadget lowers his hand, lets out a breath, and looks directly at Rogue. “She’s a menace to society, and you damn well know it.”

I’m her cousin, and I damn well agree with him. So, I know for a fact Rogue agrees. Hell, we all fucking know she’s a pain in the ass and sometimes doesn’t give a shit about whether or not she’s a menace. She’ll do what the fuck she wants and tell everyone to fuck off while she’s doing just that.

“Can we get back on topic here?” I finally demand, wanting to get this shit dealt with so I can get back to Alanna and Charlotte. Tomorrow’s Alanna’s birthday, and I’ve got shit to take care of before then.

Men from the Franklin Charter shift around the room, taking up space against the wall. Hammer looks directly at me and nods. “Right time to discuss what you mentioned the other day. You’ve got shit in motion for the mother. Now, let’s take out the fuckwad that wants to take your woman and girl.”
