Chapter
Twenty-Three
Sliding inside Alannah felt like coming home.
It was like putting the jigsaw puzzle pieces together and no longer having parts missing.
It was belonging.
It was acceptance.
It was perfection.
And the breathy moan that fell from her lips made it that much better. Jake loved that she was a moaner, loved that it was his name falling from her plump lips. Loved the blissed out look on her face as he prepped her for orgasm number four.
Keeping his pace slow and steady, he rocked his hips ignoring the burning need inside him and the fact that his length felt hard enough to break concrete.
Watching his girl come was better than any brief rush of pleasure, knowing he was the one who was making her come so easily, time after time, when she’d spent all her adult life believing something was wrong with her and she couldn’t orgasm.
That was what loving someone was about.
“How are you doing this,” she said on another moan as his fingers played with her bud. “I thought I was broken and now you have me coming over and over again. Magic. Gotta be magic.”
Laughing seemed to come so easily when he was with Alannah. She offered him a freedom nothing else ever had and he lapped it up like he was starving.
Because in a lot of ways he was.
The scared little boy who learned to do everything for himself, who so desperately wanted to be loved, was one he’d locked away out of necessity.
His dad and stepmom had needed all of them to be strong, to work together to find answers that would clear both their names.
But being with Alannah was a safe place to just be.
He hoped that was what he offered her in return.
“I-I'm going to come a-again,” Alannah cried out.
Her internal walls fluttered, and he felt himself reaching his own high when someone spoke on the other side of the bedroom door.
“Sorry to interrupt, lovebirds, but you're needed in the living room,” Jax called out.
“Oh, I forgot he was still here,” Alannah said, cheeks brightening in embarrassment as he felt the pleasure that had been building inside her begin to recede.
Unacceptable.
He’d also forgotten Jax was still there, but with the threat not eliminated and their flight out to Delta Team not until today his little brother had volunteered to stay and watch over them so he could be there for Alannah.
“Come,” he ordered his sunshine. No one was stealing this bit of pleasure from her, she deserved only good things.
“I can't,” she whispered.
“So easily you forget. You come as many times as I want you to because you're mine,” he growled, doubling down on his efforts and working her bud the way he’d already learned had her writhing and pleading.
His own pleasure had receded, but as he watched his ministrations bring Alannah back up to the edge, he felt his own pleasure return. Nothing was more of a turn on than his girl breathless and needy beneath him.
“Come for me, baby girl,” he ordered as he thrust deep into her and pressed against her bundle of nerves.
Just like that she combusted for him.
When her internal muscles clamped around him it set off his own orgasm and the world ceased to exist as a rush of ecstasy flooded his system, consuming him in fiery passion and pleasure.
“That had to be the most embarrassing thing ever,” Alannah muttered, but her eyes were still dark with desire and she rocked her hips against him as little aftershocks hit both their systems.
“Just sex, sunshine. Jax has had it before and he knows we have too. Nothing to be embarrassed about.”
“But he heard us. He was right outside the door while we were right in the middle of things.”
“And if he makes you feel embarrassed about it then I’ll make sure he only does it once.”
A smile lit up her face. “My hero.” Reaching up, she framed his face and tugged it closer to hers so she could kiss him.
Hero.
Something he still felt like he had failed at too many times to count when it came to the girl he had vowed to protect. But he was working on catching those feelings any time they popped up and wrangling them under control before they could settle in his mind like a cancerous tumor.
“We better get cleaned up and into the living room,” he said as he reluctantly pulled out of Alannah’s heat.
“I thought we weren't catching the plane until lunchtime,” Alannah said, sitting up as soon as his weight was no longer pressing into her.
“Nuh-uh, stay there,” he ordered when she went to stand, then left her on the bed as he headed into her bathroom to grab something to clean her up with.
A few minutes later they were both clean and dressed, and he had her in his arms, carrying her down the hall to the living room so Alannah didn't put too much pressure on her injured feet. It wasn't just Jax who was there waiting for them, all four of his stepbrothers were there as well.
Even though they hadn't been in relationships all that long it felt kind of weird to see them without their other halves.
As he set Alannah down on the empty couch and she nestled in to his side and rested her head on his shoulder when he sat beside her, he realized how glad he was to have found his own other half.
Wishing he’d realized he was in love with his best friend earlier was easy to do, but in the end, they’d found their way together even if it had taken them almost losing their lives to do it. Everything had worked out the way it was supposed to.
Almost.
Because there was still one more rapist who was desperate to keep his identity a secret, and until they found him and brought him to justice his family would never be truly safe.
Which meant all the plans he had for a future with his sunshine had to be put on hold. Not something he was happy with. Their lives already felt like they’d been on hold and were only now just really starting.
“You guys look happy,” Jax said with a teasing grin.
“Jax,” he warned. No way was he letting his little brother embarrass Alannah about enjoying sex after she’d spent half her life thinking something was wrong with her in that regard.
“What?” Jax’s grin grew wider. “I'm happy for you guys. We all are,” he added, indicating the rest of their brothers who were watching him with warm smiles as he slipped his arm around Alannah’s shoulders and brought her closer against him.
“We are, man, and the girls are dying to get Alannah out there with them so they can find out every little detail of how you got together,” Cooper told them.
“But before we leave, we all need to talk,” Cade added, always the logical one who brought them back to the task at hand. Jake knew how much of a burden the pressure of responsibility had been to Cade, which was why he’d tried to shoulder as much of it as he could.
“You found something?” Jake asked. Irresponsible of him maybe, but he’d checked out of anything that wasn't Alannah when he came to her place the previous night. She deserved his full attention and he’d been determined to give it to her, but that had obviously meant they’d missed out on a revelation.
“We found it ,” Cole corrected.
He hardly dared to hope. “Does that mean …?”
“It means we finally know what goes with an Egyptology professor, a principal of an elite private school, and a transplant surgeon,” Connor answered.
“You got his name,” Jake said as energy flooded his veins. They’d been searching for these names since they were teens, and it felt surreal to have finally got to this place.
“Look familiar?” Cooper slid a photograph across the coffee table.
Snatching it up, Jake nodded immediately. “His features are similar to Cassandra’s, the hair color is the same, and he even has a little birthmark at the bottom of his chin just like she does. Who is he and how did you find him?”
“It was the boat,” Cade explained. “It took a bit of work, but Prey’s cyber division were able to find out who owns it.”
“His name is Samson Kennedy,” Connor said.
“He was the Ambassador to Egypt while mom was working for the CIA,” Cole added.
“He’s now the Ambassador to France,” Jax told him, a darkness on his face that said there was still something that his brothers hadn't shared and whatever it was Jax didn't like it.
“We have a plan to bring him down but it’s not going to be easy.
We need more than a DNA match to Cassandra to prove paternity because he can just lie and say it was consensual and everyone else who could corroborate that is dead.
He already filed a report to say his boat was stolen so we can't use that either.”
“Then what are we going to use?” Jake asked as he leaned in to kiss Alannah’s temple, needing to feel her close as the culmination of almost twenty years of searching came to a head.
“His daughter,” Jax replied.
What should be an easy way to bring down the man responsible for destroying his family becomes anything but for Jax Holloway in the sixth and final book in the action packed and emotionally charged Prey Security: Charlie Team series!
