Is it wrong that I now want to know if I died in anyone’s dream and how? Probably, but I’m going to ask anyway. “Did I die in anyone’s dream?”
“Mine,” Titus says.
“And mine,” Sal says.
“Mine too,” Ebby says.
“And mine,” Justice says.
“Mine as well,” Temp adds.
“Mine too,” Nix says.
I stop and look at them. “They killed me in every dream?” I ask in shock, then smile. “I’m still the bane of their existence.”
Everyone laughs.
“I’ve never seen someone so happy to be the bane of anyone’s existence,” Sly says, shaking his head at me.
“What can I say, it’s fun,” I reply grinning.
Adhan lifts our joined hands and kisses mine laughing at me.
You would think with all of us true witches that the brothers and Alfred would stay home wouldn’t you? Nope, they have all come along with us. I internally shake my head. One day they’ll realise we’re grown adults. Mind you after this morning, I can’t blame them for coming.
“So, how did I die, was it impressive?” I ask.
“Morbid much?” Kean asks.
“What?” I reply. “Enquiring minds want to know.”
“You’re weird,” Nix says to me.
“You’re only figuring this out now?” the love of my life says, booming with laughter.
Everyone except me joins in. That’s not in the least bit funny. I pull my hand out of his hold. Silly wolfman.
I spy Elliot up ahead and leave my ridiculous family and walk towards him.
“Hey Elliot,” I say in greeting, pulling him into a hug.
He pats my back. “Are you all okay?” he asks, pulling back.
“My family is mad, it’s quite sad really,” I say, shaking my head.
“Says the morbid one,” Cam says, as they join us.
Elliot looks at me. “Why are you morbid?”
“The dark witches gave all of us the same nightmare last night. Us in the haunted house dying. I apparently died in everyone’s dream, and I wanted to know how I died,” I tell him.
Elliot laughs. “I think I’d want to know as well. It should be a spectacular death, nothing boring like a stabbing or shooting.”
“Well... it depends on the stabbing. I mean if it was just some thug, that would be disappointing, but if it was Chucky, that wouldn’t be so bad.” I say.
“Well if it helps, the murdering dolls did kill you,” Justice tells me. “They knocked you down, staked you to the attic floor and took turns stabbing you to death.”
I grin. “See now that was an awesome death, no stabbing thugs for me.”
