Pa is still laughing and wraps his arms around Alfred.
Adhan and Titus walk over to us.
“Everything alright?” Titus asks.
I nod. “Yeah they just realised they are grandpa and grandson, so they’re having a moment.”
Pa pulls back and laughs. “And now my grandsons outnumber my granddaughters.”
I pat his arm. “I’m happy for you Pa. I know how much you wanted grandkids.”
“Well, I’m glad I could help,” Alfred replies laughing.
Adhan and Titus leave a little later and the rest of the day is busy for the three of us. We’re all pleased when we close the shop. It doesn’t take long to tidy and cash up. Thankfully, Alfred drove here today, so he is driving us home, Pa coming with us as he declared he was helping babysit tonight, Ma is going to join him.
We walk in and see we are the last ones back.
“Evening family,” I say generally.
We get greetings back and I hug my Ma. As soon as Xander and Enoch see Pa they run over and hug him.
“Did you two have fun?” he asks them.
“So much fun. We made things,” Xander said.
“We can’t show you until tomorrow though as they need to slowly cool down. But Nix and Sal were really patient with us and helped us make vases, paperweights and we made some caterpillars,” Enoch says happily.
“I’m glad you both had fun,” Pa says.
“They all did, judging by the laughter coming from the workroom,” Jodie tells us.
“It was a lot of fun,” Nix says. “If I get another furnace, I could offer workshops or courses.”
“I can imagine people would love that,” I say.
“They would,” Jodie agrees. “We’ve had a few enquiries already asking if Nix runs any.”
“It’s something to think about anyway,” Nix replied.
I look at Ebby and Sly who are looking totally blissed out. “I don’t need to ask how your afternoon was,” I say grinning at them.
“It was fun,” Sly says. “I can’t wait until we move into our new house.”
“Sick of living out of a B&B?” Kean asks them.
Both Ebby and Sly nod.
“Yeah. Sometimes you just want to stay in and chill, but in a B&B or sometimes in the hotels we’ve stayed in, you feel like you have to go out. I’m not planning on leaving the house for a few days when we move in.” Ebby says.
“It will take us that long to unpack everything,” Xander points out.
“We can help you unpack as well if you want,” Ben offers.
“Thanks, we’ll let you know,” Sly replies.
“Boys, dinner’s ready,” Emily says and in no time at all, the table is set and covered in food.
There is general chat around the table. Cassie walks in a few minutes later.
