“Temp has already added them to the website,” Alfred tells me.
“I love that website,” I say.
The other two agree.
“Right, I’m off to see patients. I’ll see you both at home later,” Justice says.
“I’ll come and find you once I’ve closed the shop,” Alfred says, pulling Justice into a kiss.
Justice wraps his arms around Alfred and kisses him back.
I should pull out the scorecards and rate them, but I shake my head, if they start stripping each other I’m gonna squirt them with my bottle instead. I shrug to myself, why wait? I pick up my bottle and squirt them both, multiple times.
They pull back and glare at me.
“I can’t believe you just did that,” Alfred says, sounding shocked, and wiping the side of his face.
“What? I don’t want to see my stepson and his husband making out like teenagers, thanks very much.”
“Just you wait until you and Adhan have a moment and see what I do,” Justice tells me. “And you two have lots of moments, you’ll never know when I’ll strike and on that happy note, I’m off,” Justice says, touching Alfred’s cheek and walking out of the shop.
“Wait, you can’t do that,” I call out after him.
Justice ignores me and leaves the shop doing a really good impression of an evil laugh.
“I’m going to get coffee and cake and I’m not bringing you any,” Alfred says, spinning around and walking in the direction of the tearoom.
“But I love you,” I call after him.
“Bite me,” he snaps out.
CHAPTER 19
Alfred tried to be grumpy for the rest of the afternoon, but he kept forgetting and we’d laugh and joke and then he’d scowl at me.
Adhan came in to pick me up and the annoying puppy tattled on me and told him Justice’s revenge.
He just smiled at me and said, “Well we do have a lot of moments. We’ll survive whatever he does and you can always get them back.”
“A moment's war, I like it and on that happy note we’re off,” I say grinning at Alfred, repeating Justice’s words, and taking my coat off the coat stand, I slip it on and walk around the counter.
“Now wait, we should talk about this,” Alfred protested. “Daddy you wouldn’t,” the puppy says, pulling out puppy eyes.
Adhan grins at him. “Yep, I most certainly would. Come, sweetheart, let's go home.”
We leave the shop laughing at Alfred.
“I thought we could walk home,” Adhan says, taking my hand and linking our fingers together.
I sigh happily. “Good idea. How did you get on showing the brothers around?”
“They love the house. I still think they have some reservations about the town and being surrounded by so many light witches, but hopefully, we can show them that light witches can be trusted. Enoch’s a little chatterbox, he uses his arms a lot when he’s talking.”
I laugh. “He did earlier when he was telling me about the bear Sly made. Did you talk to them about tonight?”
Adhan nods. “I did. I reassured the younger two that they would be perfectly safe at our house. I also invited them all around for dinner.”
“I wondered why they hadn’t come back into the shop, they said they would.”
