“The feeling isverymutual,” Tag added. “He’s a total dick.”

Aaron chuckled in agreement. “In that case, you’ll all enjoy this. Apparently, Coburn’s been outed as giving good reviews in exchange for gossip for his ‘Little Bird’ column. His paper couldn’t cancel him fast enough.”

“Oh my God,” Tag said, turning to Jay.

Jay’s eyes were wide. “Outed how?”

“Sebastian Talbot ratted on him,” Aaron said. “Or, rather, he claimed Coburn had been threatening to trash his productions if he didn’t hand over backstage gossip. Apparently, it all came out after Talbot’s ex did some kind of kiss-and-tell piece.”

“We saw that,” Tag said, casting another look at Jay. “Sounds like Seb’s trying to cover his arse.”

Jay nodded. “And throwing Austin under the bus to do it is totally on brand for him.” He added with laughing disbelief, “Christ, what a pair of shits.”

“Good to see them get flushed together,” Tag said, relieved by Jay’s laughter. “And good riddance.”

Lewis snorted. “Well it’s the best fucking news I’ve had all day.”

“The best news except for me coming home?” Aaron said, with a blatant flutter of his lashes.

Lewis gave him a direct look. “Speaking of, I think it’s time we headed off.”

“Is your socialising well full up?” Aaron asked, grinning affectionately at him.

Lewis cleared his throat. “Um, not really, but we do have those…plans?” And then he blushed. Yes, Lewis fucking Hunter actuallyblushed. Tag stared at him, fascinated. He hadn’t thought blunt-to-the-point-of-rudeness Lewis was capable of such a thing, but here he was, face as red as a tomato.

“Oh.Oh!” Aaron said, recognition dawning, and then he was blushing too. “Yes, right, we do, don’t we?” He bit his lip, then mouthed aSorryat Lewis.

Tag opened his mouth to make a crack about reunion sex but closed it again when Jay nudged him.

“We need to head off too, actually,” Jay said, twisting his fingers with Tag’s. “Right?”

Oh. Right.

“Yeah,” Tag said. “We’ve got plans too. A big bed-shaped plan two floors up to be specific.” He waggled his eyebrows.

Subtle, he was not, but even Lewis laughed at that.

Once Lewis and Aaron had said goodnight, Tag pulled Jay into a quick, hard kiss, then gasped melodramatically, “Take me to bed, Julius, or lose me forever!”

Jay laughed and got up. “Come on, you nut. I’ve got plans for you too.”

“Intriguing… Care to share?”

Jay just pulled him to his feet and towed him out of the party, waving at a few people as they passed, but not halting to speak to anyone.Man on a mission, Tag thought approvingly.

The suite was pretty small and not nearly as fancy as the last one, but then this hotel wasn’t as fancy. The bed looked good, though. Huge and comfortable, with a cloud of pristine, white bedding, and there on the sideboard was a bucket with a bottle of champagne in it, a platter of sliced fruit, and yes… a box of After Eights tied up in a big red bow.

Tag glanced at Jay, to see his reaction. He knew he’d be pleased—he was always incredibly touched by even the smallest of romantic gestures—but he was still surprised to see the tears glimmering in Jay’s storm cloud eyes.

“Hey,” Tag said softly, pulling him into his arms. “You okay?”

Jay sniffed and nodded, blinking the tears away. “Veryokay,” he said, before covering Tag’s mouth with his own.

Tag had intended to strip Jay out of his historically accurate garments slowly, but somehow they ended up ripping off their clothes and tumbling into the big white bed absurdly quickly, and then it was just their mouths and hands moving, their bodies sliding together, Jay slipping his fingers inside Tag, stretching him carefully before Tag climbed on top and took Jay’s hard, solid cock into his body. Jay was beautiful beneath him, all dark hair and golden skin against the white sheets, his expression nakedly adoring as he watched Tag moving above him, his hands hard on Tag’s hips. When they came, together, it was in a rolling, undulating wave of pleasure that seemed to connect every part of Tag: his happy, spurting cock, his very full heart, and his deliciously fuddled mind.

“Love you,” he mumbled, sprawled on top of Jay like a blanket.

Jay stroked Tag’s sweaty hair back from his forehead and murmured, “Love you too.”

As he lay there, Tag thought about life before Jay. He’d had no time then for more than the occasional hook-up with hot, nameless guys. No time for anything that wouldn’t either earn quick money or boost his acting career. It had been tough, but it had been necessary. Without those years, that focus, he might never have forced the door open wide enough to land the role inBow Streetthat had led to everything else. To Jay.

Yeah, those years had been important. Butthis, with Jay? This was something else—something so muchmore.

Tag knew now that whatever the future had in store for him, be it stardom or obscurity, it wouldn’t matter because he’d have Jay at his side. And finding Jay, loving Jay—being loved by Jay—was the luckiest break of Tag’s life.
