Snow Days & Dumb Bitches
Jade
“Babygirl,” Spade whispers, waking me up. I groan, rolling over, so not ready to get up and start the day.
“Baby, please. It’s an emergency. I need everyone up.” He whispers, trailing kisses down my neck.
“Don’t start that shit. You’ll wake up my traitorous cunt and I won’t be able to concentrate until one of you makes her cum.” I rasp, needing to clear my throat from the deep slumber I was enjoying. Dario rolls over, placing a hand over my bump, rubbing slow circles.
“Spade, what’s going on? Why are we waking her up? The sun is just fucking rising.” He groans.
“Ryder got a call, and it’s not good. I need you all downstairs, immediately!” He says, his tone is lethal. Fuck. Something serious must’ve gone down. I grumble, cursing at the moon and the stars for making me get up this early. Removing the blankets, I stumble to the bathroom and do my thing, but my stomach has other plans. See, this is why I don’t like getting up too soon. Fuck.
After heaving my guts up, I throw on a hoodie, leggings and make my way down to the kitchen. I need some OJ. Now that I'm awake way too early, I’ll be in a whole ass mood all day. They better be prepared for my attitude. Stepping in the kitchen, I almost want to turn around and go back up the stairs.
“Okay, start fucking talking because I have zero patience to play the guessing game.” I spew as they all turn to look at me. Jamie rounds the island, coming straight for me.
“Oh, we woke up and chose violence, huh Siren?” He laughs and I roll my eyes. Looking past him to my brother, who has his head in his hands,
“Ryder, spill it, now!” I command and he looks up at me, eyes swollen and the look of defeat is written over his features.
“She has Ryker, and it’s bad,” he says, sliding his phone to me.
“Who the fuck is ‘She’?” I shout.
“Kayla.” He responds as I press play on the video. My heart slams in my chest as I watch my younger brother beaten and burned with what looks like raised iron marks all over his chest. They burned his club tattoos off his skin. His face is barely recognizable, but what has me extremely concerned are the two guys standing off to the side.
“Guys, whose tattoos are those? I know I’ve seen them before.” I say as they all surround me, staring at the video.
“The Mozorov twins.” Rio says, and my eyes snap to my brother.
“I thought they were taken care of?” I say with narrowed eyes.
“They fucking were. I don’t understand how they are still alive,” he says, pounding his fists against the countertop.
“Well, what are we doing? Do we have his location?” I ask, and Ryder nods.
“Ok, let’s suit up and go get our brother.” I say, but he shakes his head.
“It’s not that easy, Jade.” He says.
“Oh, I can make it very simple.” I say, folding my arms over my chest.
“She wants you in exchange for him,” he says, and I laugh.
“Okay, I’ll bite.” I say, nodding my head as the men I love to death all growl and sneer around me.
“Would you all chill? This is fucking Kayla. The one who can’t get her fucking hands dirty, let alone aim right. Do we need to call in backup? Do we even have the time to plan an ambush? No. So, you are all going to have to help me here.” I spit as Jamie hands me a glass of OJ and Spade slides over my vitamins.
“Thank you, boys.” I say with a grin.
“I’m not sure. You see where he is. I don’t know how high up in the mountains it is. And it’s fucking cold up there.
“Where could she be in the mountains? I just need a fucking moment to think.” I say, but Ryder chimes in.
“I know exactly where they are. I’ll call our guy to hack into the cameras,” he says and Jamie slams his hand on the island.
“What the fuck am I? Chopped liver. Let me grab my laptop. I’ll get us in there,” he says, stomping away, mumbling shit under his breath.
“I always forget he loves to hack. But I’m always too busy dealing with his dickheadedness.” I laugh.
“Okay, while Jay gets us eyes, does anyone want to tell me where is this, exactly?” Spade asks.
“My father’s cabin in the woods, in Amherst, about ninety minutes north of us,” Ryder answers.
“God, I haven’t been there in years, but I know all the secret spots. He trained me there for many, many years. I can walk those woods blindfolded. I mean, he made me do it. I sucked at first, but by the time we were done, I was at an expert level.” I say, and Ryder laughs.
“Yeah, that's because while you were blindfolded, you were being hunted, and fighting your own damn father. Who do you really think taught you everything you know? It wasn’t my dad. It was yours,” he confesses and my heart drops. Yet again most of my life has been a lie.
“How was I supposed to know? This is all news to me, dick,” I say, and he laughs.
“Let’s just get a plan going while we wait for BDE to get back in here.” He says and now it’s my turn to laugh.
“He doesn't need the energy. He’s already huge, and please don’t fucking feed into it. His ego is already sky high.” I say and we all laugh, knowing I’m right.
“Focus. We need to know how many men we need on the ground and in the air.” Rio states.
“Kayla is a fucking idiot for choosing that spot. That place is riddled with spy cameras for miles. We will see every fucking inch of that place and ambush the cunt. She won't even expect it.” Ryder says, and I shake my head.
“Yes, she will. She’s betting on me taking her bait. But it doesn’t matter, I got something for her bitch ass.”
“I’m in.” Jamie yells from the other room. Getting off the barstool, I walk into the living room where he gestures for me to sit on his lap while he works.
“Um, guys, do we have snow gear, or at least snow shoes? The grounds are covered.” I say, looking at the screen.
“We live in New York. Of course we do. Do you think we’re amateurs? The other snow gear is in the garage in the big gray case.” Spade interjects.
“Easy, Babyboy. I know I have gear. Just making sure the rest of you do as well.” I say and he laughs as Jamie gives my hip a little squeeze.
“Those fucks are alive. Pieces of shit., and there’s Kayla.” Jamie points and my blood is ready to boil over.
“There’s not many men on the ground. This shouldn’t be hard and we don’t need backup. But we will need a medic on standby depending on Ryker’s injuries. Then, as for the snow mobiles, we’ll need at least one to get Ryker back to the truck.” Jamie says but I shake my head.
“I want to sneak attack the bitch. No alerting her of my presence until it’s too late. She’s going to expect me to come in like a wrecking ball, guns blazing, but I’m smarter than that, and I have to protect my family.” I say with a sinister smile, and he nods.
“We still need the snow mobiles for after. Spade, bring as much medical supplies as you can,” Jamie says as I gasp.
“Is that?” I say, as I look closer.
“Jaxon?” I whisper, and the whole room goes still.
“I’m stating this now! We get in, do what we need to do, get my nephew and brother to safety. Fuck everyone else.” I spit.
“But she's his mother.” Spade says.
“And? If she was such a great mother, he wouldn’t be in harm's way, now would he? I–” I say but Jamie interrupts,
“What the fuck is that?” He says as Ryder comes to stand beside me, narrowing his eyes at the screen.
“Who is that?” He asks as the others come to look at the screen. The tall man turns his face, holding Jaxon with a smirk, and we all gasp.
“Fucking Monty.” I growl.
“Keep your eyes on him, Jamie, until he leaves. Then we are going to need to call in a favor and watch wherever he goes. My family comes home tonight!” I spit.
They all look at me and nod.
“Alright, let’s suit up,” I order and everyone starts moving. I lean over and place a kiss on Jamie’s cheek, but he moves too quickly and captures my lips with his. Pulling back, I bite his bottom lip, causing him to groan.
“Eyes on that baby, Jamie.” I whisper, and he nods.
“You have my word, Princess.” He says and I get up to leave the room.
Come hell or high water, they both come home tonight. I don’t give a fuck if I have to kill everyone else. My brother and his son come home.
