“Korben, please.” She pleaded, trying to rub her flesh against his rough fingers. “Please.”
His eyes narrowed. He said something to her in that low, disapproving voice.
The irritation spread all along her arms and legs. She knew that because Korben glanced down and the most imperceptible flash of surprise simmered in his eyes. It was there for a moment and then it disappeared, replaced by his usual stoic,I’m a warrior and I have it under controlexpression.
“It’s the bush, isn’t it?” she said. “I’m allergic to it.”
Korben tugged her back to a slumbering Enthara. Her chest screamed and she felt like she was about to go crazy. Like her skin was turning inside out. Since both her legs were free, Sara raised her left thigh and slid it over the right. Relief coursed through her body as she scraped her skin. It wasn’t the good, solidrakethat she needed, but it was enough to ease herself a little.
Korben tapped his arm to awaken his interface and then snapped, “Denizi.”
She knew what that meant.
“So we’ve got no Wi-fi, no ride and no way out.” Sara let out a giant sigh. “Is that it?”
Korben peered at her with his purple eyes. She could see the frustration welling in him, but he didn’t take it out on her. He ran big fingers through his hair and then stopped midway when his gaze landed on her squirming thighs.
“Sah-ah,” he barked in a rough growl.
It was such a sexy sound that, if her skin wasn’t breaking out in alien-plant rashes, she would have popped out with goosebumps anyway. Even now, her body flooded with heat that only made the itching worse.
“You know you’re not helping, right?” She shot him a dark look. “Now’s not the time to make me feel all tingly.”
He stomped toward her and pried her thighs apart, physically separating her legs so she couldn’t scratch. He had to kneel in the dirt to keep hold of both her hands and her ankles. She was trapped. Out of options.
Tears stung her eyes.
No.
She had to scratch.
Had to.
Sara chewed on her bottom lip and eased closer to him. Korben stared her down, his eyes darkening in confusion. She could practically read his thoughts. What are you up to now, human?
“Sorry about this,” Sara whispered. “But I need relief.”
Korben leaned back as she moved in, but he couldn’t put any more distance between them without releasing her wrists. Bending her knees, Sara rubbed her thighs on his chest. Over the blue skin. Over the tattoos.
Oh yes.
Oh.
His body stiffened in response as she rhythmically slid her legs against his face. Her fingers curled and flexed in his grip and she eased them tight around his pinkie, holding on as she stroked her upper thighs on his nose.
Korben lifted his head to scold her, drawing a line to right where she needed him most. She gasped in response, her heart stuttering and her legs buckling like they were made of jello.
Korben inhaled deeply and made a rough, guttural groan deep in his throat. She knew what this looked like. She knew what he was thinking and feeling. The heat skittering between her thighs told her she was edging up on dangerous territory too. But if Korben wanted to restrain her, then she’d just have to use what she could.
This wasn’t about turning him on.
This was about survival.
His excitement wasn’t hurting matters. The harder he became, the more satisfaction she drew from rubbing her flesh against his.
Her heart thumped violently in her chest. She was stirring something up. Sara saw it in Korben’s eyes.
Desire.
