“I’m sorry this is how we are spending our wedding anniversary,” Maizie said against his lips.

“I wouldn’t want to spend it any other way.” He kissed her again. “Let’s have a baby.”

“Let’s have a baby,” she agreed, letting him lead her back to a room.

“Wait.” She froze on the edge of the bed. “You aren’t going to throw up are you?”

His face paled. Five years on the farm, and he still couldn’t manage to dehorn the cows. “I guess we’ll see.” He swallowed hard.

“Dang it, Christian,” she screamed as the pain rose again. “I can’t take you anywhere.”

She cried and pushed, and two hours later, the most beautiful little boy was laid on her chest.

“Did we decide on a name?” Christian asked.

“I think we’ve always known.” She looked at the perfect baby in her arms and saw the faces of the two people they had both lost.

“I love you, Declan Mack,” she said, kissing the top of their baby’s soft brown hair. Love had been lost and found to her throughout her life. But this love would never leave her.
