Jaxson was right.
I needed to speak with someone about it and maybe a therapist would help? Exhaling a heavy sigh a loud thud echoed outside.
My heart leaped and I jumped. I hurried to the window and glanced outside. I expected to see a car and had hoped Hazel was early.
No one was there.
My hands trembled.
I double checked to make sure the alarm was armed.
It wasn’t Ben. He didn’t know where I lived or how to find me. Even if he’d tracked me down to Breckenridge, there was no way he knew that I lived with Jaxson.
He shouldn’t have even known we were an item and he hadn’t mentioned it while I’d been held captive just a few days ago.
Maybe living with Jaxson indefinitely wasn’t such a bad idea. With Jaxson I felt safe and protected.
The truth was that I was afraid, fearful that if I spoke with a therapist, she’d try and convince me to move out. That a relationship with my boss was a terrible idea.
