He glanced at me. “Really?”
My chest tightened, and it came as something of a shock to realize I’d spoken the truth. “Yes, really.”
“Then…” He bit his lip. “Would you do something for me?”
I blinked. “What did you have in mind?”
“Give me tomorrow. Just us. A whole day with nothing but touching, fucking, sleeping…”
Oh God, I loved the sound of that.
“You got a guest room I could use?”
His eyes widened. “You don’t want to sleep with me?”
That earned him an eye-roll. “No, I was thinking of putting the sling up in there. It could be our playroom for when I visit. The chest could go in there too.”
His smile made something inside me turn over. “I like that. Our room.”
I liked it too.
Except it was more than liking the idea of having our own space. What surged through me was warmth at the prospect of seeing him again, spending time with him, talking with him…
Avoiding emotional attachment seemed to have fallen by the wayside, and I didn’t know what to make of that.
Chapter Twenty-Eight
Friday, June 24
Robert
I tapped on the bedroom door. “Can I come in now?”
From inside, I heard Toby’s laugh. “Did anyone ever tell you patience is a virtue?”
“Yeah, but it’s not one of mine.”
More laughter.
“You’ve been in there for an hour,” I groused. Not only that, he’d taken delivery of a mysterious package that morning, and I was dying of curiosity.
“More like forty-five minutes, but who’s counting? And we just spent all morning in bed, so you have nothing to complain about.”
All I knew was, the precious minutes I had left with him were slowly ticking away.
Then the door opened, and he stood there in nothing but a pair of jeans, his feet bare. He grinned. “Okay—nowyou can come in.” He stood aside and I entered, noticing the black tarp under my socked feet, covering most of the wooden floor.
“Is this what arrived this morning?”
“Uh-huh. I ordered it before we left for the south pasture.” Another grin. “Once I sawthat, I knew it’d come in handy.”
Thatwas the sling, set up in the corner, its chrome bars and metal chains gleaming, the leather seat cleaned. Then I noticed the chest below the window. Against the opposite wall stood a table, on which sat ropes, lube, cuffs, a blindfold… The bed had been stripped back to the mattress, folded towels at the foot of it.
Nowit looked like a playroom.
Toby closed the door behind us. “Matt won’t be here for hours. Lunch is already made, waiting for us in the fridge. So it’s just us.” He took a step toward me. “Okay… We started the day with a sixty-nine. I fucked you in the shower. I ate your ass… Have you thought about what else you’d like to do? I mean, I have an idea whatI’dlike to do but this isyourday, after all.”
I wanted it to beourday.
