“Let me speak with him, I’ll send him away.” Veylor gazed up at me and nodded his head like I was to take care of our pet. An order I would do willingly.
I grabbed hold of his arm and he willingly came to me, his lips pressed up against the side of my skull.
“We are all mates, Oryx,” he whispered. “It’s all true. Just… keep it between us for now.” He pulled away, his eyes glassy.
Before I could say another word, his cape bellowed around him and he left us on the steps outside our home.
Vesper stepped to my side and huddled close. “Are we really going to stand here and let him talk to this Sylvaine guy alone?”
Vesper did not hear about Veylor’s revelation to me. Her mind was reeling with curiosity of what was to be said in this meeting.
I chuckled darkly and my tail wrapped around her waist.
“No, we will hide in the shadows, quietly.” I adjusted myself with my growing problem.
Vesper cooed. “Poor baby. You were so good out in town and now you are suffering. Do I need to take care of you?” Her teasing tone did nothing to hide the fact that my come was now leaking out of my pants.
I whimpered.
“Are you smiling at my suffering? You can do that with Veylor, not with me. I am your first owner.”
Vesper scoffed. “You aren’t serious right now? Who is holding the leash?” She bent over and picked up the chain from the ground and then waved it in front of my face. “You are my little minion. Now come with me and I’ll suck you off behind the bushes so you don’t swing your ding dong around and hit a table and get us caught.”
I pranced behind her, sniffing her hair. “But what if I wanted to pleasure you instead?”
Vesper groaned. “I’m going to need more ice cubes.”
I chuckled. I loved my little pet.
Chapter 45
Veylor
The doors banged open as I stormed through them, yanking at the clasp of my cape. Benedict materialized at my side, his fingers already reaching for the heavy fabric as it slipped from my shoulders.
The manor teemed with servants, their footsteps and voices echoing off marble floors and vaulted ceilings. I could release some from service, with enough gold to start anew elsewhere, build homes of their own. They'd want for nothing.
Now that the courts were dissolved they didn’t need me, didn’t need this job any longer.
“He’s in the library, he insisted.”
I hummed and straightened the cuffs on my tunic. “He was so hell-bent on visiting without an announcement?” I arched a brow at Benedict.
In the old courts, arriving without notice would have been a grave insult, but after decades of seclusion, perhaps the rules of fae courtesy had shifted without me.
Benedict smoothed the wrinkles from my cloak with practiced fingers, his expression tightening. "Your letter mentioned he was welcome anytime. He took that rather literally."
A muscle twitched in his jaw. "And refusing entry to someone of his... particular talents... seemed unwise."
He meant a sorcerer.
While some fae practiced magik, few were able to call themselves warlocks or sorcerers. Even so, those high practicing magik wielders hid themselves. Now that the courts are dissolved we should show ourselves more. What was the point in hiding?
I had hid all of my magik, my parents and the courts had no idea I could wield, and it was best that I had kept it that way.
“Very well, make sure Oryx and Vesper stay out of trouble.”
I entered the library without a knock and strode in.
