Calli shoots me a concerned look as her guy makes a move and I give her a brief nod.

We’re safe here. We’ve got a houseful of bodyguards, it seems.

The only two who aren’t safe are the ones who are risking everything by touching us.

“I’ve been watching you all night,” he continues, his fingers digging into my hips a little, dragging my ass back against him.

“Is that right?”

“The way you move is intoxicating.”

Glancing back, I’m pleasantly surprised by what I find. Much like his friend, who’s whispering something in Calli’s ear, he’s cute. Really cute.

“Well then, let’s see what you’ve got.” I dip, grinding my ass against him as he watches me with hungry eyes.

Oh hell yeah. I can definitely get on board with this.

Once I’m back at full height, I turn to face him, confident that Calli is okay, and throw my arms over his shoulders.

“Have we met before?” I ask, knowing full well that we haven’t, but I need to get a feel on whether he knows who I am.

“Sadly not, babe. But I’m hoping that’s all changed now.”

His hands land on my waist, sliding down as we move together until he cups my ass, dragging my body to his.

“It sure looks that way.”

Staring up into his eyes, I wait to see if he’s got the balls to make an actual move.

If my reality is what I now suspect and he knows who I am, he wouldn’t dare do it. Would he?

The heated stare of my protectors burns holes in my back as I run my tongue along my bottom lip. I’m more than ready to lose myself in someone. And not just because I want to prove a point.

His head lowers and my heart picks up speed as I wait for our lips to collide, but right before it happens, I’m dragged backwards and into another pair of arms.

“I don’t think so,” an angry voice growls in my ear as I stare longingly at the guy I was dancing with. “Fuck off now.”

The guy holds my captor’s eyes for a beat before he decides it would be a really bad idea to make a thing out of this and melts into the crowd.

Anger surges through me, turning my blood to lava as I rip myself out of the strong arms and spin toward him.

“Was that—T-Toby?” I stutter. I knew it was one of them. But I didn’t think for a second that that cold and angry voice belonged to him.

Holy shit.

I glance at Calli, who’s still dancing with the guy’s friend.

Why haven’t they stopped her?

“Surprise,” he says, his mask dropping and his usual easy, and slightly drunk, smile appearing on his handsome face. “Dance with me?”

“Uh…” I look back to where the guy vanished and then back at Toby. “S-sure.”

Throwing my arms over his shoulders, I close my eyes and pick up where I left off, but it soon becomes obvious that my high from before has been totally obliterated when Nico comes marching over with two drinks in his hands.

His eyes are still full of contempt as they hold mine.

“Here,” he spits, thrusting one of the cups at me.
