Page 34 of Wicked Knight (Knight's Ridge Empire 1)
“Our head of security is trained in every martial art out there. Unless you want to test that, I’d suggest you get your disgusting hands off me right now.”
Sensing that I might be telling the truth, he rips his eyes from mine and looks over his shoulder just as the trunk and half the car comes into view.
With a frustrated grunt, he releases me and falls back into his seat.
Before Calvin has a chance to reverse though the gate, Seb floors the accelerator of Toby’s M3 and we fly forward, the engine purring beneath us.
If I weren’t so shaken by his words and his possessive grip, then I might even appreciate the sound.
Part of me expects him to take me somewhere other than school. He clearly has some less-than-desirable intentions when it comes to me, if what he keeps spitting at me is true. But to my surprise, he drives us straight to Knight’s Ridge.
I’m still trying to decide if he’s full of shit, or if he’s biding his time, putting me on edge and ready for the perfect time to strike. If that’s the case, then I hope he’s aware that I’m going to be waiting for him.
Unlike yesterday, he doesn’t park in either of the free spaces where I found them. Instead, he drives to the very back row, one space down from where my poor Porsche is still looking uncared for, ensuring we’re under the cover of the trees, shielded from prying eyes.
“What do you want?” I bark, fed up with his games. “We’ve got ten minutes to homeroom.”
“Homeroom?” he mocks, attempting an American accent.
“Whatever, asshole. Just let me out.”
“What’s it worth?”
“I’m sorry, what?” I spit, in complete disbelief that he’s requesting payment of some kind to allow me out of the fucking car. Although, I’m not entirely sure why I’m surprised. It’s totally douchebag jerk behavior.
“Why should I let you out? I should leave you here, let everyone think you skived.”
“Wow, if that’s your idea of ‘ruining me’ then I really don’t think I have anything to worry about. I could call for help before you get across the parking lot, asshole.”
He kills the engine, plunging us into silence so that only our increased breathing can be heard.
Everything instantly becomes more intense and my fingers curl around the seat beneath me, my nails digging into the soft leather.
He leans over, his scent stronger as he glares pure hatred into my eyes.
I swallow anxiously, waiting for what he’s going to do next.
There’s a click that startles me and makes my brows pull together as my heart thunders.
The second he moves and something cold gently presses against my thigh, I know I was right to be nervous.
Although, hell, I can’t deny that his fingers wrapped around his switchblade don’t look hot as hell.
“Seb,” I breathe. It’s meant to be a warning, but as I watch the tip of his knife trail up my thigh, scratching my skin ever so slightly and leaving light red marks, it sounds anything but.
He stops when he gets to the edge of my skirt and his eyes lift from my leg to mine.
My chest heaves as they connect. I hate that he can see exactly what the sight of his knife against my skin does to me, but I’m powerless to stop it.
“You’re fucking wet for me right now, aren’t you, Doukas?”
“Fuck you,” I seethe, although it’s pointless. We both know the truth.
“You’re a fucking liar, you know that? A liar and a whore.”
“And you’re a jumped up, conceited prick who thinks the world owes him something just because he’s pretty.”
A wicked smile pulls at his lips, and I instantly realize the mistake I made.
