CHAPTERTWELVE
Sebastian
“What the fuck happened to you?” Theo asks the second I stumble into his living room looking like a fucking hobo.
“Got caught in the storm.”
“Oh, I didn’t realise it was raining mud.” He quirks a brow.
“Don’t be a fucking smart-arse. It doesn’t suit you.”
“Don’t be a hater, bro. We both know my arse is way smarter than yours.”
I flip him off as I march with wet, muddy shoes across his precious solid wood floors to the kitchen.
“Do you fucking mind?” he barks behind me.
“Not one single fuck.”
Ripping open the top cupboard, I pull out a bottle of Jack that we keep for emergencies.
I fucking hate the stuff, but when you’ve had a night like I have it’s a necessity.
“Wow, you must have had a really good evening,” he quips as I tip the bottle to my lips and chug shot after shot. My throat burns like hell, but the second the warmth hits my belly and I get the first sign that it’s going to do its job, I keep going.
“Whoa, Seb. Coach will have your bollocks in the morning if you turn up hanging out of your arse. Your focus has been shot all week.”
“Is it any surprise?” I bark, finally pulling the bottle from my lips and wiping my mouth with the back of my hand as I fight the need to puke the lot back up.
Abandoning his laptop on the coffee table, he slides to the edge of the sofa.
“You’ve been with her, haven’t you?”
Placing the bottle on the counter, I drop my forearms to it and hang my head.
“Fucking hell, Seb. She’s gonna fuck you up.”
Lifting my head, I find his eyes.
“More than I already am?”
He shakes his head, clearly not wanting to dive into my screwed-up brain.
Walking over, he swipes the bottle from the side and takes a shot of his own. He winces after he’s swallowed and places it back down.
“You fuck her again?” he asks, his gaze dropping to my mud-covered hands.
“Nah. Didn’t give her the pleasure.”
A knowing smirk pulls at his lips.
“You’re playing with fire. I hope you know that.”
“Wouldn’t be fun otherwise.”
Jumping up on the counter, he takes another shot. “She’s not like the others.”
“You’re fucking telling me. Bitch still has my knife.”
