Page 39 of Wicked Knight (Knight's Ridge Empire 1)
Stella’s eyes flare with irritation. Ripping them from mine, she turns to the girl sitting beside her.
She’s new too, but unlike Stella, who looks like an angel—a fucking lethal one, mind you—she’s all dark and dangerous.
“Who’s that?” Theo asks, clearly taking in the same girl as me.
“No clue. Interested?” I ask, lifting a brow.
“In the bad biker bitch? I don’t fucking think so,” he scoffs. But despite his words, his eyes linger a little longer than necessary.
Sure you’re not.
“What happened here?” Teag asks when she finally realises I’ve got a cut across my throat.
“Ah, you know how it is, Teag.”
Her eyes light up with excitement at the thought of what we do. It’s the only fucking reason she’s interested. To build her social status. I’m pretty sure she wouldn’t turn any of us down for a chance at joining the Family and all the celebrity factor she thinks comes with it.
She’s clueless. Clueless and fucking delusional.
Thankfully, the bell rings and she’s forced to pull away from me.
“I’ll see you later, yeah? I’ve got a free third if you wanna meet up.” She wiggles her brows suggestively and my cock threatens to shrivel up at the thought alone.
Movement over her shoulder catches my eye, and when I look up, I find Toby and Nico in the doorway. Seconds later, Stella bounces up to them and looks up at Toby like he just hung the fucking moon.
“Sorry, I’m busy all day,” I say, my voice cold and lacking any kind of emotion.
“O-oh.” Unfortunately, she follows my line of sight and tenses when she finds Stella. “Really, Seb? She’s nothing more than American trash.”
“You’re fucking right there,” I mutter, less than gently pushing her aside and storming across the room.
I stop right beside Stella and throw my arm around her shoulder. She immediately tenses and I brace myself for impact, although to my surprise it never actually comes.
“I hope you’re not giving my boy here all our dirty secrets, Hellion.”
“Fuck off, Seb,” she spits, earning amused snorts from both Toby and Nico.
“She loves me really, don’t you, Princess?” Lowering my arm, I grab her ass and squeeze until it hurts.
“Oh yeah. I can barely contain myself around you.” She rolls her eyes dramatically and steps out of my hold. “Was there something you wanted, Sebastian?” she growls.
Holding my hand out, I say, “Yeah. I think you have something that belongs to me.”
“Uh… nope. I don’t, so see you later,” she says, her tone much softer as she addresses both Toby and Nico before disappearing out into the hallway and slipping into the mass of students making their way toward class.
“I take back what I said earlier. Eat your heart out trying with that one, Seb. She fucking hates you,” Toby says.
“Huh, you noticed that too,” I mutter. “Makes winning all that much sweeter. Game on, Tobes. Game fucking on.”
“Jesus fucking Christ,” Nico mutters, turning away from the both of us and heading toward his own class.
“Pull another stunt like that and I’ll fucking end you,” Toby warns, his brows pulled together, his usual bright blue eyes dark with evil intent. It’s a look I’m fairly familiar with… but it’s never been directed at me.
“All’s fair in love and war, Toby. Didn’t you learn that already?” I disappear out of the room, leaving him standing on the spot and probably planning a million ways to kill me.
Get in line, motherfucker. Something tells me that Stella is right at the very front.
