“I’m so glad there are spare toothbrushes and mouthwash in here,” Lucien said from behind me. “I’m not surprised though; Carmen seems to think of everything.” He unwrapped a toothbrush, squirted toothpaste on it, and began vigorously brushing his teeth.

“Maybe tomorrow she’ll tell us how she knew where we were.”

Lucien pulled the toothbrush from his mouth and spat. “She had people tailing us once we left Sal’s.”

“What? You didn’t tell me?”

Lucien opened the mouthwash, tipped the bottle to pour the liquid into his mouth, and swished it around. When he bent over to spit the mouthwash in the sink, I saw the stunned expression on my face in the mirror. “I didn’t want to upset you,” Lucien said. “Carmen’s people are good, but I spotted a few of them. I could tell they were non-hostiles and figured they belonged to her. I just didn’t know what her game was.”

“When?” I asked, turning to look at him. Then wished I hadn’t, because Lucien had already unbuttoned his shirt. I was immediately distracted by his hot body and sexy ink.

“I suspected Desiree and Dennis at first, but figured I was paranoid.”Desiree and Dennis?“I picked up a tail in the park when we were hanging out with José and Roberto, another one outside the clothing store, and I was pretty sure someone followed our Lyft driver when we went to Fuego.”

“I never noticed and didn’t realize you had.”

“Years of training.” Lucien got quiet. “Which is why I don’t understand how I missed Banks’s goons trailing me.”

“Maybe Percy was right, and most of the photos came from hacking the camera in your laptop or cell phone? He could’ve also rigged the peephole in your hotel room door with a camera. It happened to a sports reporter. A sicko was able to predict which events she would cover, stalked her, and rigged the peephole in her door to spy on her.”

“I think I remember reading about that,” Lucien said, sounding like he was a million miles away. I took over undressing him the rest of the way so we could get in the shower. “The setup man working for Banks probably planted all types of devices in my room for each of my jobs.” Lucien gasped when I dropped to my knees to unlace his oxfords before pulling them off.

“How would he know which room the hotel assigned you?” I asked, rising to my feet and reaching for the top button on my shirt. “You check in with the desk, right?” Lucien knocked my hands away and took over the task.

“Yeah. Even if we were stupid enough to check in using an app, we’d still have to stop by the front desk to pick up our key. Never once have I been told someone already picked it up.” Lucien kissed along my collarbone as he slid the open shirt down my arms then reached for my pants next. Lucien knelt to remove my shoes as I’d done for him, then he tugged my underwear down so I was as naked as he was.

“Which means Banks’s goons stick around long enough to see which room you’re in, then they plant the cameras and leave.”

Lucien leaned forward, pressed his nose to the trimmed curls at the base of my cock, and inhaled deeply. “Mmmmmm.”

I fought the urge to grip his hair and hold him against me. Instead, I whispered, “Lucky.”

Lucien rose to his feet, smiling wickedly. “The setup crew had to stick around on occasion though. How else would they catch me lounging by a pool?”

“Hack the exterior hotel security cameras?” I asked.

“It’s a real possibility, and as creepy as it sounds, I prefer it over not realizing someone was tailing my every move.” Lucien’s expression said the option couldn’t possibly apply to all the images Carmen described. “I need to know how I ever wound up on his radar in the first place.”

“You’ll get your chance to ask him,” I pointed out, shivering hard with the realization.

“Hey,” Lucien said softly. “I’m going to be okay, love.”

We stepped beneath the cascade of water, and the tension faded from my body when Lucien pulled me into his arms. My brain and body were exhausted from the tsunami of information we’d received. I needed time to process and come up with the remaining answers, but it didn’t have to be right then. My dick hardened and lengthened against Lucien’s, proving at least part of me wasn’t exhausted. Remembering my vow to choose intimacy over sex, I ignored its demand.

“Are we just going to act like we don’t have hard-ons?” Lucien asked, cupping my face.

“I thought sex might not be appropriate in light of everything we learned tonight,” I said. “There are many ways we can be intimate without having sex.” I traced the spine of Dudley. “Draco would’ve been a great name for your dragon.”

“Let me be clear here,” Lucien said, sliding his hands down and firmly gripping my ass cheeks. “The only name you will call out during any sexual act involving our hands, mouths, and cocks will be mine. No Dudley, and definitely no Draco.”

“Got it,” I said, sliding my hands up into his wet hair. “Lucky.”

“As for your other thought, can you tell me a better way to live in the moment than mutually gratifying orgasms?”

“No,” I whispered, tilting my head back and baring my neck for his kisses.

“Can you think of a different way you want to celebrate the fact we’re still alive and together?” Lucien murmured against my wet skin.

“Lucky,” I pleaded. Lucien answered by sliding a wicked finger in the crease of my ass.
