“We know that. Before you panic, all of us came up with the date. Then some of us dropped a lot of money to make it happen.”
“What are we doing so I won’t be thrown for a loop?” I want to throttle him and hug him at the same time.
“Come eat and we will tell you.” Memphis opens the door.
Most of the gang is hanging out in the dining room.
Ever is practically beaming with joy, like she can’t wait to tell me what I’m doing.
Ivy hands me a plate of eggs and bacon as I take a seat, and McKenna hands me a mug of coffee.
“Go ahead, Ever.” I look at her, knowing she’s going to tell me anyway.
“You’re taking her to the aquarium.” She bounces up and down in excitement, and I can’t help but laugh at that. It’s infectious.
“There is a big tunnel, like those ones at Sea World, and you’re going to have a picnic there. She loves sushi, so we’re having it delivered.”
“Sushi in an aquarium?” I snort.
“I know, ironic. But she will love it.”
“How are we going to have a picnic without people interrupting?”
“Remember when I said some of us dropped money?” Memphis addresses me, and I nod.
“We rented it for the whole day. You’ll walk through the aquarium and have your picnic. We’ll meet you guys afterward,” Memphis says.
“I don’t know what to say.” I look all of them in the eye.
“You can thank us later at the bar with drinks.” London slaps me on the shoulder.
“It’s the perfect date for her,” Ariel says, and everyone agrees.
“She doesn’t know who she is going on the date with. We need to go.” Memphis ushers me out of the house and into his car, everyone piling into his and other vehicles.
“What are we doing?”
“Getting ready. We’re stopping for an expensive bouquet of flowers, and iced coffees for both of you,” Ever says from the back seat.
We stop at a florist and the girls all go in to pick out the flowers. Ever can hardly carry the bouquet. It’s full of red and white roses along with a couple flowers I don’t know.
“Tiger lilies and orchids. They’re her favorite,” she explains when I’m staring at it. We stop for the drinks, and they help me carry them inside. Then we wait. They are out of shot and out of sight. As soon as we start the tour, they will leave.
“Dayton?” Timber looks pretty in a white maxi dress, her hair in curls.
“Hi,” I say awkwardly and hand her the flowers.
“These are beautiful. How did you know?”
“I guessed. You like them?”
She sniffs the flowers and then I set them aside.
“What are we doing here?”
“This is our date.” I hand her the iced coffee.
“Date?”
