I glance at my wrists, where the flames had licked me. No one would know since my arms are inked. My thighs are burned up, but shorts cover them. But the scars are there to remind me.

“Dayton, I held a lot of anger for so long. I know I waited too long . . .”

“No, I think I need my older brother.” I do. He can help me.

“I am way too old for that little girl,” he says with a wink.

“Fuck off.” I flip him off.

“But please tell me this is the last fight.”

“It is. I already promised dad number two over there,” I snap, and he laughs.

“It’s good that all this time you’ve had people who care about you.”

“I know.” I’m glad my brother showed up.

“I’ll never leave again. Just me and you.”

“Yep.”

“Brice.” London sits down next to me.

“London.” He pushes him in a friendly way.

“When’s your next fight?” London asks.

“When you decide to join me in the cage,” He laughs.

“You wish,” London snickers.

“Glad to see you two working it out,” London says softly.

“It was time.”

“But to come on a show?” I ask, shaking my head.

“Go big or go home. I even told Timber to send me packing at the elimination ceremony.”

“You did?”

“Yes, I told her who I was,” Brice replies.

“Fuck, did you tell her—”

“No, that’s your story to tell. I will support you when you do.”

Will I tell Timber what happened to me? I don’t know.

“Cabin six,” Sal calls out.

“Duty calls,” I say and head out to get the next suitor, feeling like some weight has been lifted.

I watch Brice head off to the porch with London. He’s a good guy, and I know everyone will love him.
