Page 47 of Timber's Line
“I’m not.” I don’t think.
I step up to the end of the line and everyone, including me, is surprised.
“Timber, this is Dayton,” Carlton says, trying not to laugh.
I take her hand and kiss it, not wanting to let go.
“Nice to meet you,” she says sweetly.
“Cut!” Sal calls in between fits of laughter.
That asshole.
CHAPTERTWENTY-ONE
TIMBER
I finish dressing and head outside for the introductions. I smile at London and Dayton, trying to feel like my old self or at least act like it.
I wish Dayton was one of my suitors. He would win, but then what would happen?
“Timber, these are your next nine suitors.” Carlton gestures to the guys. I wave and smile.
“This is Ethan,” Carlton introduces us. He’s cute in a boyish way.
“Nice to meet you,” I tell him.
“Likewise.” He leans over and practically kisses my neck, and I want to run away.
“I know who you are,” he whispers in my ear. “My dick was in your mouth after a frat party.”
Well, fuck my life. Another one of the many guys I thought loved me. I’m trying to rack my brain, trying to remember him. I can’t. I do remember the one and only time I went to a frat party—I woke up on a couch in a house I didn’t remember going to and ran home.
He steps to the side, and I can see concerned looks on all the guys’ faces, even the other suitors. The look on Dayton is one of rage.
“Timber, this is Hunter.” He’s Hunter Gains. I’ve met him a couple of times. He hugs me and steps to the side. He’s fought Memphis before and lost. The one thing about him is he is very sweet. He takes his mom on dates and loves his family.
“Timber, Harrison. Harrison, this is Timber.”
“Pleasure is all mine.” Harrison smiles at me. I can’t help but smile back. He’s an old friend of Brick’s from the short time they went to college together. He comes from money and only fights when he wants to. He’s not as serious about it as the other guys.
“Next up is Luis.” I don’t know him and have never seen him anywhere before.
He leans in for a hug, and I have a terrible feeling.
“I can’t wait to feel those pretty lips around my cock again.” I tense. Before I can say anything, he moves to the side. Where did Sal find these guys? What is going on?
“Oscar, Timber. Timber, Oscar.” I know him, and not in a gentle or nice way.
“So glad to see you again.” He leans over and licks my ear. I shiver. Gross.
He moves to the side with the others. I want to scream. Why is this happening to me? Why is Sal doing this to me?
“Next up is Nash.” Carlton squeezes my shoulder, comforting me.
Nash Collins. He’s a bigger playboy than Easton.
“Please don’t let my reputation ruin this for me,” he says as he kisses my knuckles. I sneak a glance where Dayton is sitting, and he’s red with anger.
