I’m on the verge of lifting her onto my lap when there’s a loud knocking at the trunk before the car starts rocking.

“When the car’s a rockin’…” someone calls, forcing us both into action.

“Oh my God,” Macie gasps, frantically pushing her hair out of her face and wiping at her mouth. As if there’s a chance of her still having spunk there after that kiss.

“It’s okay. The guys have seen much worse.”

“I don’t care. The only one I want watching me giving you head is you.”

“I’m sure they didn’t see anything.”

“You’d better be right,” she mutters, gathering up her bags.

“Come on. I can think straight now you’ve taken the edge off.”

“Oh great, I’m glad you’re feeling better,” she deadpans.

“Come on, I’ll think of a way to make it up to you.”

Taking her bags, I throw them over my shoulder before wrapping my arm around her waist and pulling her into my side.

“Just so you know,” I whisper, dropping my lips to her ear. “That was the best head of my life.”

“Lee,” she moans, embarrassment coming off her in waves.

Pushing through the front door, we’re greeted by silence. Perfect.

Steering her into the kitchen to grab drinks, I’m not expecting to find two smiling faces looking back at us.

“Oh… hey,” I say to Luca and Peyton.

“Good night?” Luc asks, a wide smirk on his face as Peyton smacks him upside the head.

Macie groans, planting her face in my chest.

“He’s just jealous, baby,” I whisper.

“That doesn’t make it any better,” she mumbles back.

“Whoa, look at that,” Luca says, climbing off his stool and stepping toward me.

“What?” I ask reluctantly.

“You’re smiling.”

“Fuck off. I smile. Often.”

“Yeah. Fake ones. That one right there.” He nods toward my face. “Is fucking real.”

“Right, well… How's Mom?” I ask swiftly, turning the conversation away from me.

“She’s good. Relieved.”

“I know the fucking feeling.”

“Same. Still surprised he was shooting that shit into his veins.”

“Nothing surprises me when it comes to our sperm donor,” I mutter, pulling the refrigerator door open and grabbing a couple of sodas.
