Page 50 of The One You Want
She sighed with contentment. “And that says it all. You and me, Gray. We are something neither of us expected but we can’t deny. This thing between us doesn’t feel new, it feels—”
“Perfect. Inevitable. So damn right.”
“Yes.” She thought about her secret. “Gray—”
“I love the way you say my name.”
She smiled, filled to overflowing with joy and need for this man. “There’s something I need to tell you.”
“If it’s not that you’re on your way to me right now, it can wait. Marc is heading my way and I don’t want him to ruin our moment.”
What she had to tell him could wait.
“Maggie is opening my gift.”
“What’d you get her?”
“A black lace camisole and panty set to go with a blackberry-flavored lube.”
“That makes me think all kinds of wicked thoughts.”
His deep voice made her think of a few herself. Her vagina clenched and her panties felt damp with the heat and desire in his words.
“I want... Fuck, I have to go. Whatever you want to talk to me about, we can do that tomorrow. After I kiss you.”
“Tomorrow then.”
“Miss you, sweetheart.”
“Get off the phone, Rose, and try this,” Maggie called, holding up the blackberry lube. “It’s fantastic.”
Rose laughed.
“Go. Be with your friends. I’m going to see if I can get Marc and the guys out of here before we’re all broke and too drunk to walk.”
“Gray.”
“Yeah?” His deep voice sounded wistful and wanting.
“I miss you, too.”
“You’re amazing.”
She laughed under her breath. “Thanks. I think you’re incredible, too.”
“I don’t want to say good-bye.”
Her heart melted. “Then say you’ll see me soon.”
“Not soon enough,” he grumbled, and hung up.
She joined the ladies at the table.
Maggie shot a deep purple thong at her and laughed when it bounced off Rose’s chest and landed in her lap. “Was that Gray? Are they behaving?”
“Probably not,” she teased. “But Gray was worried I was upset by the pictures Marc sent you.”
“I hope Gray has some of Marc that I can use against him when he irritates me.”
