Page 122 of The One You Want
Gray handed her the bouquet of pink roses she’d set on the end table. “Ready to surprise our guests?”
They had no idea they’d come for a wedding, but it would be no surprise to anyone that she and Gray were getting married.
She placed her hand on his chest next to the pink rose boutonniere he wore. “Ready to spend my life with you? Yes. Absolutely.”
Gray kissed her, then held his arm out to her. She slipped her arm through his, and they walked out to a surprised gasp by their guests as the photographer they hired turned on the music they’d selected.
Poppy stood and took her place to officiate the wedding, wearing a gorgeous pink dress and sparkly shoes that matched Rose’s. They’d had a grand time planning the wedding together with Gray.
Rose’s mom’s eyes immediately filled with tears. Gray’s parents shared a smile between them before they beamed at her and Gray.
Maggie and her mom had tears in their eyes, but their smiles were bright and filled with joy.
When Rose and Gray turned to each other to begin the ceremony, they smiled at each other and both of them said at the same time, “I love you.”
It wasn’t the first time they’d said it. It wouldn’t be the last. It was all that mattered. Because when you’re with the one you want, the one you love above all else, you want them to know it and feel it.
They gave each other that every day.
And now, they’d have the rest of their lives together.
The nightmare of her past was such a distant memory she hardly ever thought about it anymore because Gray made everything in her life something to hold on to and cherish.
Most of all, she liked holding on to him.
