Page 115 of The One You Want
Chapter Twenty-Six
The car and elevator ride up to Gray’s hotel room were quiet, but Gray kept Rose’s hand in his nearly the whole time. He held the door open for her. She walked in ahead of him and then stood between the bed and the sitting area, completely at a loss about what came next and what she should do.
Gray went to the desk where his laptop, briefcase, and stacks of files sat, and grabbed the restaurant menu. He handed it to her. “What do you want to eat, sweetheart?”
She stared at it, unable to decide if she was hungry or tired or what.
Gray cupped her face and brushed his thumbs over her cheeks. “You need to eat. You’ll feel better.”
“Will I?”
Gray studied her for a moment, looking deeper, reading her discontent and the wild emotions swirling inside her. “What’s really bothering you?”
She leaned into his touch. “I thought I lost you and I couldn’t bear it.”
Gray touched his forehead to hers. “God, Rose, I felt thesame. It crushed me to think, even for a second, that what we had wasn’t real. The loss of it felt like it tore me in two. I don’t ever want to feel that way again. I don’t ever want to lose you.”
She put her hand at the back of his neck and looked deep into his eyes as he held her face. “I never thought something like this was possible or even real. I thought people made it up or exaggerated. But when I’m with you, I believe in fate and destiny.”
“I believe you were meant for me.”
The kiss they shared was slow and sensual and an extension of the connection they shared. She lost herself in the feel of him holding her close. Safe. Protected. Cherished.
But all too soon he pulled back. “Sweetheart, I need to get you some food, put you in a hot shower, and maybe we can find a movie and you can relax after all you’ve been through.”
“I’m okay.”
“Please. Let me take care of you,” he implored.
“All I need right now is you.” She kissed him softly and rubbed her belly against his thick, hard cock. “I think you need me, too.”
“It’s been a crap day. If you need time to—”
She stopped his words with another kiss. “I have no doubt you will make everything better.” She kissed him again. “Remember the beach, your hands on me.” She took his hand and put it over her breast and achingly tight nipple. “Let’s turn this bad day into a really good night.”
His thumb brushed over her nipple, but he didn’t dive in for more.
“Remember how you wanted to see me lying naked on the sheets,” she reminded him.
“I think about it all the time.”
“Then make it a reality.”
He pressed his forehead to hers. “How did I get so lucky?”
She looked him in the eye. “I’m lucky to have you.”
The words seemed to unleash him. He dove in for a searing kiss, his fingers tightening on her breast and squeezing her nipple. His other hand dipped over the swell of her bottom, and he pulled her hips snug against his.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and found herself swept away by the passion building between them.
Gray broke the kiss. “Did I tell you how beautiful you look in this dress?”
“No. You were too busy trying to figure out if I had anything on under it.”
He slipped his hands down her sides and curled his fingers in the material and pulled it up into his hands. “I know you didn’t wear anything else besides this sexy dress to tempt me.” He stepped back just enough to pull the dress up and over her head. He sent it flying onto the back of the sofa and stared down at her, his heated gaze traveling down her chest, over her heavy breasts, her belly, and down her legs, then back up to her face. “God, you’re beautiful.”
She blushed and rubbed her fingers in the back of his hair. “You make me feel that way.” She slid her hand down his wide chest, then back up to his shoulders. “You’re overdressed.”
