Chapter Fifteen

Saying goodbye to Vivienne, Alex, and Gabriella was hard. We knew we’d be back soon, but the cause of our visit had been a highly emotion one. Alex drove us to the airport, leaving Gabriella in tears with Dominic.

We said our goodbyes and boarded a flight. Although it had been an exceptional reason for the private flight, it was a luxury we’d decided on for the return journey as well.

“Want to join the Mile High Club?” I whispered as we buckled into our seats. “There’s a bedroom back there.”

“Oh, yes, do we get a certificate?” Lauren replied, chuckling.

We were welcomed by the pilot and a stewardess, offered drinks and given the flight plan. It was an overnight flight so we welcomed the additional bedroom. It would, hopefully, not just give us the required entry to the Mile High Club but a couple of hours of catching up with sleep.

Once we’d leveled off and the seat belt signs had been switched off, we were offered a meal, which we accepted. A bottle of wine was uncorked and we toasted each other.

“I could get used to this,” I said, relaxing back into the plush leather seat.

Lauren made a theatrical yawn, the kind where she stretched her arms and her mouth gaped. “I think we should have a nap,” she said, a little too loudly.

I chuckled, as did the stewardess. I rose from my seat and took her hand. “Yeah, we need a nap,” I said and gave her a wink.

She giggled as we headed to the small bedroom.

Lauren fussed over the company’s logo on all the linens and the small double bed that was just perfect for us.

However, it didn’t leave a lot of room on either side.

Lauren kicked off her Converse and then pulled her T-shirt over her head and slid her jeans down.

I pulled her to me, desperate for her kiss.

She wrapped her arms around my shoulders, gripping the hair at the nape of my neck.

I reached around her and unclipped her bra.

I wanted to feel her against my chest. I pulled back and slid my T-shirt over my head, and she fumbled with my jeans, undoing them as I pulled my feet from my loafers.

We bumped from the edge of the bed to the wall.

When we were finally naked, we collapsed onto the bed, laughing.

I rolled her to lie on top of me and for a moment she held herself on her elbows. “I love you,” I said, gently kissing her.

“Can we go back a half year?” she whispered, and I knew what she meant. I nodded my head.

She wanted to erase the past, if even for an hour. “When we get home, I’m taking you to the club,” I said. “I have an urge to spank that ass of yours so much.”

“I have an urge for you to spank me, and tie me up, and all those things we did with Veronica,” she whispered.

I grabbed her face and kissed her hard.

Lauren broke the kiss and slid down my body. She kissed my chest and my stomach, circled my navel, and then took my cock in her mouth. She licked, sucked, and nipped. Just as she sucked hard we hit an air pocket.

“Oh my God,” she said, nearly choking and laughing at the same time. She crawled up my body and lowered onto my cock.

It became a bumpy ride and the seat belt sign came on. “What do we do?” she said, riding me.

I held her hips and chuckled. “Don’t fall off,” I said .

We completed our inauguration in record time, partly laughing and partly moaning with pleasure.

“Well, that was an experience,” I said, as Lauren lay beside me. She held on to the bed as we hit yet another air pocket.

Outside an amazing storm was raging. We were able to lie on the bed and see through the windows. Lightning blazed below us and it made for a magnificent show. The clouds turned blue as the static cut through it. Above us was nothing but black littered with stars.

“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” she whispered and I nodded.

We flew through the storm and the aircraft settled.

Lauren closed her eyes and slept. I couldn’t, and I wouldn’t until I got home anyway.

I didn’t have an issue with jet lag, for Lauren it would take her a couple of days.

I crept from the bed and squeezed into the small shower cubical.

Once I was dressed, I headed back to the main cabin and ordered coffee.

I connected my phone to the onboard Wi-Fi and checked on some messages and emails.

Alex had left me a message that, as suspected, Addison had talked her way out of any charges.

Annoyingly, I was sure she had a relative in the police force.

She had said that she was off to deliver the ransom as instructed by Alex and me.

I wasn’t sure she believed the death by suicide , not that she could prove anything.

However, I felt she’d had enough of a fright to stay the fuck away.

She was broke, although she did have the family house to sell, so that meant she wouldn’t be traveling to the UK anytime soon, as she constantly threatened.

Lauren slept for a good few hours and I was pleased. Her body had gone through enough the past few months and I was sure she needed some healing time. I could function on little sleep, she couldn’t.

We arrived back into Kent, and then a car took us home.

She woke just before we started our descent, dozed in the car, and then headed back to bed when we arrived, despite it being midday.

Keeping her awake would be like wrestling a bear cub from its mother.

I shuddered at the thought, and then chuckled.

While she slept I sent Sam an email to let him know the outcome of the last eggs.

Lauren slept right through dinner, even though I did attempt to wake her and woke ravenous the following morning. She stretched and complained about aching muscles from sleeping so long. I had been up an hour and had taken her a cup of tea. I sat on the edge of the bed.

“I’m heading into work this morning,” I said. “I think Mary has it in for me for some reason. She sent me a text message asking if I was actually returning to the office at some point.” I laughed. We hadn’t told her of the reason for our impromptu trip to the States .

“What did you say?” Lauren asked, sipping on her tea and wincing.

“That I would be with her lovely cheerful self within the hour.”

Lauren laughed. “I’ll come with you,” she said, placing the cup on the side.

“You don’t have to.”

“I do. I’ve had enough time off work lately,” she called over her shoulder as she headed to the bathroom.

I left her to get ready and waited downstairs. Half an hour later, she was ready and we headed to the waiting car.

“I’ll call the clinic later,” she said, as we crawled along in the London traffic.

I nodded and then told her that I’d also emailed Sam. We fell silent for a little while after that.

“Right, no more moping. We have companies to run and things to do,” she said, smiling at me as we pulled up outside the office.

“Things to do, huh?”

We left the car and before we entered the building, she rose on her tiptoes. “Yes, things to do,” she said, kissing me.

“Can I know what those things are?”

“I’ll let you know by text message,” she said, chuckling, and then greeted security and reception as we walked in .

“Mmm, I look forward to that.”

It was Lauren trying to get back to normal and I was happy to be doing that as well. I didn’t need to think about operations and procedures and disappointment until we had to. Just a few days’ break would do us some good.

“Mary, my love. Something bad happened and we had to fly to the States,” I said, walking across my floor. She was standing with her hands on her hips. “Seriously. Daniel kidnapped Dominic.”

“You’re kidding me?” she said.

I shook my head. “Nope. Anyway, Alex and I managed to get him back.”

“Oh, Mackenzie, I’m sorry for being so flippant,” she said, and she caught me by surprise. She seemed genuinely upset. She held her hands over her mouth and tears filled her eyes.

“Come here,” I said, walking toward her. She allowed me to place my arm around her shoulder.

“How are they both?” she asked.

“Fine now he’s home. Alex and I were like regular little superheroes. We barged in there, Mary, you should have seen us. All ninja like, we were.”

“Oh, get away with you, you ejit,” she said, slapping my chest and moving out of my embrace. “Now, get your arse in your chair as there’s a shitload of crap on your desk. ”

I laughed, Mary, as I knew her, was back. “Right, I’m off to do crap,” I said.

I went through my messages and replied or drafted a reply to what I could.

I scanned through accounts for companies that I was a little concerned about, and then I spoke with my personal accountants.

I turned down three charity dinner invitations, for various reasons, and accepted one.

Three hours had passed and I was caught up.

In one way that disappointed me, in another I was pleased.

It meant my team was efficiently dealing with everything.

I got a weekly overview, of course, but I rarely had to intervene.

Later that afternoon, I received the promised text message.

My List, number 3 – A couple’s massage. I want to feel and see someone’s hands all over you and me.

“Okay,” I said, chuckling. There was one thing I’d never allow, and that was for another man to touch Lauren, but, as she’d experienced before, I didn’t mind a woman. That turned me on.

I didn’t reply, obviously. What I wanted was for Lauren to not know what or when and have the anticipation build. So, she wanted to see me massaged as well as her? That was doable. I made a phone call.

“Hey, are you ready for home?” I asked. Lauren was sitting behind her desk and her forehead was furrowed. She was pinching the bridge of her nose.

“Yeah. I’ve have a terrible headache this afternoon,” she said.

She closed the folder she was reading and tidied her desk. Lauren’s desk was empty at the end of every day, mine looked like a paper mill had exploded on it.
