The light morphed into stars, and I balled my hands into fists as his magic prolonged my bliss until my male reached his own finale. With a feral roar, he thrust one last time deep inside me and coated my insides with his release.

Together, we rode out the heights of our pleasure, united in body, but also in mind and soul. I’d never felt so close to divinity.

My restraints vanished and also the teasing touch on my clit as Dion tugged me tightly into his embrace, remaining still deep inside of me. Trying to catch my breath, my heart ran in overdrive.

The more I relaxed, the heavier the exhaustion returned and weighed me down.

My neck and shoulders burned from his bites, and taking his proud gaze into consideration, he’d painted my skin in a multitude of different shades. “What is it with you and your fascination with marking my skin?”

As he pulled out of me, leaving an emptiness behind, I mourned his absence. “Easy. I loathe when other males look at you, but if they have to—and you cling to the insanity that I’m not supposed to kill everyone who does—they’ll notice my claim and be alerted that you’re a taken female; that you’re mine.”

“I haven’t agreed to accept your courtship yet.”

Canting his head, he presented me with the expression he had reserved for me whenever I was stupid in his opinion. “Your mind might not have yet, but your body and soul already do.”

“Always so certain that your world is exactly as you want it to be.”

Somehow, the tender smile appearing on his face held an edge, rousing my suspicions, but I wasn’t in the mood for a discussion.

“Nayana, I have an important request.”

Ah. The princeling had an idea he loved and considered the best one he’d ever had—from his feral fae perspective. I was almost certain my human view would find his suggestion questionable at best, but more likely abhorrent. “What?”

“You get lost so easily. And you’re so tiny and breakable.”

“You promised me not to lock me away.”

“No, no, hear me out. For quite a while, I’ve been obsessed with the notion of gifting you a drop of my magic. Somewhere under your skin would be a perfect place for such an offering, don’t you agree?”

No, he didn’t—

He was joking, right?

Ugh, of course he wasn’t.

Raising my eyebrow, I racked my brain to come up with an answer that would do his insane proposition justice. “You’re not inserting power into me to make me traceable. Have you finally gone completely mad?”

“I could have been at your side much faster.”

“No, Dion.”

Now, his upper lip twitched in an effort not to bare his teeth at me, and the gears in his head spun. “A piece of my magic was supposed to be your next courtship present.”

“No. Think of something else. You won’t tracker-mark me.”

“We’ll see about that. Go to sleep. You’re tired.”

“Yes. But no permanent marking, not even in my sleep, or I’ll kick you through the wound in reality faster than you can blink.”

The bastard just chuckled as if I were the most amusing thing he’d ever regarded.

Glaring at him with the promise of a thousand painful deaths, I pouted before relaxing again. He wouldn’t dare go against my will. At least, that’s how I assured myself.

Also, I was pleasantly satisfied, enveloped in my deliciously smelling fae whose skin was soft as silk, even though the muscles underneath were made of steel. No matter how shrewd his ideas sometimes were, he was my safe place, and all the remaining tension left my resting form.

Just as I was dozing off, I was tossed out of my reverie again. “The others. Dion, they’ve been here—”

All my blood crawled into my cheeks.
