Page 2 of The Boy I Loved (Eternal Hell #1)

I’d never thought about sex much. There had never been anyone who captured my interest enough to bring forth thoughts of that nature.

Of course, I was curious. What teenager wasn’t?

With Dominic, however, I wouldn’t mind giving him everything.

He could have all my firsts, my highs, my lows, anything at all.

Dominic deepened the kiss, his grip becoming firmer around the side of my face as he grew more confident with his actions.

I followed his lead, not really sure what the hell I was doing, but so far, I hadn’t made a fool of myself, so that had to count for something.

His strong scent invaded my nostrils, wrapping around me like an electric vise.

My body vibrated with desire, and I slowly started to gravitate toward him, melting into his embrace.

A low groan rumbled from his throat, the sound sending a shock directly through me.

Our parents used to make jokes, teasing us, saying that we’d one day be married.

We always laughed it off, mostly because they were embarrassing the hell out of us.

Sitting here with him now, feeling the heat from his body surrounding me, and inhaling that addictive scent of his, I wasn’t too opposed to the idea.

If we ever did get married, I’d make sure we always kept this treehouse.

Just so that we could come here and reminisce about all the fun times we had and so we’d never forget our first kiss. Not that I’d ever forget anyways.

My hands rested along the planes of his hardened chest, my fingers curling as they balled up his plain black T-shirt.

His tongue slipped inside my mouth, intertwining with mine.

The feeling was foreign, unexpected, yet addictive all at the same time.

My lips were swollen, and my oxygen was waning due to how long this little make out session was going on for—not that I was complaining.

He dropped his hand, moving it to my waist where my shirt had ridden up.

The feel of his fingers along my exposed flesh there had my heart rate skyrocketing even more.

Just as his hands started taking a detour, moving upwards toward my chest, my phone started to ring.

The sound was like a shotgun in this quiet little makeshift house.

He kissed me one last time before pulling away, our breaths mingling together as we worked to compose ourselves. That was everything I could have dreamed of and more.

My best friend was my first kiss. And it was perfect .

With trembling hands, and a shit ton of regret, I broke the spell, straightening my spine so that his hands had no choice but to withdraw from around my waist. I slipped my hand into the pocket of my jeans and retrieved my phone, clicking on the green button.

“Hello?” I asked, a slight tremble to my voice.

“When are you coming home?” Mom asked, the sound of clattering echoing through the receiver.

My parents were used to us staying out late, and they were perfectly fine with it as long as it wasn’t on a school night. Sometimes, they even let us sleep in the treehouse together. We’d been inseparable since we were little kids.

“When do you want me to?” I felt lightheaded, like a high had taken over and blurred all my senses.

I chanced another look in Dom’s direction, his gaze focused on me. The heat that had been in his eyes before was dormant, making my skin grow even colder. Did he already regret it? Was I a bad kisser?

“Now. Dinner is ready. Will Dominic be walking you home?”

My mom hated it when I walked alone at night, even if my house was only on the other side of the woods .

Heat rose to my cheeks. I didn’t want to ask him to walk me home right after what we just did. What if it was awkward?

Dominic leaned forward, his leg brushing against mine. The simple touch was enough to make my heart leap back into my throat. “Yes,” he answered into the receiver.

“Okay,” Mom replied. “Try to hurry home before your food gets cold.”

“I will. See you soon.” Ending the call, I glanced back over at Dominic who was still staring at me intently.

"Ready?" he asked.

No.

I wanted to stay here forever and feel his lips on mine over and over again.

Instead of saying that, though, I nodded.

I clutched my phone tightly in my hand before following behind him as he led the way. Once we were outside, darkness encased us, making goosebumps pepper across my exposed arms. Maybe it was a good thing Mom wouldn’t let me walk home alone. I probably would have peed myself had I attempted it.

“What are your plans for tomorrow?” I questioned, nervously fidgeting with the hem of my shirt as we walked through the assortment of trees.

“My uncle wants my help at the mechanic shop tomorrow.” His gaze slid to mine. “But maybe we could hangout afterwards. Alice wants to see this stupid chick flick in theaters. Figured you could come.”

A small smile played around the corners of my mouth, and I thanked God that it was dark outside so he couldn’t see it. “Sure,” I agreed. “I’ll have to ask my parents, but they probably won’t care.”

The rest of the walk was silent, our footfalls being the only sound permeating the area surrounding us. When we got to my house, he waved me goodbye like he always did and started his venture back through the woods toward his destination .

I watched him leave, unable to take my eyes off him. I didn’t know if that kiss affected our friendship, or if we’d somehow become more than friends even. But not having him around wasn’t an option, so whatever the case, I’d do whatever I had to in order to ensure that we remained close.

He was everything to me.
