Everything I found said they didn’t know each other.

I knew she’d clearly done something to Ziggy, but I couldn’t dedicate time to figuring it out.

I couldn’t even find the girls name. Ok…

I could’ve searched social sites…but I was kind of busy.

I still protected Ziggy deleting the footage and I kept an ear out for any police reports being filed, but there never was one .

I replied, “Ok...cool. What was a job? I literally have no idea who you are.” I wanted to know too.

She cringed, “I was pretending to be you.” I snorted, “Yeah… I have nothing to do with you. That’s my mate and family's territory.” If they decided not to kill her…

then I would do that… but the odds were someone would kill her.

That didn’t answer why she upset Ziggy though. I was going to have to find out.

Freya asked, “Who do you think it will be?” I tapped my watch and dropped the privacy screen I had in it that I’d invented. It reflected what I had just been doing to the people that could see me instead of knowing what I was actually doing.

I pulled up my tables on my watch and admitted, “A Kyle, since a Beta blood would be able to dial back their anger. My mom’s up there though.

She’ll likely focus on Stephanie… my not aunt.

So, while it’s not her last name anymore I’d lay odds on Elise killing her since she lives her and could access the fake me the easiest.” Freya laughed in my head.

I tapped the buttons so the table disappeared.

I looked at the next cell then turned away. Stephanie snorted, “You aren’t going to say anything? That’s new.” I turned stating, “I hope they torture you for decades, you bitter old lying hag.” I walked away and found Edward and Jean. Both evaluated me.

Edward was missing an arm. Freya purred, “Mate did that.” Probably. Since I wanted confirmation I asked, “What happened to your arm?” Edward retorted, “Your mate.” I was right…and so was Freya. I did like being right. Freya snickered.

I laughed, “I would advise you to not upset him. I thought you were smart enough to know that.” Edward snarled, “How am I supposed to help what he sees when he pushes at me?” I told him, “By having mental defenses of some kind. He could still hear, but he might not have seen anything.”

I waved dismissively saying, “I wouldn’t expect you to know that, because you don’t bother to take your head out of your ass and learn about other Supernatural’s, like Fairies. Anyway, I didn’t come here to talk about that.”

Freya’s growl slipped out, “I came here to ask you where Booker and Trevor would go hide. I’m GOING to find them, but I’d rather do it sooner as opposed to later. I know despite the fact that he’s a sniveling, backstabbing weasel that you two look up to him.”

“Which is a special type of insanity….but I think we all know it’s better if I find him before anyone here does. You KNOW that’s true. I may be deadly, but these people… they have skills I couldn’t dream of having.”

Edward snorted, “Since I’m missing an arm that was cauterized by a fire hands Fairy I’ll agree. They know how to do things you don’t.” I warned dryly, “I’d address the King of the Fairies with more respect if I was you. From what I know King Aiden is well liked around here.”

Jean paled asking, “That was King Aiden?” I groaned, “Seriously? Learn about other Supernatural's while you are here, since you have NOTHING but time until you die… Wow…umm you look bad too. What happened to you, Jean?” Jean snorted, “Ask your dad.” My dad did that to him? For me?

My anger fired on all cylinders how he casually said my dad. I growled, “My dad who you KNEW was my biological father this ENTIRE time! My dad who you let me watch die in an illusion, and BLAMED me for? That dad? Is that who you mean? You piece of literal trash!”

Jean sighed, “Yes, that one.” My hands were shaking, and I felt rage threatening to burst through the box I had carefully contained it in.

I demanded, “Give me where Booker would run before I attack you with a rage you’ve never known for that lie about my dad.

That is the LEAST you can do for me. You owe me. ”

Stephanie yelled, “Don’t tell her!” I snorted, “Hey bitter old hag… you do realize they knew everything was going Topsy Turvey and they left you in the dust. Your loyalty to them is unfounded. They cut and ran… which means they left you. Use what is left of your brain cells to recognize that. They won’t have gone anywhere you’d know about, because you’d be the first to turn on them. ”

I turned to Edward and Jean adding, “I know thinking isn’t your strong suit either, but they left you too.

They even spelled you, Edward. Find an ounce of decency in that pinky toe of yours and tell me.

” Edward sighed, “I don't know where they’d go. I did hear your little speech that got that woman killed last night. ”

I snorted, “You of all people know I don’t like people like that. Just because Eric has more integrity in one of his hair follicles than you do in your entire body, doesn’t mean you get to pout about it. That’s a personal choice. You threw away your soul mate, and he protects his with his life.”

Edward snorted, “What about people like you?” I shot back, “Last I checked, you were the jerk who tried to have sex with me a week after I arrived in your pack…. not the other way around. I was the one who turned you down for almost seven years now because you refuse to take no for an answer.”

I added, “You were the one who drugged me so you could try to rape me. People like me. Seriously… what do you mean by that? What about people like me?” My blood literally hurt thinking of all the times I’d wanted him to be a real Alpha, and he wasn’t.

I had to go against him, and it nearly killed me because of the blood in my veins.

I yelled, “People who don’t lay down and accept your worthless behind as an Alpha? People who challenge you for being gutless and spineless? Or people who refuse to have sex with you? Or people you can’t even beat drugged to force yourself on them? Exactly which one of those things do you mean?”

I heard a snarl of anger… several actually. I jumped six feet, whirled around, and came face to face with my dad, Alpha Kyle, Grandpa Ben, Levi, Eric, and Tristan. Well, at least Jason wasn’t here. I stammered, “Ummm… since when do you walk quietly Tristan?”

I linked, “Freya! Why didn’t you tell me they were coming?” Freya linked, “I’m napping because I’m tired. I need more strength and talking to those wastes of wolves was something I needed to not listen to unless they gave you locations.”

I winced but let her be. She had just growled a second ago. At least she had the ability to fall asleep quickly. That was nice… and I was jealous. Maybe if she could fall asleep fast without working herself into exhaustion first…I could do that. That would be cool.

Tristan growled, “What the HELL were you just talking about?” I answered, “Well… I asked my wolf where she was at with you all coming up behind me. I have become VERY lax since getting here. I am normally FAR more attuned to my surroundings.”

I waved my arms, “I mean… I know how Levi snuck on me. He’s a Hackura and stealthy.

Did the rest of you get silent shoes? That’s an interesting concept…

I should work on that…” My dad spoke in a commanding tone, “Melanie Jane McAlister, did you just say that the Alpha of the pack you were staying in, who is mated, tried to have sex with you when you were fourteen years old?” I made a face.

He wasn’t done with his questions though, “And when you declined, he DRUGGED you? FOR THE LAST SEVEN YEARS?!” I kicked the ground with my foot saying, “I mean that was mostly a conversation between Edward and myself... I didn’t hear you coming or I wouldn’t have said it.

My wolf just needs to get stronger and…. ”

My dad yelled, “SO IT’S TRUE?! HE DRUGGED YOU TO TRY TO RAPE YOU BECAUSE YOU REFUSED TO SLEEP WITH HIM?” I frowned, “To be fair, a lot of people did that… it was a popular pastime in Black Path… he was just one of many.”

I admitted, “I even think there was a game… made out of it... I don’t know that for sure… I’m somewhat positive though….” My grandpa yelled, “To quote people in this pack, EXFUCKINGCUSE ME?!” Well, the probability of it being a game was over ninety five percent.

Jean sighed, “Melanie, will you stop ranting? Jesus Christ.” I gasped, “What good would that do? They already heard me say it. If any of you could’ve warned me, I’d have gone with one of the other million insults I could toss your way…

. like someone who stands and fights while you hide in your dang office crying for your mommies to come save you. ”

“The irony is... NOT EVEN YOUR MOTHERS LIKE YOU ANYMORE! Crying for them does you no good, because they’d probably unlock the door and tell someone to take you away because you treat them like dirt!

You treat all women like dirt… which is a thing…

I could’ve said instead…. So, it’s kind of also your fault…

which is not surprising… since so much of what happens is literally your fault. ”

Tristan growled, “Melanie Jane.” I turned picking my sleeve saying, “Seriously, you used to stomp around like an elephant… what happened to that?” He stared at me radiating fury.

I greeted his friend, “Hi, Levi. Long time no see…and uhh good to see you again…another time probably would’ve been better… but here we are.” No one spoke .

I bit my lip, “SO… this is awkward and… I didn’t get any better at dealing with that since the last time you saw me… so… I’m going to go…. yeah…. go… going is good….” I walked past them quickly, but Grandpa Ben grabbed my arm.

Stephanie snickered and somewhere in me… I knew wasn’t good. That was something bad because she had nothing to laugh about. I couldn’t focus on it because I felt something snap inside me. I pushed Grandpa Ben away from me.
