I growled, “Why would she be with Hunters?” Phil shrugged, “Off the top of my head, she was wolf less and the perfect informant. She can defend herself. Plus, it would make sense why she’s SUCH a good source of Cayden’s.”

I growled. Phil put his hands up insisting, “It’s a theory. The family that opened up to Elise, the one lady who likes hair, insists the girl’s real hair color is black. The description they gave lines up with Melanie.” I growled again because I didn’t like it, but he was right. It made sense.

I tucked her hair behind her head. I whispered, “What did they do you, Lovebug? They will pay for it all I promise.” Phil sighed, “So many bad roads. So very many. Could we have one nice path? Could a Beta get a break? NOPE! Not one. Not one break will be given. We are going to war and that’s really all there is to say about it. ”

I looked at Melanie agreeing, “There really isn’t.

What if I hurt her by sharing my light, since her wolf is so weak?

” Phil snorted, “More like now she has weird yet cool powers. I don’t think you hurt her.

Plenty of non Wolves have Fairy mates. Even some human ones.

Sharing your light does not hurt. Go ahead, ask me how I know that. ”

I sighed, “I already know how you know, but fine. How do you know?” Phil smiled answering, “Because Former Beta Dylan has a book called ‘Everything a Beta needs to know about partial Fairies Quick Facts.’ Because he’s been around since we were pups, I’ve literally been tested on the material.

There is absolutely no way you sharing your light hurt her.

Wolf or not. Which again, on some level, you know with your healing light. ”

I questioned, “Then what the hell happened?” Phil shrugged, “I don’t know. Fairy weirdness?” I raised an eyebrow challenging that, “It wasn’t me, and she’s not a Fairy.” Phil sighed, “I don’t know, cousin. Let’s just see if it happens again.”

I grumbled, “I hope not since she passed out afterwards. I had other plans for the evening.” Phil shrugged, “And you’re ok?” I muttered, “I guess. I feel fine, if that’s what you’re asking.” He left me to my thoughts.

What the hell was that? Oden had finally stopped playing. I linked him, “Are you going to just say mate is special if I ask, or tell me what just happened?” Oden purred, “In a way, she marked us.” I scoffed, “Excuse me?”

Oden explained, “Not with her teeth obviously, but in a way that she can.” I replied, “You mean Freya can. Melanie would only know about marking us with her teeth. Melanie isn’t a Fairy so it’s not that side of me. What the hell is going on?”

Oden urged, “Have some patience. I have had some for ELEVEN YEARS! Freya might have done it, but she can’t do it if Melanie doesn’t want to.” I told him, “You have never been this unhelpful in my entire life.”

Oden snickered, “I can tell you she’s perfectly fine. She used a lot of energy and Freya is still weak. Mate is fine though.” I asked, “How are we marked by her?” Oden told me, “Go shift and look at our reflection.” Oh, dear god. What on earth happened?

I popped outside and shifted into Oden. I looked at our reflection, but I didn’t see anything different.

Oden instructed, “Look at our paws.” I saw nothing when I looked down then I lifted up my paws and there, on the pad of our paw, was a half-moon with stars.

I looked at all the pads of my paws. They all had the same design. Holy fucking shit. What was this?!

I shifted back and looked at my feet. On my heel there was a small half-moon with stars that were shimmering white with black sprinkled in. I grunted at my wolf, “You could’ve told me to look at my feet.” Oden admitted, “I didn’t know if it would mark your feet as the human side of this.”

I linked Phil, “Are you still up?” Phil retorted, “Am I still up? I’m RACKING my brain trying to figure out what’s going on. I am not just your Beta, I’m also your cousin. I do actually want to figure this out.”

“One, my brain likes answers and oddly meeting our mates brought a HELL of a lot more questions than answers. I’m questioning everything I’ve ever known. I have a feeling that’s going to get worse. I couldn’t sleep if I wanted to.” Well, that was going to get worse .

I demanded, “Come outside.” Phil snorted, “Cryptic. I’m coming.” Phil came outside a few moments later. He asked, “What’s up?” I showed him my heels. He raised an eyebrow commenting, “That’s not a guy tattoo usually. Hell, I’ll double down and say women get that tattoo.”

He put his hands up saying, “I’m not judging. I’m just saying if you had told a Beta you were getting a tattoo, I would’ve picked a different one out for you. Also, I’d ask why you went without me. Where you went and when you had the damn time to do so.”

I snorted and shifted into Oden and flipped my paws around.

Phil jumped back shouting, “HOLY SHIT?! YOU ARE SAYING WITHOUT WORDS THAT MELANIE DID THAT? The electric thing she used did something that gave you a tattoo?! Because obviously you haven’t had time to get this tattoo.

Aesir above, I need sleep. I should’ve realized that earlier. ”

I shifted back. I told him, “Oden told me to shift to see it. He didn’t know I would get them in human form too.

” Phil thought about it before asking, “Does Melanie have them?” I shrugged, “I didn’t know what I was looking for before I left my room.

My wolf is out for revenge for me not listening to him eleven years ago about Melanie being ours. ”

Phil laughed then sobered, “I’m sorry, that’s not funny. Except that it is.” He started laughing again. When he stopped, I popped us back to my room. We looked at Melanie’s feet. She had the same tattoo but hers were shimmering white.

I popped us back outside. Phil was probably looking at me with the same expression I was looking at him.

Eventually I shrugged. Phil sighed, “OH MY GOD! I can’t take this!

I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS! All I have are theories and conjecture.

I want answers. I was actually going with a theory that you were just tired. ” Rude.

“That you actually did the light show because you’re a Fairy and she’s not.

I thought you didn’t want to admit you were twice light bound to Melanie without talking to her about it.

That was my prevailing theory. You were in denial about sharing your light, BUT NOOOO. My Luna is ACTUALLY Pikachu. PIKACHU!”

I frowned, “No she’s not. She’s a wolf…” Phil interrupted me, “Maybe whatever they did to her wolf somehow transferred different magic into her. Like clearly, they used some type of magic to do whatever they did to Freya.”

He theorized, “What if that had repercussions? Corbin is always talking about the Shadows saying magic has a price. What if whatever they did to Melanie created an actual, real wolf Pokémon. An electric wolf Pokémon to be exact.”

I groaned, “I hate this but that actually is a feasible theory.” Phil snorted, “WHAT ARE WE EVEN SAYING?! Hell, I’m the one who said it.

Magical repercussions have turned your Werewolf Luna into a…

.” He trailed off then said, “I don’t know.

An Electric Wolf that gives her mate and herself, tattoos. ”

Before I could answer he asked, “What do we do if she SEES the tattoo?! We can’t explain it since we don’t understand it. The Wolves do but they aren’t talking! Useless animals! UGH!” I asked, “Wait, Rocket knows too?” Phil nodded, “Yeah, and he’s jazzed about it.”

Oden linked me, “I’m also jazzed but more so because Freya is ours.

” I rolled my eyes telling my cousin, “My wolf wants yours to know that he’s more excited about it.

” Phil snorted, “We now have Wolves in our heads that have regressed to pups in elementary school. They can talk to each other, but no no. Go ahead and make the clueless humans relay messages. WHAT THE FUCK Alexander?!”

I acknowledged, “I really have no clue. Maybe we can look into it without telling her. Who looks at the bottom of their feet? We are somewhere cold, so she’ll be wearing socks a lot.

” Phil snorted, “Our hope relies on socks, so your mate doesn't think we gave her a tattoo in her sleep. We are Werewolves. WE DO NOT GET COLD!” Yet we had earlier when Melanie got mad.

Oden hummed, “More like we just noticed it was cold.” Fine. That was a fair point.

I cringed. Oden linked, “Freya would tell Melanie if she saw the tattoo and got upset or scared.” I asked him, “Tell her what?” Oden answered, “That Freya did it.” I sighed, “Have no fear, cousin, we will not be painted as secret foot tattoo artists. Oden says Freya will tell Melanie she did it.”

Phil nodded, “Sure. There’s no problem with that.

It’s always good to think your wolf you just got is taking over your body, locking you out, and getting tattoos.

That’s a good thing for someone who just go their wolf to think happens now that she has a wolf.

Sure, Melanie won’t panic about that at all. She’ll find that SO normal.”

He waved his arms around, “Who would flip the fuck out? A wolf getting tattoos while in control isn’t concerning.

Nope. That wouldn’t concern a single soul.

ESPECIALLY not a woman who just got said wolf and didn’t have one for four years like she was supposed to.

” He’d already said that. All the Beta’s were stuck in repeat mode lately.

They were going through it. Oden snorted.

Phil groaned, “Nope, I can’t imagine that would freak me out at all in her shoes.

Because it’s not bad enough Melanie is probably going through her second identity crisis.

Because she totally had one not getting a wolf.

Let’s throw in electricity and tattoos. Aesir above!

You might have to mark her to distract from this insanity. ” Oden purred.

I told him, “I won’t mark her until she asks me to. I do acknowledge this has all got to be weird for her.” Phil snorted, “Not just her and weird is the wrong word. I’m considering it great progress she’s not in the fetal position rocking back and forth.” I growled, “

He shouted, “I’M FREAKING OUT more than she has outwardly! She’s got an electric bolt that gives you both tattoos. What if she gives me one and I don’t like mine? What if it’s some tattoo of a rainbow that appears on my butt or back?!”

“Can she give just give anyone tattoos? Is she going to give you more? Is it just you that can get tattoos? Can pack members too? These are not fun prank tattoos like your mom and Emmaline do. This is permanent. Rocket told me so because I asked if it would wear off.”

Oden linked me, “It’s just us. We just get the one tattoo, and we have it now.

” I told Phil, “Oden says only us and just the one tattoo.” Phil snorted, “Great. Can Oden share what the freaking weird electric bolt you got shot with, that somehow gave you a tattoo, means?” Oden told me, “No. Eleven years, Alexander.”

I groaned, “No, he won’t say because he’s still on about the whole eleven years of waiting for Melanie.” Phil sighed, “Rocket has no such excuse. He’s just being an ass. He doesn't think I would believe him.”

Phil rubbed his temples, “I’m telling you that my wolf could tell me that The Loch Ness Monster is going to pop up and attack us, but we just need to offer it a pizza and all will be good and I’d believe him.” I raised an eyebrow.

He clapped, “Oh and the Loch Ness Monster is purple, and he demands we give him all the pizza we have around or it will wreak havoc and I’d still believe him.

Because why not? There’s a wolf upstairs that didn’t have a wolf until she looked at you.

Now, she can give you AND YOUR WOLF, let’s not forget Oden got one too, tattoos! ”

Phil paused then said, “He actually got four tattoos. Four. You got two. She gave herself two on each foot and I’d bet when Freya shifts, she has four paw tattoos too. I have a legitimate headache. I have a new theory. Your mate is Pikachu OR she is Captain Marvel. Yup. That’s what I’ve got.”

I rolled my eyes, “Go to bed, cousin. We’ll see if we can find anything about this.” Phil laughed, “You think we can find something out about a wolf giving her mate a half-moon and star tattoo with a bolt of electricity? You’re joking.” I sighed, “We can try.”

Phil nodded, “You can bet I’ll be trying because my brain demands answers. I’m pretty sure we’d have heard about it if this had ever been done before now.” I acknowledged, “Probably.” Phil groaned, “Alright, let’s try to get to sleep.”

He warned, “If you wake up with a more tattoos like a Pikachu with stars around it, or a mermaid on your calf, don’t come crying to me man.” I laughed, “I’ll be sure not to do that. Though I didn’t cry about this one either. I just asked you to come look at it.” We walked back inside.

Phil muttered as we parted, “I’ll never sleep again. Sleep is for those who have answers. I have too many damn questions.” I couldn't help but smile. I knew Phil would sleep, but he’d probably get up in a few hours and see if he could find anything. He was bound to be in a bad mood tomorrow though.

I walked upstairs and gathered Melanie into me. I kissed her, “You are special, and I will keep you safe. I don’t know what’s happening, but I’ll find out. You are my world. I don’t even care if you give me a Pikachu tattoo. I’d probably be able to use a charm to hide it.” I kissed her forehead .

I snapped socks on her feet, but not before looking at her tattoo again.

It really was pretty. I’d never seen someone with a white tattoo.

Hers practically shimmered, almost as if it was moving.

I shook myself because tattoos didn’t move.

I pulled her into me noting that she naturally fit perfectly against me.

This was how we were always meant to be.
