Zoey
“Careful,” I instructed Huxley and Ace who were helping Titan inside.
“I’m fine,” Titan said as he hobbled forward. He had one leg in a cast and the opposite arm in a cast too.
“You’re not fine. And the deal with the doctor was that they’d discharge you if you accepted lots of help around the house. So believe me when I tell you that you have to accept our help or I’ll send you right back.”
He squinted at me.
I rolled my eyes at him. And I swore I saw a hint of a smile playing at the corners of his mouth.
He probably thought he was more intimidating than usual because of the new scars on his skin. But he wasn’t. And I was actually quite fond of his new scars. I thought he looked sexier and sexier every day.
Huxley and Ace got Titan into the family room and helped him sit down on the couch.
I propped some pillows up on the coffee table and put Titan’s feet up. And then I grabbed a blanket to drape over him.
“What are you doing?” He swatted the blanket away.
“It’s cold in here.” I tried to cover him again.
“Stop fussing over me, doll.”
Otto laughed as he walked into the room and plopped down on the couch next to Titan.
“Fussing over you is my job.” I somehow managed to get the blanket around his huge frame. And then I tucked it around him like he was a burrito. I bit back a smile. He looked so angry all wrapped up. “Would you like a cup of hot tea?”
“No I wouldn’t like a cup of hot tea. Do something with her,” he said to his friends.
Otto held up his hands. “I’m not going to try to stop her. I know better.” He winked at me.
I smiled at him.
“She’s just looking out for us,” Huxley said and put his arm around my shoulders.
“Then have her look after you guys for an hour or so.”
“Don’t pretend you don’t love having all of Zoey’s attention,” Bennett said as he came into the room.
Huxley dropped his arm from my shoulders so that Bennett could wrap his arms around me from behind.
I leaned against him. I always felt so safe and warm in his arms. I was worried the warmth of his touch would disappear once he was cured. But I realized that the warmth I felt from all these guys was just because of how desired and cared for they made me feel.
“I don’t love having all her attention,” Titan said.
Lies.
“Don’t you have a town to clean up or something?”
“Nope,” I said. “Crooked Point looks like it was never touched by a bunch of vampires. It’s as good as new. And no one seems to remember what happened.” The only real repercussion other than Titan being hurt was that I’d gotten Elias served with a restraining order. That guy was a dirty stalker. But even the guys’ friends Ray and Patrick were back to normal and had flown off to Egypt again.
Everything else was exactly like it had been before that gruesome wedding. Well, minus the fact that all my boyfriends were cured and Emma was married.
“Well, you guys can certainly entertain her somehow,” Titan said.
“It seems like you have something in mind,” Bennett said.
Titan just shrugged.
