I laugh. “Definitely not.”

“Well, I’ll let you finish your bath.”

I nod, the awkward tension crawling back between us, making me want to stay in this tub for the rest of the afternoon.

“So I have a theory…”I hand Posey her half-and-half and once she pours some into her coffee, she gives it back, then I put it back in the fridge.

Although it’s early, I’ve come to appreciate our little morning routine of getting ready for work, making coffee, and carpooling together.

“About what?” she asks while I grab my creamer and add a good amount to mine.
