“I’m too exhausted to even argue with you.”

“Damn, you are tired then.”

She lets me feed her a few more times before calling it quits.

“Will you lie on the couch with me for a bit?”

Her question takes me off guard, but I’m quick to respond. “Sure, which way?”

“On your back so I can snuggle into your side.”

“Oh I see now…” I grin, getting into position. “You just wanna use me as a human body pillow.”

A slow smile appears on her sleepy face. “Now you’re gettin’ it.”

Opening my arm, she topples on top of me before wedging between me and the couch. Then she wraps her arm over my waist and bends her knee over my leg.

“Is this okay?” Her muffled words against my chest sends warmth through my body.

I tighten my grip, keeping her as close as possible. “You’re perfect.”

chapter nineteen

Posey

I can’t rememberthe last time I slept this hard and so good, but I wake up refreshed and energized for the day. When I peel my eyes open, I realize I’m in Silas’s room.

In his bed.

Lifting up on my elbows, I glance around and try to remember how I got here. Then I peek under the covers to make sure I’m not naked.

It’d be a shame to forget having sex with Silas but luckily I’m fully dressed.

“Mornin’, sunshine.” He walks in shirtless, his sweats lying haphazardly down his waist. “Coffee’s brewin’ and breakfast is ready.”

My gaze follows the path of his happy trail down to the noticeable chub between his legs.

“Um…” Trying to find my words, I’m distracted by how hot he looks. Freshly out of the shower and testing my limits. “How’d Iend up here?”

“I carried you.”

“But why am I not in my own bed?” I sit up, checking the time on the clock. We have to leave in thirty minutes to get the goats for another day of yoga.

“I tried but you clung to me like a baby monkey. I couldn’t let you go even if I wanted to.” He shrugs, digging through his dresser. “So I put you in my bed with me. Didn’t realize what a cuddler you’d be.”

There’s humor in his tone, but I worry he wasn’t comfortable.

“Oh…sorry if I hogged it all night. Not used to sharin’.”

“Wasn’t a problem. I loved it.” He smirks at me over his shoulder before putting on his shirt.

I throw the covers off and stand, then stretch. “I’m gonna get ready.”

“Okay, meet ya in the kitchen when you’re done.”

When I look in the mirror, I can’t help but laugh at how wild my hair is.

Once I’ve brushed my teeth, put my hair up, and washed my face, I get on leggings and a sports bra. But then I decide if Silas can tease the shit out of me at yoga, then perhaps I’ll do the same to him.
