Page 26 of TAINTED by TWINS
Sasha Petrovna was on Dr Wayne's table, bent over and shoved against it like he was a doll being used, much to his delight. "God, even while you're distracted you still screw relentlessly huh, Doc?"
Dr Wayne grabbed his pink hair and pulled it up, "What was that thing between you and Jade in the parking lot?"
"Oh, just a few insults here and there, told me to keep off Lian Miller. He burned the trashcan," Sasha giggles before he grunts at the force behind him.
"So the twins are on your tail and you're not even worried about it, Sasha?"
Dr Wayne held his member and squeezed, making him roll his eyes back. "Get serious. If Lian trusts them enough to tell them, you'll get in trouble. Jade makes people disappear, you know?"
"Hi Jonah!" / "Mmmm, I smell Un Jardin from him!"
"Please get me pregnant!"
"Lesley, I'll trade you a Justin Bieber nude for that picture of Jonah bleeding!"
"Everyone, quiet!" Lian commanded, "Just take a seat, Mr Deveroux."
Not before placing an apple on his desk, tilting his head. "I'd tell you to just call me Jonah, but the way you say that makes me want to come to class even on the weekends."
"Eeeeiii! He's such a Prince Charming!"
"Wish I can rizz like him.."
"All you have is jizz, Alex."
Lian was about to scold them again but they immediately went quiet the moment Jade came through the door. He took one look at the apple and scoffed at Jonah.
"An apple, really Jonathan? What is this, 1st grade?" Jade walked towards the table and slams a box of $150 cupcake on Lian's table. "Here you go."
"Wow, those are luxury pastries!" / "My money's on Jade."
"Uhm...?" Lian doesn't like cupcakes, but Jade is clearly reminding him of what happened yesterday; so he blushed.
Seeing him blush made Jonah roll his eyes, "My gift is a lot more healthier. Yours is full of sugar and overpriced."
"Jonah's right," their classmates whispered, "So Jonah likes skinny huh..."
"Class! Quiet," Lian barks at them, "Just go to your seats, you too. I'm still marking Jade as late."
Don't tell me they're still fighting.
.. Lian is taking attendance while noting that Sasha is late as usual.
He has a gnawing feeling in his gut, thinking he may be with Dr Wayne again.
I've emotionally broken up with him..
. but why does it still hurt? Knowing he's still sleeping with a student?
He doesn't want to let go of me but he's still—!
His pencil broke, just as Sasha Petrovna came to lean against the doorway, top button undone which confirmed Lian's nightmare.
"Mr. Miller, you're called to the faculty room," Sasha announced while chewing his gum, making the teacher stand up.
"Alright Jonah, you're in charge—"
"Actually, the student officers have a meeting again. Something about a student starting fires in the parking lot," Sasha smirks at the other Deveroux twin, "They want to talk to you too, Jade."
But Jonah nudged his twin to get up. "Come on, Jade... I told you not to start fires in a plastic garbage can. This is the fourth time."
"Selene's hair doesn't count, so it's the third," Jade mutters.
With Jade avoiding Lian's eyes, Jonah politely smiles at him before leaving the classroom. Lian sighs, "Alright class... Sasha will be in charge. Make sure no one gets killed and no girls get assaulted."
"Hear that, Jerome? Girls off limits, so you're free game..."
Sasha even winks at the teacher before he left, before announcing to everyone, "Soooo... wants to play a game?"
"Oooh, a game?!" / "Yay, I vote strip poker!"
"No, silly! The first one of the three to come back..." Sasha turns to Amanda and Tiffany who held up a bucket each. "... loses."
"Place your bets! Come on, guys!"
One of them whispered, "I hope Jonah gets it, I wanna see his shirt become see-through..."
"Jade might murder Sasha."
"What if you get one of the twins, Sasha? Jade will definitely hurt you," says Tiffany.
"So what," he answers, lipgloss popping as everyone quiets down for the approaching footsteps. He smiles at the door saying, "I like getting hurt anyway."
"!!!" The door opened, and everyone instantly laughed at the individual drenched in Mountain Dew from head to toe; none other than their teacher, Lian Miller.
"Hahahahahahaha!"
"We win, whooo!"
They didn't stop laughing as Lian lifted his trembling hands just to look at Sasha, smirking at him. The teacher was so angry, but he was too frozen to yell, and anything that comes out of his mouth would just get drowned by the laughter.
"Enough, you guys!" Sasha announced to the class, before pouting to his teacher, "So sorry about that, Mr. Miller. We were trying to prank the twins! Most likely Jade, he'll look good in piss-water soda..."
"Get back to your seat, Sasha..." he managed to mutter despite his upcoming anxiety attack.
"Or what? Are you gonna turn all of us in?" Sasha walks toward him, picking up a wet strand of Lian's hair. "Are you... gonna turn us in, Mr. Miller?"
His eyes challenge him, not for the prank, but for entirely something else. The humiliated teacher didn't say anything else. Sasha giggles in victory as Lian ran out of the classroom, the stench of soda covering his body.
If Jonah was the Prince Charming, Sasha Petrovna was the Queen.
"Keep it together, Lian... just a few more months..." I mumble as I turn off the shower. In a few months, Ms Cathy will be returning from her maternity leave. I'll be free to apply to any job I want, away from this school.
I was 16, going through changes in my body which includes my unclear sexuality.
I wasn't looking at the girls, I wasn't looking at magazines with girls.
I was looking through my mom's drawers and putting on her lipstick to see if I can look as beautiful as her.
That was a time I really wanted my mother's face—I was really ugly back then despite coming from such a beautiful goddess of a mother!
The clinic was the only place with a mirror that I can practice putting eyeliner on. I'd get beat up in the male locker rooms. I can't get into female's. I needed somewhere private, something no one else would see me and my fragile self-esteem.
No one but him, apparently, when I decided to choose the clinic as my hide out. "Go on, Mr Miller. I have no business telling you not to curl your hair. Did you steal that from your mother, though?"
"Y... I'm sorry... I won't do it again."
He smiled at me, but by the next day the school doctor gave me a box with an iron curler inside.
"Like I said," Dr Wayne told me, "I have no business telling you to stop. I just don't like you stealing."
Oh, that man was handsome, kind, tall, mature, tall, generous, everything I wanted in a man, and tall. I was so in love, I came to the clinic all the time just for him.
"You know Lian, putting make up on and removing it within the hour is very bad for your skin. Why don't you just keep wearing it after you worked so hard making yourself pretty?"
"They'd bully me," I answered. "I'd rather be called ugly than gay."
"You are not ugly. And so what if you're gay?"
Am I? Was I really gay or just a lonely bullied kid? Was I really in love with him or did I just wanted someone to see me as beautiful for once?
I turned off the shower and went outside with a towel around my waist, but when I got to the bench where I left a set of gym clothes... they were missing. Where are they? What the hell—
"Looking for this...?" Says a teasing, high pitched voice from none other than Sasha Petrovna, leaning against a locked door with my clothes.
"You know, I bet money on Jade so I lost a bit of money when you got drenched.
No matter, $50 to see you wet and naked?
It's worth it. Is that how much Jonah paid, too? "
I rolls my eyes as I went over to retrieve them, "I could still report you for that prank, Sasha."
"Go ahead, as if an hour or two in the guidance office will stop me," he chuckled slyly, dropping my clothes on the ground.
I tried to retrieve it, but before I can reach for my clothes he grabbed my shoulder and suddenly pinned me to the ground, the towel In holding almost slipping if not for my hand. "Ugh—! Sasha!"
"You know what, Lian? You were all Dr Wayne could talk about—all our conversations has always been about you.
Lian, Lian, Lian—see I'm obsessed with you too, but is it so hard to be in a relationship where I also exist in it?
" Sasha pushed me against a wall, staring me down.
"Don't get me wrong... I like you, a lot.
In fact, let me make you feel better..."
His hand touches me through the towel, and I grab his wrist.
"Don't. Sasha..."
"I don't mean just that, silly... I'm gonna sell you a secret. What do you really know about your mother and the twins'? Hmm?"
My hand lowered as I stared at him in shock. "Wh-what do you know?"
"Hmm," he casually touched my arm as he thought, "Let me guess, the twins told you Mommy Miller was impregnated so she could use giving birth as an escape from Mommy Deveroux, hmm? Don't you wanna know the truth about the woman who is trying to be your godmother?"
"What truth?" And how did he know? Does Sasha really know everything, is he the archive of secrets that I can trust? "Or are you just lying, Sasha?"
"I sell secrets for secrets, but unless you sell me something more valuable than a secret," Sasha held me through the towel and inhaled the scent on my neck. "... your body? Hehe... it guarantees a truth. I have evidence."
Sasha pulls out an old folded piece of paper that he slipped between my fingers, and my eyes linger on it, debating on opening it. If I open it, I accept his offer. If I don't, my dignity remains.
Since when have I had dignity?
I used both hands to open the letter, and the towel was free to slowly slip off. I let Sasha touch me this time, eyeing my body hungrily. At my submission, taking the offer, he smiles like a cheshire would.
It was a hospital record for Huang Lei Ann, dated 24 years ago:
"Your so-called godmother pushed your mother off the stairs, causing a miscarriage that had her sent to the hospital. Lady Deveroux was so obsessed with her she tried to kill your mother, Lian. And now you're leading her to your mother... and she might finish the job."
I froze at that revelation, unable to move as Sasha kneels down to enjoy his payment, and I stayed crying against the wall with one hand on my mother's record, and another hand on Sasha's head, taking me into his mouth eagerly.
Lian Miller, wearing an outfit from his fellow PE Teacher, came into the classroom just to dismiss everyone. He eyed Jade Deveroux, who noticed the emptiness in his eyes. As everyone left, the twins stayed behind.
"Why did you change clothes?" Jonah asked, head tilted.
"I spilled Mountain Dew on myself," Lian stated, unable to meet them in the eyes after knowing what their mother did. "Jonah, you have to organize the Boys Scout's activities, do you not? And Jade, you have detention after class."
The twins share a look, recognizing the cracks in his voice as Lian packed up to leave.
"I'll see you tomorrow in class."
When he left in a hurry, Jonah casually leaned back and sighed knowingly. "They did a good job cleaning it up."
"Clean what up?" Jade asked.
"The Mountain Dew... the whole room smells like soda, the trash cans are suspiciously emptied out, and since Lian spilling it on his clothes won't stink up the place, I believe they threw it on him."
Jade chuckles, "Of course you know everything..."
"Other than me, no one else could command a whole classroom of gorillas except..." Jonah hums, glaring at the door angrily, "Why don't I speak to Sasha this time? No burnt trash needed."
Without wasting time, he grabbed his stuff and walked out of the school without looking back. He just wished it would rain so he can hide his tears, his school stuff be damned. But he kept on walking, feeling betrayed by everyone in his life except his mother.
The twins lied to me,
Dr Wayne manipulated me,
Sasha is exploiting me,
And now Lady Deveroux is using me?!
My mother is the only one I have, the only one to never betray me.
"Teacher?" a car halted before him, with none other than the devil he spoke of, Velomina Deveroux. She lowered her sunglasses, showing concerned eyes behind them. "Lian, why are you walking in this heat, come in!"
"N-no thank you," he kept on walking, so Velomina moved the car forward.
"My dear, do not subject yourself to this cruel heat, come inside and let us enjoy some frappuccinos and cupcakes. I have extra boxes, you can give them to your mother."
My mother. Lian looked at her, that smile, those high model cheekbones—maybe this is a perfect opportunity to clear things up with her. Because if she's going to murder Lian's mother, the least he could do is try to stop her, or die in her hands trying.
He got into the car, and Velomina immediately offered him a $167 matcha cupcake. "They have a new flavor. Why don't you try this, my dear?"
Lian held it in his hands, set it on his lap and just stared at it, trying so hard not to do anything rash against Velomina Deveroux. No screaming, no yelling, no accusation, and at least no crying—Too late.
"Lian?" She watched as he slowly started sobbing in his seat, not only for what he has known but because of what's currently happening in his life; trapped in a spider's web and slowly being dissolved. No one to trust, not even his alcoholic mother.
Lian suddenly took the cupcake into his mouth and bit into it, smiling despite the matcha being overpowered by his tears dripping on it. "Mmm... it's good." I hate cupcakes.
"My dear, why are you crying?" Velma reached out towards him, and he flinched, closing his eyes to calm himself down. Velomina's heart jumped to her throat as her breaths deepened, "Were you hurt? Is someone hurting you? Did my sons—"
Lian shook his head, keeping his head low as he cried with a cupcake in his hands.
If no one had hurt him, then Velomina has a feeling he may have found out about something.
She leaned back on her seat, giving Lian time to release his emotions and gather his thoughts.
He will tell me if he wants. He will leave if he wants to.
I don't want Lian to leave.
He can't help but cry in Velomina's car. Her heart broke, unable to stand him sobbing heavily with flooded eyes and a wet cupcake. But she sat there in silence, allowing him to release his emotions until he is capable enough of speaking.
After approximately 30 minutes his cries started to fade in volume. Velomina placed a hand on his shoulder. "Painful pluck, my dear? I can hear it from your cries... but I can only know the truth from your lips."
Lian sniffed, looking at her, then her lips. "Truth...? Can I... hear some truth, too?"
He knows. Velomina knows what's coming., but she pursed her lips and allowed him to speak.
"Jonah said my mom ruined your marriage by sleeping with your husband while being your lover. But Lord Deveroux was infertile, and my mom just used a baby from another man to escape from the hospital. Did she escape after giving birth? Or... did you push her?"
Lian knew the truth the moment Velomina lost her composure and sighed at the skies, away from him. He is trying so hard not to get angry at his supposed godmother, now knowing that she hurt his mother so bad.
"Are you... the reason she's even alcoholic? How could you even help her get out of that hole when you pushed her into it?" Lian cried to her, "Was I right to fear you? Were you just using me to get to her—"
"Lian, my love—"
"Why else would you treat me like this if not for ulterior motives?!" Lian failed; he had yelled at Lady Deveroux. If he was any other person, he would lose his tongue and possibly life.
But he wasn't just any other person.
"No, Lian!" Velomina held his head, even when he tried pulling away. She has to say this outright; "I never meant to use you, I never intended to! Whether or not your mother forgives me, I was willing to accept—just, please... please stay with me, hear me out!"
Tears pooled in the cold woman's eyes, and only Lian could've warmed her up.
"When I found out the woman I love was pregnant with my husband's child, I was angry.
My world crumbled, I felt betrayed and furious.
" Velomina held him delicately, wiping his tears and offering him a sad smile.
"Both of them promised the child would become ours, Lei and I.
I was promised I would raise it along with your mother.
And it was all I want: a child... with your mother's eyes. "
Impossible, Lian thinks, "I don't have my mother's eyes. I don't even look like my mother."
Velomina shakes her head, unable to look away from him.
"You're not seeing what I'm seeing. It's beyond their shape, their color.
You look at roses the same way she does, you look at life the same way she does, when you look at me all I could think of was her.
You are her son... and forgive me for believing you are mine as well. "
Velomina Deveroux was crying in front of him, and his heart almost gets touched if not for one fact.
"But you killed her child long ago," he whispered, breaking her heart. "Why...? If you loved my mother and that baby so much, why push her down the stairs?"
"I was angry... I was in love, I was obsessed.
And I lost my mind when she said she wanted to leave.
.." Velomina admits, looking away from Lian as if she undeserving.
"If I had known I'd lose her, and she'd lose her baby.
.. I never would've done that. I would've just let her go.
I'd rather rot alone my whole life than continue with her in a grave. "
Lian looks at her, the comforting silence between them.
"And I really did rot while alive; believing she was in a grave.
I believed she was dead." Velomina continued, but the pain and hurt from the past gets prevented from seeping into her heart just by holding the young man beside her.
"Her death drove me insane. I was inconsolable, delusional, I snipped at every rose that isn't as red as her blood on those stairs. .. Khalid had to send me to an asylum."
Where I had the twins... "But I got pregnant and had to remain sane for my baby boys. I believed I had to stay alive for them, not for a dead woman. They need a mother, they need someone to keep them away from their father."
"Why?" Lian questions, "Jade is upset at you for separating them from their dad—"
"He seduced your mother so she could get pregnant with his heir!" Velomina exclaims, "He doesn't love her, but he made her fall just so she can give him his heir. God, if the twins weren't born he'd get rid of me, too. I'm only alive and wealthy because of my twins."
Lian stayed quiet, the paper in his pocket haunting his mind. Can he even trust her words? Who can he really trust when everyone has lied and used him?
"Listen, my child... I love your mother.
" Velomina held his hand, "But she doesn't have to forgive me for throwing her off the stairs.
I don't forgive myself, either. I can only be with her in my dreams, apparently.
I'm willing to live with that. But I can't live not talking to you anymore, so please do not leave. "
Lady Deveroux can hide emotions very well, and hiding her feelings toward Lei Ann is the only moment when she's visibly vulnerable. Hiding her strongest emotions make a crack in her facade, enough for Lian to recognize. What if she's telling the truth?
My mother needs the closure.
So he tightens the grip on her hand—perfectly manicured with lavender and bejeweled with emerald rings—and reassured her, "You'll see her. On my birthday, right? Whether or not she forgives you... you just have to try asking for it. She needs to see you, Mother Mina."
"Ohh," her other hand held Lian's cheek, adjusting his hair to show more of his eyes. "You're a sweet boy. Definitely hers. Would you really let me see her?" even though I've always seen her every single day.
"You need to know if she could forgive you or not," he said, "And if she doesn't, then you should leave her alone."
Velomina visibly trembled at the realization that once Lei Ann pushes her away in real life, that means she should not see Velomina in her dreams as well. There was deep hesitation in her voice, from the version of her that wanted to chain Lei Ann to her side.
"Of course, my love. She will be free from me, if she wishes."
