Page 22 of Searching for Sadie (Mystic Falls #5)
SADIE
S adie lay there spent and panting on the bed. She wasn't sure anyone had ever gone down on her like that before. It was like he knew exactly what she liked and needed, but how was that even possible? This was their first time, but he played her body like they’d been together for years.
Once she was slightly more centered, she pushed up on her elbows and caught his gaze. His hazel eyes sparkled with something, she wasn't quite sure what, all she knew is she was just about to return the favor. She nodded at him, motioning for him to join her on the bed.
He stood only then did she realize he was still fully dressed.
"It would appear you are a little overdressed."
He raised his arm and with one hand pulled his shirt off over the back of his head. Another wave of desire hit Sadie as she took in his soft belly and broad chest with the perfect dusting of blond chest hair. He was all man and at least for tonight he was all hers.
Next his hand moved to the button of his jeans, that was already undone, and he pushed them down his strong thick thighs. Fuck. She’d never been with a man like him before, but she was ready. So ready!
She sat up and wrapped her hand around his cock... his large cock. She moved to lower her head to him, but he stopped her.
"Sadie, if you do that this is going to be over too soon. I need to be inside of you." He cupped her chin and pulled her gaze until it met his. "What do you say, Songbird?"
She scooted back on the bed and let her legs fall open, her eyes still pinned to his, inviting him to do just what he wanted.
He crawled over her and claimed her mouth.
The feel of his kiss and the press of his body against hers consumed all her senses.
She had never felt this desired and cared for in her entire life.
He reached over to the nightstand and pulled a condom out of the drawer. "Is this okay?" he asked.
Even in the heat of the moment he was still checking in with her, because of course he was.
She had almost convinced herself that men like Lucas didn't exist. Good men, who fixed your car, held you while you cried and fucked your brains out.
I mean, isn't that what she'd always dreamed of?
Someone to pick up the slack, to compliment her in many ways, and well, do what they were just about to do.
"Yes, please, Lucas."
Maybe she could have been a little more eloquent in asking for what she wanted, but her tongue was tied with desire. Was that a thing? All she knew was she was incapable of coherent thought and needed him inside of her right now.
He rolled it onto his thick length before lining himself up with her core. The feel of his blunt cock at her entrance was almost enough to have her coming again. "Oh god," she gasped as he began to press into her.
"I got you," he said as he kept pressing in slowly.
She reached up and took his face in her hands and kissed him until he was fully seated inside of her. He kissed down her jaw and neck as he pumped inside of her.
"Fuck, Sadie. I'm not going to last. Can you get there again?" he rasped out.
Her hand found her clit as she rubbed circles as he continued to pump in and out of her. His cock was so thick it was hitting every single spot in her with every thrust. "Oh god," she cried out as the heat pooled deep in her belly. She was going to come again.
Lucas thrusts got a little harder, filling her. That was all it took. She fell over the edge. His fingertips dug into her hips as he thrust one last time before pulsing inside of her with a loud low groan.
How was that the best sex she'd ever had?
Was it even possible to have the best sex you've ever had with someone you've only had sex with once?
An hour ago, she would have told you the best sex came from knowing your partner and how their body worked, but it would seem like Lucas Fipp intuitively knew how her body worked, and she was here for it.
He pulled out and collapsed to her side as he laced their fingers together.
They both lay there panting, holding hands.
As much as Sadie didn't think she was ready for a relationship, when the universe put someone like Lucas Fipp in the house right next door, it's better to just not question things.
"Wow," Lucas finally said on an exhale. "That was incredible."
"Yeah," she said, words still not something that she felt capable of right now.
"I'll be right back," Lucas said before kissing her and letting go of her hand.
She didn't know where he was going, but she hoped he hurried. She didn't really feel like being far away from him right now.
Before long he came back with a glass of water and set it on her bedside table with a sheepish smile on his face before walking around and getting back in bed without saying a word.
"What is it?" she asked, feeling a little too vulnerable.
"I'm just reminding myself this is real."
How did this big man with rough callus strong hands turn her into an absolute pile of goo in the best possible way?
Something about him made her feel safe. It was the moments like this when she saw glimpses of what a life in Mystic Falls could look like.
Her aunt had always been her biggest supporter and the one person in her family who truly understood her.
Even now, she was proving to be that safe place.
"How do you feel?" Lucas asked as he opened his arms to her.
Without a second thought, she settled her head on his chest and rested her arm over his belly. "Amazing. And to think we could have been doing that the whole time?"
"I mean, I wouldn't have been opposed," he said as he put his arm that wasn’t holding her behind his head.
She looked up at him, biting back a grin. Only when her eyes connected with his, the vulnerability of the moment settled in. "I'm sorry."
His brow scrunched ever so slightly. "What on earth are you sorry for?"
"I don't know," she said looking away. "I guess I just meant sorry for being stand offish."
"Sadie," he said, waiting for her to look back at her. "You better not be apologizing to me for not having sex before now."
"What? No... I'm not... I just am sorry I was pushing you away."
"No," he said, cupping her chin and holding it so she had to look at him. "You haven’t been pushing me away. You have been taking it at the pace that felt comfortable to you. I would never want anything but that."
She just nodded. All the words caught in her throat.
"That being said, that was pretty incredible," he said before dropping another kiss on her lips.
She hummed in agreement before her mouth cracked open in a yawn.
"Do you want to stay the night?" he asked softly as he ran a hand through her auburn waves.
"I have absolutely no desire to leave this bed." She settled into his as his arm squeezed her just a little tighter.
"Do you have to be up at a certain time?"
"Nope."
"Okay," he said before trying to stifle his own yawn before turning off his bedside lamp.
Her entire body relaxed into him. Being in the darkness with his big strong arms around her brought her such a sense of safety. She didn't know this is exactly what she'd been craving. She nuzzled into him, and he kissed the top of her head.
It was perfect.
She woke up in the morning to a familiar feeling of a big orange cat kneading her back.
"Not now, I'll feed you later," she groaned at the orange beast as she started to blink open her eyes.
Only then did she sit up fully, realizing she was still at Lucas's. "How...." she looked at the little orange monster who was just purring up at her.
Lucas shifted next to her. "What is it?"
Sadie just gestured to the cat as Lucas nuzzled her and gave George a scritch behind the ears.
"Good morning, George."
"How did he get in here?" Sadie asked, still trying to figure it out.
"How does Mr. Mistofeles do anything? I gave up asking questions like that about this cat ages ago."
Sadie couldn't help but laugh. "Was that a Cats reference? I don't think I've had a good Andrew Lloyd Weber reference before breakfast."
"I see... I should feed you first before I astound you with my lackluster knowledge of musicals. Do you want some coffee?"
He got out of bed and bent to pull on some boxers, and Sadie was just about to say, no, let's stay in this bed a little longer. But then her traitorous stomach gave a rumble.
"Coffee and breakfast?" he asked before slipping on a plain white t-shirt.
"Sure," she said.
Before he left the room he leaned over and gave her a kiss. While it wasn't a deep passionate kiss, it was more a gentle yet still claiming kiss. He pulled back leaving her breathless.
"I'll meet you downstairs."
When she came downstairs Lucas was already in the kitchen humming and whipping up some eggs in a bowl as the coffee pot burbled next to him. Her heart squeezed in her chest as she took in the sight and the cat wound around his legs.
"Humming more Adrew Lloyd Webber?" she asked.
He turned to her with a smile that settled into a place in her heart she wasn't sure even existed anymore.
"Nah, I'm not sure what I was humming. I just woke up in a really good mood." He crossed the room to kiss her before he got back to making them breakfast. "Are eggs okay?"
"Perfect. So how do you have musical knowledge? You don't really strike me as the type."
"I'm not really, but my mom is. Every Mother’s Day and for her birthday we would take her to a show in the city."
"Aww, that's really nice. Is your family close?"
He nodded as she poured the eggs into a frying pan. He turned and pushed the toast down into the toaster. "Yeah, one of my brother's lives in the city but two of us are still here and my parents are pretty great."
"I could tell. I had a nice time with your mom yesterday."
"What about your family?" he asked as he stirred the eggs.
With a sigh she went and poured herself a cup of coffee. "My family is complicated. They're fine, they just don't really understand me."
"That sucks," he said as he started plating up their breakfast.
"That's not that bad. Well... I'm not speaking to my sister right now, and because of that I'm kind of dodging my mom's phone calls... but besides that."
He brought their plates over to the kitchen table and they sat down and enjoyed their breakfast. She couldn't seem to keep her eyes off him.
He was just buttering his toast, but she watched him like he was creating a masterpiece.
How was it possible that someone who she'd only know a little over a month has made her feel so safe and seen?
He looked up from the jam he was now smearing on his toast with a smile before offering it to her.
She bit her lip, feeling suddenly bashful, but took the small jar of what looked like homemade jam.
It had a label on it that read Smith's Apple Orchard.
As she started to smear the apple butter on her toast. His foot made contact with hers under the table and her eyes found his again.
The warm smile on his face as the gentle breeze blew in from his open window filled her with a sense of peace.
This was a new and welcome feeling. She had needed a moment to tell her that after everything she'd experienced over the past year that things just might be okay, and this was it. And it was all because of the man sitting across from her.
After breakfast, she headed home to shower, and she found herself picking up her guitar and writing a song. She hadn’t felt the muses since the show, but slowly her time in Mystic Falls was filling her with music again.
